Over time elites ‘solve’ more and more problems. Their problem solving inevitably brings directives, statutes, agencies and commissions, along with fees, jobs, power, and more wealth — for themselves.
Spot on at least in my experience with the DoD. Up to Obama's term the division I worked for in the Navy did decent work and on time. I covered for my manager at a base management meeting. The civilian technical director (TD) and base CO said things would be different from now on, almost all promotions would go to minorities and woman. I still remember when a white male manager asked if it wouldn't be better to promote the best and the TD's answer was what division and branch are you from? Soon after that, almost all management and senior positions became DEI. Soon after that the quality went way down and schedules slipped all over. A lot of the DEI managers had no experience and were promoted because they checked a box. They also started adding overhead staff DEI positions and it was taking longer and costing more to do work. More government is never the answer.
Yes Bob, the DEI(didn’t earn it) creatures are now running our country and most of our government. Harris being the prime example of one who was not voted in, but “Placed” in most positions due to her color, gender and anti-American values and views. This creature from the black lagoon could now be president and that should horrify even the most ignorant of Americans, but then again, looking at the students protesting for a people and ideology who want nothing less then the destruction of America and death to all in it. Self loathing creatures created by the same elite “They” that Bill explains above. They who will end America and their own vile existence…
“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, ‘Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.’”
SL: How disgusting you have come. Look at her real life then compare it to Trumps. There is no comparison! We all know Trump’s disgusting history. You should quit making up stories..I thought you were better and smarter than that!
C Eti: Sorry, I don’t know what R POratS!! means. But don’t bother to explain…I’m sure it wasn’t anything good! If you can’t read Trumps history as a business man and former president..then you’re hopeless.
It took Americans 30 years to figure out what contractors have been talking about for the last 40 years.
No one is entering the trades seemingly only those who are incapable of learning coupled with a poor work ethic. The end result is not only are technicians few and far between, the entire industry has been turned on its side. I would venture, 80% of trade technicians have no clue how anything actually works in its entirety. HVAC is 99% focused on replacing instead of repairing because fake money allows for massive waste. The Green Movement is a smoke screen that has saved the technical industry from collapse. 25 years ago if a technician said something could not be fixed they'd be tossed out the door. Fake money and unlimited credit, home equity lines of credit, Federal rebates and tax credits have destroyed the work ethic. Why learn to fix when one can make a lot more selling new? It has gotten so bad, contracting to survive has broken the industry positions down into the micro level it's all about team think and team do. No one person has a grasp of the end goal.
Now don't get me wrong, the new world of fake money and team think has created a niche market occupied by only a handful of companies. Contrary to popular belief the multimillion dollar spec homes and all new construction are not well built or well conceived. HVAC mechanical systems are designed by the installer. 90% of the time these fellows choose to cut corners to win the bid. BID means Beat Idiots Deal. The end result is the need to hire folks with the IQ of a fence post. The small niche I've fallen into is after the sale, we do our best to make these systems less bad or redesign and start over. We found getting a little dirty, maybe getting cut or bruised is long forgotten when you're making $200k a year, while working 4 days a week.
The best part we don't advertise, we do not bid against other contractors. Your dream house is a nightmare? This is what it will cost.
The sad part is when a college graduate with $100k of debt applies for a job, but is unable to mentally commit to waking up at 7am and do a days work. We do not allow personal phones on site, that it seems is a deal killer. Fake money has allowed college students to earn $20 an hour in fake work positions because even Starbucks can't find hires. This liberal young generation is about to be replaced by tens of millions of migrants, who will work for a few dollars a day under the table. Trump is not going to deport those who want to work, he's a businessman. Harris is more interested in flooding the nation with migrants who will cause more trouble for the government to solve.
I guess you better learn to communicate in 128 different languages, too. Get some of that cheap labor market. Heck they'll pay you train illegals but not American citizens. Bribery and extortion works very well apparently when it's government work.
Forgetting about the principles of cooperation based upon the foundations of civil liberty, freedom and so forth. Because your government is nothing more than a college educated prostitute.
Harris is interested in flooding the nation with migrants who will vote Democrat. They aren't skilled, educated or smart enough to understand that voting that way will turn this place into the places they left. Ask people in Springfield, Ohio how much fun it is just to drive around town nowadays.
You have thoroughly and eloquently described the state of contracting in these United States and how and why it got that way. We don't bid work either. We'll only respond to RFP's where we know the decision maker(s) are honest brokers. It's nice to be niche!
This post should be framed and hung in every highrise office tower cubicle.
And every bullshit college course classroom.
And every government redtape generating bullshit office.
And every 'news' room.
And, of course, every elite golf club house.
Is it any wonder the working person doing useless time consuming meanless 'work' feels that his work does not matter and living is just exchanging time for money?
