Now that the city is almost unlivable, an opportunity presents itself. The leveraged real estate speculator can’t help himself. He wants to create the Middle East Riviera.
Give it a rest, the good that will come out of this Administration far exceeds anything that the last pile of crap could have ever wished for. You could write and comment about the Biden Administration for the rest of your life, the failures and opportunities there are limitless. If you can't see the many good things that are already happening as a result of this Administration then I don't think you should be commenting on anything about him. There will undoubtedly be things to complain about, but there are many more that are worth a positive comment. I'm a long time subscriber, but we do get tired of the negative drivel:-)
Hard to be positive when you're on the Titanic and the concentration is rearranging the deck chairs not the hugh iceberg directly in front of the ship that's running full speed ahead...
That's absolutely not true, not true at all. Only someone with their head in the sand cannot acknowledge the results of the Canadian and Mexican tariffs already. There is always a price to pay to accomplish good things. Clarifying the government's position about the only two Sexes of people on planet Earth is another great start. Eliminating Dei BS is another great start. I'm not going to waste my time listing all of the good things because you may be incapable of even allowing yourself to recognize them.
I believe Bill's major point here is that the country is in a virtually unavoidable Doom Loop, given bad decisions over the years, and the resulting debt levels. Some individual positive things may be happening, but the ultimate outcome is cast in stone.
I'm sure some passengers on the Titanic were having a good meal when and even after it hit the iceberg.
So make up and comment on only the negatives that exist in your mind - because that is all Bonner and the rest of the leftardes have been able to do so far.
Great plan.
Maybe wait until Trump actually does screw the pooch on something (because he will), and THEN throw your hissy fit...
Lord have mercy Bill, take that Big Gulp mug of Kool Aid you're drinking from and pour it out. While you're at it order a copy of "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu from Amazon and read it. We aren't "taking over management" of Gaza.
I know you dislike Trump most of all and there's certainly some personality traits of his to dislike. The only problem is he is effective, or did you miss the illegal border crossings cratering since he was sworn in 3 weeks ago? How many more examples do you need? At this point there's hundreds of them and we're only three weeks in.
We take the good with the bad. I still say wait until January 20th /2026. I would take a wild guess and MR. T. will have a few more good traits than not. Just a guess on My part.
Have to admit that was a nonstarter but he is moving so fast it is hard to keep up with him. Compare him to biden who could barely stand or speak. No sane person would build anything for the palestinians who would just burn it down, everywhere they have gone (Jordan, Lebanon) they bring death and destruction. He has a very small window before the debt problems that the harris/biden admin left him really become a problem. Yellen foolishly or purposely used expensive short term debt to refinance the debt. Not going to be pretty with it all coming due but at least we have someone competent in office and not harris admin which would be a disaster.
People like Bill are so mired in their personal Hatred that they will never figure Trump out. They will continue to throw mud at the superfluous "surface" themes and make complete fools of themselves as they do it.
It is beyond obvious that Trump is not interested in "Redeveloping Gaza." There is a larger plan at play and he fired the first salvo with those comments.
I have no idea what that plan is, but I do know it ultimately has little or nothing to do with the commercial development of the area, but the end goal is sure to involve solid Peace and increased Prosperity for all involved. I make that statement with assurance based on Trump's Middle East activities & treaties signed during his first term...
I agree. Trump is in the process of drawing in other ME voices. Of course, he knows that the initial take will be criticism. No one wants the US to plant itself in the ME with an actual holding. Those in the region, so far, have gotten away with throwing some money at the Palestinians much as one would give a dollar to a panhandler in Baltimore. This enables governments in the region to ignore the ongoing problem while basking in the press for their own largesse. Now, with this announcement by Trump, they'll have to step up and actually take a position publicly if only to register indignation as protest - and that, I suspect, is the play. The beginning of a wider dialogue. When it is concluded, I predict no US occupation, some US money thrown in the kitty, and a material advancement, once again, of the Abraham Accords amongst a wider group of "investors".
BTW: for those that like to dwell on Trumps Atlantic City Casino boondoggle, the back story and Trumps real mistake was to involve local Mom & Pop plumbers and other local but relatively unsophisticated contractors. In fact, that was a requirement by local forces in AC government. Later, these people were in our newspapers, here in NJ, talking trash about how "unfair it was" that they couldn't get paid for all the change orders that they failed to seek pre-approval for prior to performing the work. Anyone familiar with the business knows that a failure to get prior approval for costs associated with added scope is a loser position for any contractor.
