39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
-Matthew 5:39-48
Everyone is looking for a Rambo christ, or Superman, but the real one is better and eternal, and all those that receive His spirit will never die.
Oh the ever-present suffering that exists on earth. This is what is at the heart of the book of Job. However, unlike Job who could not logically explain his suffering we can posit at what is behind the evil. "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm."
Yes. And poor God, who does not sleep, and has to see the results of selfishness on His creation. He is continually working to put an end to the suffering - through us! When Laodicea is finally ready, it will happen.
Well done, Alex. Seminal counsel by One who bore burdens and gave comfort, while doing nothing to change the civil or religious governments of His world.
"while doing nothing to change the civil or religious governments of His world."
That is arguable. What is NOT arguable is that He indeed had a significant impact on the civil AND Religious "governments" of nearly all who came after Him, even unto this day...
The "Rich Men North of Richmond" is thankfully a big wake up, not woke up, sign. Good luck Joe, Fauci, Collins, Garland, Janet, von der Leyen, Macron, Trudeau, Google etc. Your constituents have been spending some time examining, questioning and understanding your motivations and actions.
Is this the trigger that brings together a groundswell of public outcry? Changing decades of power, abuse, and compromise of the federal government will not happen without massive attention during the election to find the best statesmen and women.

Thanks Bill for your thoughts. I agree with Greenwald... affiliations and alliances are moving around. "Rich men north of Richmond" the DC crowd, yes, but let's not forget the NYC crowd or the San Fran crowd. Put them all together and you have the most contemptuous crowd you can imagine. They decided they are bigger and better than America-- their globalists and they don't cotton to little ole Constitutional Republic America... they'd like to rip it apart and put it back together in their image. Ah, but people are awakening, slowly, frustratingly slowly, and they tire of the virtue signaling from the self appointed "so called elites" who are more than happy to spend our money and make us debt slaves. Me, I've had good success, professionally and personally, and will stick with the wise, honest and ethical Americans. After all, unlike the "contemptuous crowd" they've retained their humanity and humility. DC, NYC and San Fran will soon find themselves in a dangerously hostile world without any good ole Americans standing behind them. The winds of change are blowing but the contemptuous crowd doesn't notice. A thick skin of arrogance shields them, or at least they believe, from the wind and the real world... we'll see...
Yes, Establishment versus Non-Establishment. Nothing to do with race, gender, climate, or any other BS the self-anointed elite conjure up to keep us fighting amongst ourselves. I sincerely hope I live long enough to throw some dirt on the Uni-Party's grave :-)
20 million YT views, 8 million Spotify streams, #1 on the download charts, all in 9 days. God bless Oliver Anthony for saying it in a song. The reaction vids on YT don’t lie. It’s not black vs white, left vs right. It’s us vs them rich men north of Richmond. The “silent majority” have a voice, and now we know it’s shared by millions. Could this be the new battle hymn?
I feel the same way. A simple little song with a cry for help that is resonating all over the country. Perhaps this will help shape the election. Much has to change.
MARK, Thanks for that. I was raised too conservatively to be a protestor in my young days. I've followed the trials and tribulations of those who attempt to speak truth to power. I've even done some local protesting, not as a flag waver, but on committees where big decisions were made affecting real people. What a sad history. My book Images of America: Port Chicago follows a small town, and reveals my learning curve on one such story. I listened to a mind-blowing video on current international affairs today. Not related to the present subject but I think you might find it as fascinating as I did. If so, email me at dlmcleodsr@gmail.com
" The U.S. has seen a record increase in homeless people this year as the Covid-19 pandemic fades . . . " -- Bill quoting The Wall Street Journal today
As a youngster many, many years ago, I asked my elders why the US was the world policeman.
Their answer placated me for the longest time: As the only power left standing after WW II, just the US and, later, its allies in NATO and SEATO could confront the threat of annihilation of the entire Western World by the USSR.