How many people feel satisfied with doing their jobs?
How many think they doing essential work?
The elite enjoy a better lifestyle, but do they feel complete?
I was a fire fighter for 35 years until I was too old to go out to emergencies.
My job was satisfying. I felt like I was doing something that actually mattered.
Before becoming a firefighter I did a number of deadend jobs that gave me no satisfaction at all.
To be fair, not all jobs can give fulfillment. Many jobs are spirit killing. Even the self employed often feel like a cog in a wheel.
Not everyone is equipped to make a difference.
Not everyone wants to make a difference. They just want to have a decent job that does not ruin the world and yet pays enough to pay the bills.
People fall into most jobs. They do not plan for the job they hold. They do not study for their jobs.
Even fewer seek or find their calling.
What I think is important is to search for one's calling and then become that person.
Work only has meaning to an individual if it fills a genuine need in oneself and/or society.
It is true that many, if not most, jobs and work are just churning and a waste of precious time and resources.
It is also true that a lot of humanity doesn't want to work at all! They only do it because they do not want to starve or have their family starve.
The elite need to examine their role in society and determine what is actually needed and then lead society to better goals. Since most elite just like to wallow in their wealth instead of making a better world, I do not hold a lot of hope for a new paradigm among the elite.
We little people just go about our daily routine in constant discontent and the elite live their lives in constant indulgence.
And so it goes until the system fails. Which, of course, it is doing.
Very well said Tom, and thank you for your service in the Fire Department 🙏 You wisely stated “The elite enjoy a better lifestyle, but do they feel complete?” We know that answer because the only things that bring us happiness are our families and work. We the people may not always love our jobs, but we do it to the best of our abilities for those we truly love, our families. The system is failing due to the lack of family structure in America, as 50% of children have been born for decades in a one parent home, and the government is their only source of income and have become their father’s. A dysfunctional corrupt government as your daddy is a perfect recipe for disaster, which of course we are witnessing(all elite created) 🤔 I personally know many of those so called “Elite” and wouldn’t trade my life with anyone of them. They have so much fake money and “Things” but all lack what we have, and it’s why they will always be miserable and incomplete as humans…
Definitely no debate brother, money can buy comfort, but I know many comfortable people who are absolutely miserable. Kind of happens when you’re God is cash, you tend to worship fake idols with fake money, and miss out on the simple things that bring true happiness 😊
I read a good book on "Bullshit" on my Amazon Kindle and tried to find and recommend it here. Apparently, there are tons and tons of books entitled bullshit this and bullshit that, so there was too much bullshit and I couldn't find it. Sorry.
Quite possibly the best work I've ever read. Maybe that's because, much like B.B. has fully noted, there comes a time when you simply call a spade - a spade. This is a masterpiece of experience and thought. It's too late to change what has already been done and the elitists aren't teaching this hindsight in our kid's school. What to do? I'm 54 and had a difficult life because my parents sucked. But I didn't let that stop me from believing in myself. Sure I made mistakes but the punishments were demoralizing. The fact of the matter is most people go through that too and decide to take their pain and perspectives and unleash it's furry upon the rest of us instead of learning from it. What's more concerning is that most often they decide to get involved with public services. Not sure what that has to do with the price of eggs, but you can take that for what it's worth.
Now I understand this upcoming generation. Thank you for writing this. I made my employment (whatever I did for work) satisfying because it always had people around which I made them matter. Working and living matters to our Higher Source of Life.
The WORLD has always had ELITES, maybe it came from war, physical power, gift of gab, what ever and the elites have always been on top and had the best of what was available at the time. Today is
not any different, the elites eventually, are killed, over thrown, etc. and a new round begins, which looks a bit different at the start but is not. The flow and speed of communication today creates more
fear and attitude of "I DO NOT CARE". Bear in mind that today MOST communication is B.S.
The alternative to training people specifically to manage health care facilities is that the doctors do those jobs. How many hospital directors do you know who are MDs? Is that the best use of skills and training for someone who has spent 15 years studying an ever-narrowing branch and specialty in health care? Wouldn't it make more sense for hospitals to hire someone who has specialized in hospital management? Asking for a friend.
And what about the electricians, plumbers, welders, carpenters, framers and roofers? Most of them are immigrants. I have renovated 3 properties this year, one on the east coast and two on the west coast. All immigrant labor, many barely speaking English. Their work has been diligent and generally of high quality. Given that the screen-addict genearations are allergic to real work, to non bullshit work, what would we do without them?

Hola brother Steve. Don't sell short Kammy's skills while kneeling as having contributed to her early "rise" in politics...

The largest increase in health care costs is the dramatic increase in administrative personnel.
Same in higher education.

Sad that I can only give it one "like".
So, I'll just add this. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Among the b.s. jobs, you omit the representative of the 21st century...influencers.'

‘Bullshit jobs’ are unfortunately funded by the taxes paid by those with ‘real jobs’ which is wasted wealth and capital.