If Trump had chronic issues with nonpayment of trades he would never have been able to go on and build many more projects in the NY/NJ metropolitan region. Trust me on this one as I know this business well, and the regional politics. The "boys" (wink, wink) would have seen to his ultimate failure.
Damn it, I was going to buy some beach front property on the Mediterranean in Gaza getting in on the ground floor, literally for pennies on the dollar. How more American is that?....Now I have to settle for a rehab in Baltimore and pay for 24/7 protection...
I have enjoyed reading your thoughts and comments for several years know and believe you like to call it as you see it, many times it is provocative for thought. I would be among those who don't like some of the comments and antics of the President, but he gets things done, not always in ways that I believe are correct. I really thought you would have observed enough now to understand how the President operates. First the "Tariff War" threat worked, not sure what you were thinking, but the President got both borders more effectively closed by those governments not ours, that was what he was trying to do to, which you may not have been paying attention too. Later he may bring tariffs out again to improve trade opportunities, but his first action was the borders, it's a win without question despite your cynicism. Onto to Gaza, I believe you are a wise and intelligent person with a lot of business experience, frankly I am very surprised you can't spot this ploy to throw a comment out to get people thinking about a different approach. I don't think the middle east wants the US there and he knows it, neither does the average American want us there. but changing the conversation this way will help bring the regional players together to act on it and do something, obviously what has been done for the last 50 years doesn't work and destabilizes the area.
Don't let your bias against the President overtake a negotiation opportunity in progress in Gaza. If not, I suppose you will believe he really wants to take over Canada a State (which we don't want to incorporate their extreme social agenda in the US and he knows that as well after all we already have that in California) or worse yet we will find you supporting the USAID and believe the status quo is good and therefore should be defended.
Come on folks! Seriously? Ol' Trump - one bankruptcy after another - then puff gone like the wind. 1st term - US$7T add to the debt - let me say that one more time - US$7T. This term - supposedly "Make America Great Again" - it certainly doesn't appear to be going that way. We all know "The Art of the Deal" - works in real estate sometimes - Huff and Puff and tell them you are going to blow their house down - the Big Bad Wolf. He never intends to follow thru on his plans - it is just more huffing and puffing trying to get a "settlement" that favors his constitutes the Israelis. His constitutes certainly aren't us peons in America. He isn't King Midas and whatever magic touch he had was lost ions ago. Advocating removing almost 2 million Palestinians from their forever homeland is horrific and insane. The Israeli Lobby once again raises its ugly head out of the genocidal slime it lurks in. It is vitriolic to the point of being effable. As always - Have a Great Day - just one ol' man's opinion but with his eyes wide open.
You can't go bust if you don't try! If you do, get up and try again. So interesting to hear all these people haven't taken any risk at all. How's that magazine business going on Bill?
The Israelis would certainly like a neighbor of the USA caliber. That is why their minister is in agreement. Comes with all the protection that the US could give.
Ok - and why should America spend money on that? And, how does that Make America Great Again? There are serious issues here in the Good Ol' USofA. Getting the US mired in the Middle East (Gaza/Lebanon/Syria - war with Iran) only satisfies the Israelis - and does nothing for America or the rest of the World either. If anything it hurts America since it will raise the debt and take the focus off of Making America Great Again. But I guess dear ol' DT thinks he must re-pay the Israeli Lobby for the millions they poured into his election coffers. So Sad for America. Reality strikes - Trump ain't in charge, the Israeli Lobby is.
You seem very short sighted. I agree with previous comments that it is just a way to bring in more Arab nations into Abraham accords and give Israel closer ties and influence with their neighbors.
But if he actually was considering actually helping to rebuild Gaza and have some control of it (which I don’t believe) what do you think a deep water naval base in the Middle East would be worth? An astronomical amount!! We could reach out and touch Iran without a problem and keep those jihadists at bay. TDS is a terrible thing. Keeps you from seeing out of the box potential solutions.
Simple - the rest of the World stands against Israel and the genocide on Gaza and the Palestinians. Now Netanyahu gives Trump a Golden Pager. Think about that for a moment - So now Netanyahu expects Trump to stop, drop everything, and call whenever he pages him. Trump is on a short leash. Truly a sick sign of who really is in charge. Absolutely despicable. People need to wake-up and smell the coffee - Trump's head is up the backside of the Israeli Lobby.
Nations at the end of The Book of Revelation, in the Bible, are judged guess on what standard?? If they were for or against Israel. Trump has made correct choice.
The Gaza Real Estate Blue Prints include a very sophisticated US Military Base, with a balcony view of the a Mediterranean Sea, by the way, (the base is for safety reasons only ok) 😂 who can argue that purpose right?