When the USSR collapsed, our military shrunk. It stayed that way until a cadre of religious extremists -- few had ever heard of -- perpetuated 9/11. Unable to attack individual people, we invaded instead two dirt-pile countries neither a threat to us.
Not a student of geopolitics, I can only opine that our military might is now defending the status quo, a regime of nations which have greater freedoms, individual and economic, than would be available to them if subjugated by China, N Korea and Russia
Tricky mission since China is responsible for sustaining our way of life. After all, they own a massive quantity of our government's IOU's, loans our Federal government had to make to pay for the panoply of services we demand but for which we refuse to or can't pay.
If he and I were sharing a beer, then after he proclaimed how daft we were to dismiss Putin's line in the sand -- No NATO Next Door to Russia - then I would respond with raised eyebrows and a rigid back.
And with vocal verve I'd point out, Putin, not content to just snatch some Russian speaking edges of Ukraine and its Crimean Peninsula, mounted a full scale invasion to absorb all of Ukraine
If he achieved his objective, then I'd tell David Stockman, Putin would unilaterally put NATO next door to Russia; not the other way 'round (you'll recall Poland -- a NATO member -- shares a border with Ukraine)
I'd also bang my beer stein on the table by telling him that he wrongly paints NATO as the aggressor. Of all people, he should know NATO is a defense pact; not a batch of invaders
And get this: Comrade Putin -- without capturing much more of Ukraine than Russia already possessed -- now has NATO sharing a very long border with Russia
He single handily caused this when he frightened Finland into joining NATO.
David Stockman should write stories how Putin will go down in history as among the most incompetent invaders at least so far in modern history (joining company with Bush & Chaney who invaded Iraq and Afghanistan for reasons few recall)
However, his remarks about the need for NATO would have been persuasive had not Putin's invasion given it a boogeyman akin to the USSR.
NATO, I forecast, will now endure as long as Russia has nuclear weapons and a penchant for dictators
I live in the uk, and have cameras around which scan your number plates to ascertain whether you have paid your taxes on registration etc! On the face of it I have no issue!!! But I have received an email this afternoon informing me of the impending installation of these cameras on a private industrial estate on which I do business.... the mad world of selling nuts and bolts! I m furious !! And I don’t really get furious..... it’s the state slowly creeping up on us. Bit by bit.
The country has been in a decline for years. Recently, it has accelerated. Values are not being taught at home and the school system has only made things worse. As long as we have a dishonest media there will be no accountability. Critical thinking is not taught and therefore no one except a few questions the narrative. Unless and until we change that things will continue to get worse.
Far longer than years. Unless you think a good life is only having enough money, safety, security, and no trannies. I'm sure no one here thinks that(?).
Dan asked for comments and I believe that the US will devolve into four distinct sectors. Specifically, the Euro sector which is the Eastern seaboard, the Asiatic sector which is the West Coast, Canadian sector to the north and Latin sector to the south.
« Un-Civilizing America »and noticed what you wrote at chapter 7 page 221 :
« But it took us 30 years to understand (and still only partially and imperfectly) just how pernicious this new money system was. And it would take us more than 30 pages to explain it. »
You should probably ignore it, but there was actually someone who had it all figured out already back in 1965.
Charles de Gaulle not only had already understood everything, but he even dared to declare it publicly, and officially during a filmed conference of which I found the archives.
It was February 4, 1965 !!!!
For those curious to see it with their own eyes, here is the link to the video in the original version with English subtitles.
No wonder he's an honest statesman always hated, dismissed and then fought fiercely and sometimes even "secretly" by especially Roosvelt and then Johnson.
At the end of the video he even gave the solution to this problem that the Brics will probably implement soon some 58 years later.
Thanking you for all the work already done and that which remains to be done.

Far be it for me to get conspiratorial, but take a look into all of those individuals birth names.
There's a bit of a pattern there...

And if they’ve taken our votes and replaced them with their ballots, where do we go from here?
