Capital goes to the side of the fence where the grass is greener. And if good Chinese companies are forced out of the US, suddenly the clover in Europe and Japan will be six feet high.
This is extraordinarily disingenuous, Bill. Now they will fight tooth-and-nail in an attempt to complete the destruction - up to and including a crashed Financial System and blood in the streets. Something I find almost comical is Bill's (and many other reader's) warnings about how Trump and his tariffs are going to crash the US and (possibly) the world economy.
For years now Bill has been warning, (and most of us agree), that because of stupid and short-sighted political decisions, there is an economic crash in our future that's just waiting for a trigger. And worse, there is no viable way to avoid it. When something can't continue on--it won't.

So my question for Bill and others is this--if it was drop dead certain anyway, why is NOW so terrible? If the system was so completely screwed up and unredeemable as we all claimed, then why the long faces? Let's just pass out the "I-Told-You-Sos" congratulate ourselves for being in maximum safety mode, and get ready for whatever emerges from the ashes.
I have no idea how all this tariff stuff will play out, and neither does anyone else here. But it just seems silly to me to bitch about an impending economic crisis that we all agreed was inevitable anyway.
Butbutbut - it's just too good an opportunity to disparage Trump and Conservatism, then ridiculously blame 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 on them when the inevitable comes to pass. Besides, the "leadership" at BPR knows they can get at least the 30%-ish smooth-brained, sheep-like subscriber section to actually buy that load of crap while they deliver it...
Can the current administration be classified as "conservative"? Trump described himself as the King of Debt in the past and is badgering Powell to prematurely lower interest rates again just like he did in 2020. Wouldn't you like to see a real conservative who campaigned for allowing the market to set interest rates instead of some private banksters? Wouldn't you prefer a president who "conserved" the values of George Washington who warned about foreign entanglements instead of a presiden who sends unlimited money to Israel and is wasting money bombing Yemen to help Nuttyyahoo?
Well, I can agree with the first 2/3rds of you post (even though it matters less than nothing what I agree with - your opinions are your own obviously.)
I have never maintained that Trump is a Conservative, at least not in the Traditional sense of the label. He is quite the Hybrid, but I'll still take him over any of the alternatives, right or left, in this Time and Place...
WD Bill, I have a question for you why is it that Chinese have to own 50% of any business that wants to open in China but when the Chinese company comes to America we don’t own 50% of them, Concerning Rick Scott, his beef, I believe is they don’t abide by the rules of the SEC. The reporting part they lie, they cheat or they don’t report that’s a major problem just saying.
It’s easy. Unfettered corporations care about ONE thing—money. Not the community, not any law, not the truth, not common sense or morality, not ANYTHING else. In China the government controls the corporations. In the US the corporations control the government. By definition that’s Fascism. We just don’t want to admit it.
You got that backwards. Leave the drum circle and get back to class. Fascism in the is where the government says that Companies are privately held but they have to do what the government says. Or else. You might.
I guess one has to look at the fundamental purposes of the government in question, I would guess. The Chinese government does NOT, to my knowledge and experience, influence any its corporations to destroy any group of people. It's true that the Chinese government itself can be heavy-handed, however its corporations consistently and efficiently build previously unknown transportation systems, ships, airplanes not prone to crashing, artificial rivers, giant electric projects, hundreds of new colleges,, etc., etc. for the purpose of enabling fuller participation of every citizen in the economy. I.e., it considers becoming rich to be a legitimate goal, not a "sin", and has succeeded magnificently: Wages have grown 10-20-50 times since the eighties when China stole our concept of private enterprise, while cUS wages are stagnant since 1972. . Please name a corporation in China that is intentionally working to destroy any of its 40+ ethnic groups or the life or economy of its 14 bordering neighbors. The comparisons with Schindler's List may have applied to the rail road companies in the US during the 19th century, but are sure misplaced in today's China.