Running below the base will be the tunnels of fortune. This base will ensure a legitimate doomsday Armageddon WWIII show down between the East and West, when Russia and China fly high over the abyss and drop the cylindrical oasis of gas and fire. Then finally Mr. Bonner and his cronies can scoop up all of the stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial for under 10 Argentina Pesos Amico!
Yes, Billy boy, and if Trump said he wanted to build a golf resort at the top of Mt McKinley (or Denali if you prefer), you would take him seriously and write a whole column about how that wouldn't work. How about writing about a serious issue - like the progress of Trump's team in dismantling the bureaucracy? Or is that too much work for you to dig into those details.
King Hussein of Jordan kicked the Palestinians out and Jordan is relatively stable , clean and reasonably prosperous. I wouldn’t take in any people from Gaza back , the Egyptians have enough problems without them - so why would they want them there. Trump plays Chess three steps ahead - he paints a picture of how glorious Gaza could have been ( white sand beaches and condos like Miami ) so he shifts the blame for the state it is in right back to Hamas and Iran. Beirut Lebanon is similar ( the Paris of the mideast ) as it used to be called before decades of terrorists ran and destroyed it. We won’t be there ever - no one wants our troops there killed to Make Gaza Great Again.
He wants the Arab countries in the hook to rebuild it - and he knows this. Israel and the US will not - only idiots like Biden, Blinken , Power and goofballs in the Atlantic Council etc would agree to that.
Yes, Trump redeveloping Gaza is the craziest idea yet, and all the neighbors of Gaza will surely hate it and maybe be stimulated to join together to come up with a better plan that heads the Crazy Bad Orange Man off at the pass. Something historical enemies could never have cooperated on except for the common threat of Trump Real Estate Development on their doorstep/ LOLOLOLOL
I appreciate the fact that Bill doesn't hesitate to call out what he views as hypocrisy regardless of the person/party committing it. Great analogy of East Baltimore to Gaza. And a fun memory of a favorite Western.
Bonner you are writing so much misinfomation re: Trump. He said he will not send troops, the surrounding countries will pay for the restoation. There are two lies that you pound on. What is your solution, if you are so self proclaimed smart, share with the world. Two state has NOT worked for over 50 years. Are you jealous of the man, bias or a combination of things. Or is it something else. You should listen to the majority of Americans. Some may even be a lot more knowledable than you. Maybe??
Got to admit He, that is B.B. , get You to write in . There will always be a devils advocate on any subject matter in this world. Not saying that You or B.B. are the devils advocate. Just that there are always going to be opposing views . That is life on this planet.
You could make it simple, Trump comes up with an extremely dumb ass idea; you don’t have to make it personal. There have been a series of dumb ass ideas, in The Middle East, over the last 70 years. I hope the world hates America and closes down 250 bases. I don’t care about the world, I care about Americans.
One of the worst ideas and accomplishments has been watching the total destruction of everything that existed in Gaza, over 18 months, with the intent, from the beginning, of eliminating 2.5 million people, with US weapons. Everyone thought it was a great idea, Jews applauded, ridiculed any against it, shut down free speech. It must be something in the water or at least you have to wonder about religion and man’s concept of God.
Let’s face it, the world is a crazy place; it’s been an increasingly crazy place and people cause it. “The Best and Brightest” wrap it up with colorful meaningless stupidities, platitudes to the absurd.
We are all crazy, 🤪 the cacophony of craziness has reached a crescendo of the intolerable.
Maybe Trump is using the absurd to point out absurd.
Yes , if We lived in a perfect world. You may think it is an excuse, but there is always 2 sides to the story. I do write to convince any body but to show My perspective and You show Yours. Am I wrong? Maybe.
America needs to be taken down a notch?!?! Bill, where have you been for the last 4 years? Or 20, for that matter? You seem to have an extreme case of TDS. You should see your psychiatrist more often, or find a new doctor. You seem more unhinged by the day.
I've got a question for someone. In terms of your best guess, are treasuries bought at treasury direct safer than a federal money market fund (at Vanguard, for instance)? I'm thinking on this as related to the information in The Great Taking.
Give it a rest, the good that will come out of this Administration far exceeds anything that the last pile of crap could have ever wished for. As usual, Egypt, I have no idea what you're talking about - but it's all good.

Yes and no, but many a time things are done and one does not realize that what was done was not on Your schedule.
DH: That’s a good excuse. That’s why you have important people working for you who should know these things or who can check them out for you.

Point out the absurd. . Sorry.
I'd rather see USA buy Greenland and build out a ski lodge.
Move the Fakestinians to settle in Maui, LA, and Maine.
