Dear Reader,
“We lost half the crop!”
We received alarming news from the vineyard manager at Gualfin, my family’s cattle ranch in Northern Argentina.
An early frost had WIPED OUT HALF OF THE GRAPE HARVEST for this year!
The 2022/23 harvest from our own extreme altitude vineyard in the foothills of the Andes mountains was already challenging enough…
There’s the ongoing economic crisis… a peso in freefall… surging supply costs... trouble with the Originarios…
But on top of that an unseasonable cold snap froze the vines causing them to produce half the fruit.
Our winemaker, Raul, says that next year we will have less than half the bottles that we do now!
Because of this we are forced to hold back some of our current 2021 vintage to ensure supplies for next year… making a limited supply even for limited…
And, unfortunately, we’ve got to raise prices, something we’ve been holding off doing.
But for a limited time you can get the 2021 Tacana and 2021 Tacana Reserva at last year’s price…
After this we will be raising prices by 10% or more…
If you've never tasted Tacana before, it’s more intense than the wine you’re probably used to. Goes great with meat. The Argentines drink it with their big steaks, for example... We drink it with everything, everyday!
Our stock is very limited, and prices are going up, so don't delay.

We appreciate your support.
Cheers,

We can’t get hold of it down here in Kangaroo country unfortunately.
Oh well!
Just have to make do with infamous Penfold Grange or various other ‘wannabe’ Aussie counterfeits...
Just drink a little more of that great Argentinian beer!