Have you been to China lately? If you have been twice you would notice that it will be cleaner, less polluted, more verdant, more prosperous looking, etc. tha most visit. Please name me one city in the US that applies to. Oh, and btw, the kids actually go to school (even though they usually have to pay)! Crime is virtually non-existent so you can virtually walk anywhere without fear. Taxes virtually don't exist for most people. While you canuse public transportation to travel almost anywhere cheaply, cars costing $50,000 here cost less than half that in China. Establishing a business is easier there than in my hometown. Etc., etc. What is the BS of which you speak?
And, BONUS, you virtually can't publicly criticize any part of the "government", freely state your opinion online or on a street corner if it differs at all from the approved narrative, and can't freely travel to other Countries should you have the funds or desire. This is just a VERY short list of Virtualities that some people might not agree with.
Besides not having any Freedom or Liberty, it's a really superior place...
Bill: there you go again. Trump does want to stop illegal immigration. He does not want to curtail legal immigration. Also, yes he does want to remove from the country illegal immigrants that are CRIMINALS. You are doing a disservice when your BS is half truths. AP
The current Administration may have an overarching plan/strategy and accompanying objectives. My concerns: does such a strategy exist? Is the erratic, gyrating implementation part of the strategy? Has there been a consideration of unintended consequences? For every action, there is a reaction. Is this Administration prepared for the reaction? I'm not sanguine. This feels like a high school chem lab experiment about to go awry.
Based on the speed and specifics of wat Trump has accomplished and is trying to put in place over the first 100 days tells me that yes, there is a plan. It is detailed and comprehensive, with measures and counter-measures laid-out for different scenarios as both positive and negative results begin coming in.
Do I know this for sure? Of course not, and I will be the very 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 person to say "Trust the Plan" (we saw where that got us the first time around), but I don't view anything that is happening now as haphazard. Trump had four years to think on all of these issues, plan action and identify key individuals - he didn't waste that time, IMO.
Also, I wouldn't assume for a second that any Leadership would completely disclose what their Strategy and Tactics are for Making America Great Again. There are too many true enemies in the light and in the shadows for any kind of disclosure like that - in fact, the less that gets publicized the better. So hang in there, brother! We are in a war and Trump is on the right track...
Why did they release vaccines that don't work and take away doctor's right to practice? Why did they censor and take away our freedom of speech? Is that because they are fighting for free trade? Why are the paying for trans dancing in front of our kindergardeners? Is that fighting for free trade? Why do they want boys competing in girls sports? Is that because they want free trade? Why did they remove soldiers for not taking vaccines? Is that because they want freedom? Why did they spend so much through corrupt mechanism to put us greater in debt? Is that because they are for freedom and free trade?
If you can't see that we are in a war then I suggest you open your eyes. WE've tried "free trade for a couple decades" that was the whole idea that would defeat communism and lead to capitalism and freedom. Too bad we made a mistake after a couple decades of seeing if it would work but eventually pragmatism and common sense prevailed. Free trade means nothing if you are dealing with communist and elitists.
If your issue is the Warped Speed experimental mRNA vaccines you have to blame both parties. Trump not only said he is the Father of the COVID Vaccine but still braggs about how many loves it saved. But it's worse than that - did you happen to see Trump's introduction of Larry Ellison as one of the leaders of Stargate? Good old Larry says he wants AI to centralize all our medical records and that AI will prepare our own personal mRNA vaccines. Imagine that - the Feds will know if we complied and took our clot shots. What could possibly go wrong?
Accurate and VALID complaints about the Trump Administration, Cartero. I think Trump is finally coming off the mistake of praising the deadly "vaxx" and his promotion of it (note he NEVER made it Mandatory - that was TraitorJoe and the dims), but I would wager deep down he still views his actions surrounding the convid response to be an achievement due to the simple fact that he got "things" done so quickly, even if those things were harmful.
Just to be clear I'm not just criticizing Trump. The Biden team is also guilty of promoting an experimental medical treatment for healthy individuals. Actually we can put some responsibility on Reagan and Congress for the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program which essentially gives the pharmaceutical companies a Get Out Of Lawsuits Free card for vaccine injuries.
