Growing wine at 8,421 feet is not the hard part.
The hard part is getting it down.
The road out of the valley is dry riverbed for long stretches and single-track for most of the rest. It crosses water that isn’t there in June and is very much there in February.
Members of my team have come close to not making it back at least twice. Currency swings, tariffs and freight do the rest of the damage, on paper.
I mention it because it explains our returns policy, which people find odd.
If your first box arrives and you don’t care for it, tell us within thirty days. We’ll refund you in full, and you keep the wine. All six bottles. We don’t want them back.
That isn’t generosity, it’s arithmetic. Those bottles came over that road once already. Shipping them back across a continent to sit in a warehouse would cost more than the refund and help nobody.
I’d rather you drank them, decided we weren’t for you, and passed the name to someone who might feel differently.
Which means the risk here is almost entirely ours. Six bottles from the Calchaquí Valley and beyond, $225 for the first shipment instead of $275, shipped as soon as you join. $275 a quarter after that, and you can cancel before any shipment goes out.