Aware of all that. Not suspecting Trump is perfect. They are all just politicians playing their games and realizing later they could be wrong on an issue. And Trump was wrong on the vax at least initially. I'm really complaining of the extent of leftists carrying on and pushing the limits on obviously foolish things. It implies a plan behind their machinations. Disturbing society is a primary plan here. Why? Why do they need 2000 swiss army soldiers to protect themselves when they meet in Davos? Just asking some questions:
However I can't see free trade and democracy as their objective given their constant desire to disturb.
SE: Getting things done so quickly…is a good thing?? No, esp., if it is harmful. And saying it’s “just the nature of the Beast.” Where is the common sense to that? Well, I guess if Trump says it, it’s okay.
SE you need to see the video of Rich (of big &Rich musical duo, country music) who’s a big supporter of DJT. It is because of him and a couple others who got Trump to stop taking credit for warp speed. Interesting
Yup - I saw it. He was honest and un-cowed by being with the President, telling it like it is - I'd reckon that was the first time DJT had heard that perspective, even though it is shared by ten's of millions of his supporters...
The oppression of the leftarded has backfired on them -again. Before convid, few people had ever heard of Ivermectin, despite it having been around over 70 years and it's formulation having won a Nobel Prize. Now it is being used to CURE cancer and other deadly conditions.
Thanks big pharma and lame "media" - the cat is COMPLETELY out of the bag. Here are a few examples from the dozens I have been collecting. It's real, and it works folks:
I think the seemingly obvious chaos is part of the plan. During his first term, Trump was a sitting duck for the Democrats to attack with "Russian Collusion" and other made-up idiocies. Now he is moving so fast on so many fronts that the Democrats are immobilized by the sheer volume of policies they have to fight against.
Bill - I just don't know how you do it day after day but - thank you - you continue to shed light on reality no matter what those wandering your Comments page think. And, if you never take a peek here I fully understand.......not sure I would either!
Ol' SE - everyone has a view. You see the World one way and others, including this ol' man and apparently Bill, have another view. We will see what happens as time goes by but the U.S. is no longer the biggest baddest country. Because the U.S. can't figure out how to use diplomatic instead of brute force, the world is turning away rapidly. No country trusts the U.S. anymore - too many broken agreements and sanctions including out and out theft. Frankly, not the way to turn things around. Are you drinking earlier today? I am........LOL!
Actually many countries are pissed off at the US because we print excessive dollars. This in turn makes their currency less valuable. We need to go back to the gold standard.
I, for one, would still prefer to be the "baddest" Country - it's a dangerous world out there, even if the toys and trinkets of death are expensive. We need that threat and capability to survive, mainly because nearly everyone hates us now due to the very accurate past actions you alluded to in your post. As for biggest? Meh, could go either way on that, so long as our total numbers aren't pumped up by illegal invaders that somehow get their votes counted.
Also, I have no problem with anyone having a viewpoint different than mine and enjoy it immensely when my mind is changed due to FACTS or EVIDENCE. My comment was pointing out that Bill ignored the TRUE issues underpinning his post today, most of which I found reasonably reasonable. It's just that I don't appreciate being gas-lit in such an obvious, juvenile fashion. As I've said many times, the majority of readers/commenters here at BPR are much smarter than the typical indoctrinated, surface-level thinking cult members of the dimocrat/communist left, though that dwindling minority seems to be Bill's "target" audience. The now-daily pathetic attempts to smear and insult President Trump through falsehoods and half-truths are tiresome and unnecessary. Just give us the straight skinny Bill - save the emotional venting for your private communications and don't inflict your insecurities on those of us who don't care nor have any interest in watching you get your Hate on.
Oh well - I'm here primarily for Dan and Tom, Bill is just the sideshow gawker trying to get paying rubes through the door. ;)
PS - The day drinker thing was said in jest, but man, what a reaction it has gotten. LMAO...
Another view.......the U.S. hasn't tried diplomatic since the Korea War ended. All kinds of assassinations, overthrowing countries, and war after war after war with military outposts in 800 places. Wonderful results in Ukraine, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and so on. U.S. is no longer the "baddest" in the World. The World is now multi-polar. Frankly, the U.S. doesn't have the best military, doesn't have much manufacturing like post-WWII, and its fiat currency is falling and will continue. Thinking the U.S. can continue to go around the World pounding countries on the head doesn't make any sense. One day reality will wake the U.S. up. Hopefully, our elites aren't so delusional to unleash a genocidal apocalyptical event. Again, hopefully.
Interesting, seems without one set of boots, our armaments have kept the Ruskies at bay for 3 years, we have trained an incredible Ukrainian Army who is also giving them something to think about. So who do you think has the best military? China, because they have more boats, note, not ships, boats. Cannot field a blue water navy. Or perhaps the Russians, yea, that is working out against a smaller country. I don't know< i generally agree with most of your stuff but not this.
The Russians have the power to wipe out Ukraine. Many in Russia have criticized Putin for not taking off the kid gloves. Imagine if Russia had done to Kiev what Nuttyyahoo is doing to Gaza. As far as the most powerful military, who knows, but we are in no shape to invade Russia or China.
Mr. SE, Correct. I wonder if Bill still has an office in China. He doesn’t bring up Chi-Com atrocities. You would think he would preface his remarks when bringing up China by at least indicating what horrible monsters the Chi-Coms are.
And today he writes that Pres. Trump wants to deport American citizens. Oh, my Lord. So I wonder if he still has a hand in running his company/companies; or, his family is only allowing him to write these essays, and nothing more.
Fortunately China has most of the cards so after our “peace preaching /warmongering” uber leader loses his ass-kissing “friends”, the whole world, not just Europe and Japan, will be lounging on the grassy US postwar principles of competition and free movement of goods, services and people—that somehow Rick Scott, dear leader (who I voted for 3 times), and Benjamin Netanyahu completely misunderstand.
While allowing/actually expecting and inviting national leaders to stand man-to-man, Xi Jinping travels freely and in accord with 3000 years of Chinese history, simply turns the other cheek. Trump wouldn’t dare do either and, instead, orders for us new fire hoses every day, many of which don’t fit.
The grass being greener for Europe, and Japan, means that now China gets to screw these countries with second rate products and massive trade deficits. WONDERFUL! And, are there really any good Chinese companies ? I’m not confident that there are any, but, boy do these companies provide a plethora of fine spies to help ‘Make America Great Again’ /sarc.
It won’t be long before nearly everything in your homeland of Ireland will be controlled by China, as it is so in America. Your Irish pubs will be full of Guinness swilling patrons from the government and corporations, and they will be signing in Mandarin the lyrics ‘where seldom is heard a discouraging word……. about China.’
“Trump has already made known his plans to curtail immigration…”…help me out, Mr. Bonner: when did President Trump make this “known”?
Or, are you disingenuously labelling criminal border trespassing (that the President is stopping) “immigration”? If so (and we all know this is exactly your intent), to immigrate implies a legal process. These trespassers are criminals, illegal A L I E N S, not “immigrants.”
Please be better, Mr. Bonner. When you allow intentionally deceptive personal prejudice to color your arguments, you lose credibility and only diminish yourself.
Agreed Mr. Wong, thanks for the link, it is a very thoughtful article. ZeroHedge generally posts well-researched articles, based on facts and/or solid reasoning, while simultaneously not over-respecting any Politician of any stripe. Lots of good information there, daily...
It's amazing, how a learned writer, such as Bill, can leave out a "key" word in his writings. What is that word, "Legal"!!!! Bill seems to love the word "Everyone" when defining our laws and constitution. No one, including Trump, has said that citizens or anyone legally here, don't have defined "rights". All others have rights defined by the current administration "or" those defined by the federal courts (who are the final defining administration/Judical authority).
Actually, I think you mean legally here HAVE defined rights, Illegally here - well, the courts think they have this power, in reality Foreign affairs and immigration are in the jurisdiction of the Executive branch.
A distinction that has been made murky by the domestic enemies among us, but that will become crystal clear under Trump's second term - if we can somehow overcome the blackmail videos of John Roberts currently in the hands of the deep state, and whatever it is they are holding over ACB...
The US, I hope, will be like Baltimore; burn it down, make it great again.
The bastards control everything, caused everything, own everything. Let them go where they want then they can continue their havoc in Japan and Europe. Good luck and riddance.
I am an American, a nationalist, America is my home, legal Americans my family. Take care of family!
Sorry Bill, but you sound like you’ve been drinking the CNN/MSNBC Kool aid again. I know you see the potential for a big US win but seem intent on stressing the short term negative effects of this policy, just like the liberal media. What happened to you?
OMG, Bill! A fire destroying a large section of Baltimore, and Trump holding the gas can! How diabolical. Here's another: vehicles moving down the interstate all in orderly fashion when they come around a curve and suddenly there is a fog bank that they enter. CRASH!! Huge pileup with many injuries and deaths. And, there is Donald holding a fog machine to make it all happen. How absurd! But great fiction.
I have followed you folks for quite some time and am a paid subscriber. Love the philosophy and commentary. You all often repeat the claim about gold ‘not paying a dividend’. This is no longer true. Monetary Metals, started by Keith Weiner (I think you are familiar with him), is a revolutionary company. They are bringing gold back into the monetary system. I have most of my long term metal with them, earning anywhere from 2.5-27%, dependent on whether it is a bond or lease. My stacks keeps growing. Please do yourself a favor and check them out. Tell them Tony sent you. You won’t regret it. Keep up the great work. DM me if necessary: 2067955813

Uh, that would be "Schindler's List."
Exactly. EU had it backwards.
yea, we agree! Where is Curly Joe.....
PS: Did you attend Bidens late night mumble session in Chi-town? lol
Aren't you late for the Drum Circle down on the quad of your local College?
What complete BS.
Why, you have just given me a good example of it!
Ed. The first thing fascists do is take all the guns. Republicans?
The Trump administration is trying to curtail ILLEGAL immigration...
...I caught that too...shame on Bill.
Thanks...
Bill: there you go again. Trump does want to stop illegal immigration. He does not want to curtail legal immigration. Also, yes he does want to remove from the country illegal immigrants that are CRIMINALS. You are doing a disservice when your BS is half truths. AP
Unfortunately, almost everything Bonner writes is half-truths.
Yes but look how he gets comments from us.
Hi Agent -
Based on the speed and specifics of wat Trump has accomplished and is trying to put in place over the first 100 days tells me that yes, there is a plan.
It wasn't "free" trade... it was corporate greed exploiting cheap labor at the expense of U.S. sovereignty with U.S. politico's leading the way!
They just label it free trade... it is deficit trading, and it will cease one way or another...
That's just the Nature of his Beast...
That's news to me. I thought trump was about injecting bleach and eating horse pills.
A lot of doctors believe in ivermectin and have been proven right ;)
The oppression of the leftarded has backfired on them -again.
It's real, and it works folks:

stir that pot....
Dude - today's dump is one of the most misleading, disingenuous Bonner articles of the last 6 months - and that is saying something...
LMAO...
Can't apply diplomacy when those you are dealing with only understand brute force.
I was once asked by a wise man if I knew the difference between a Boat and a Ship? When I told him I did not, he said:
"A Ship can carry a Boat, but a Boat can't carry a Ship."
I don't know if that's a standard saying in the Navy (I'm an Army vet), but it sure stuck with me.....
Bill.
Nailed it right away, Mr. Telnes....
I stopped wasting time reading Bill Bonner. It is like ranting from grandpa Simpson. Read this instead for more nuanced analytical writings about the current US policy: https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/trump-confronts-economic-and-geopolitical-reality
That's the real question we're wanting answered...what's happened to BB??
