When Biden was in the White House, we knew for sure someone else was pulling the puppet strings behind the curtain. We don't know who but they were but we know they weren't elected by "we the people".

In the current case, we do know who is pulling the strings, DJT ! I don't always like what he says but at least I know who is driving the ship. I also believe he is trying to get the USA back on a good track. The results are still TBD.

I rather doubt there is a single western politician, including DJT, who is “pulling the strings” in the traditional sense of that term. Personally I think Trump is pulling the strings that the globalists and technocrat billionaires want him to pull, enriching himself and his family in the process. I do not believe he is acting independently. He has powerful influencers who are controlling him.

...of course.

Not unlike other persons in powerful positions.

Trump is a scoundrel and blessing...

A curse and a prayer...

Trump's election victory is all because of Democrats...

Perhaps they should've offered a candidate with brains.

You mean Joe biden :-)

"The use of the justice department to hassle opponents" Hey Bill, were you not present during the obummer administration where they were targeting conservatives en masse? how about the Obiden administration targeting Christians? You really have blinders on, TDS blinders.

"Bondi, Noem, Bessent, Hegseth et al merely praise the Great Helmsman, who...realizing that nothing of substance is being discussed, may be asleep at the wheel."

What?

The "Great Helmsman's" polices are being implemented.

The discussion was yesterday; the substance is about reversing years of liberal BS...

You are speaking truth to a demented TDS suffering old timer. He has nothing better to do than stir up discontent. :-)

Actually, I think Bonner believes what he writes! Sad.

Another Bonner narrative supported only by his selective use of analysis he agrees with. He never mentions the Trump administration's deregulation of the economy, efforts to increase our energy supply of reliable energy sources (natural gas, oil, coal, nuclear power including SMR, etc.) while aggressively arguing against the global warming/climate change catastrophe scenarios, rooting out corruption, bringing trillions of dollars in investments into the USA, etc. Bonner is correct that "a fascist economy is essentially orchestrated from the top by its political authorities". In other words, unlike its political cousins, communism and socialism, which band private ownership of property (at least in theory), fascism allows private property but then tells you what to do with it. Ownership is an illusion.

On the other hand, many of the Trump administration's policies (but not all), do the exact opposite and allow people and companies to keep their wealth and invest where they see fit. He is not shutting down pipelines like Biden or increasing regulations like Biden, etc. So, let's stop with the fascist analogies. For the most part (again, not in all aspects), the Trump administration is doing the opposite. Far from perfect, but lightyears better than what ANY Democrat would do.

Other political elements — 1. the growing control of the press... 2. the use of the Department of Justice to hassle opponents...3. creation of a huge prison system for detaining 4. (possibly forever?) illegal immigrants, 5, with a large federal paramilitary force ready to do the president’s bidding...and a 5. Department of War with a $1.5 trillion budget,

Indeed:

1. Like the NY Times? The complete and total MSM democratic Bible, also the Washington POST? Hw about the leftist orgs CBS, NBC, ABC.

2. Oh Yea I get it! Like two bogus impeachments, half a trillion $$$ settlement by the former taxi driver judge in cahoots with that bitch Leticia? What about the bogus rape in a dressing room saga. All bullshit all driven by the Obummer, Bidum DOJ’s. Yet you remained silent.

3. Right, in your world we should let them run wild, killing and raping etc. The fact that they are illegal (law breakers) had no bearing on your morals, All in is fine, get them on welfare, EBT’s, free phones, free health care whilst our own people freeze in the streets. I often wonder about you and your lack of morals.

4. More of your bullshit speculation

5. This I can agree, think tanks around the country (US in case you are wondering) have suggested the current military can be sustained at ~$600 billion

Love it when you speak intelligently about financial happenings, even when you tie it to politics to sustain your position. Hate it when you speculate and pump out bullshit.

Well Working Stiff, I remember that there are 2 sides to the coin. We are still allowed to flip the coin and choose what it pertends to say.. So what I am saying about Myself is that this coin is caught up in a crack and will not fall to one side or the other. Or that I prefer to remain neutral. I will point out the good, bad, and the ugly when I see these occur . But most of the time I prefer to watch on the side lines. I always enjoy the opinions and sometimes the facts that are presented on this site of rebuttals etc. Freedom and liberty still reign to a certain extent.

John P Gallien's avatar

But from Bonner, it's mostly bullshit.

Thank God we have Bill Bonner to explain what facsism looks like. And… the democrats invented lawfare. What our current justice department does just looks like it, because we’ve been lulled into thinking that not upholding laws is normal by the liberals and their power-hungry-at-all-cost attitude. Bonner’s pearls of eloquent wisdom would lull sheep into believing anything. There’s nothing fascist about what Trump’s doing. Only leftist libtards spout that stuff… oh and Bonner the “libertarian”. Just give us the data, not the op-ed.

Actually in my opinion the Peace President has become the War President. As Mr. Bonner explained the Trump administration one could be construed as having a fascism bent. This is not to day that Trump is in a class of his own. He isn't.

"Just give us the data"

I just don't know how Bill can give us the data without his "op-ed".

Of course I for the most part agree with Bill's "op-ed" information.

I voted for Trump, I just don't choose to "follow him to the center of the sun"

If my understanding of fascism is correct, it is a government system that allows private ownership of property, but has the power to control private property through taxation, regulation and confiscation. It is a form of collectivism, but unlike its collectivist cousin communism whereby the state, in its pure form, owns all property and all the means of production, fascism allows private property but controls it. If my definition is correct, the United States government is a mixture of capitalism, fascism and communism/socialism.

It seems apparent as we veer off our capitalist roots toward more and more fascist and communist policies, we sow the seeds of our own destruction and forever alter our original principles of liberty and limited government authority.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

"as we veer off..."

-

NYC is perhaps "the" litmus test to see how differing classes of peoples react to Zorro's socialist/communist policies.

If NYC implodes rather quickly, perhaps the "veering" will correct itself...

"Most people would say ‘no;’ we are not fascists.". Agreed to a point.

But following the release of the Epstein files , most would say your PE*O's.

Remember when Elon tried to save those kids that were trapped in a tunnel. And then called the guy who was trying to help "the pedo guy". Seemed strange word to use at the time but now... it all makes sense. Every accusation is an admission.

Bill's avatar

The fascists are at the local level. Look at all the cities who control every single board, shingle, minimum wage, dog walking taxes... I read that the city of kansas city is requiring every home built with ev chargers. The home builder said it had $60000.The price of a house along with its related regulations.

I believe I referred to the movie Schindler's List awhile ago on this As a Good example of fascism. You say good examples at the federal level. Far , far , better examples are in your own backyard. People need to pay attention.

Paul McGinn's avatar

Bill, easily verified. Biden held 9 cabinet meeting in 4 years. Trump has held 7 or possibly 9 in one year. During the meeting I’m laughing because he’s funny I’m sure you and others are cringing 😂😂😂😂😂

Patrick H Neff's avatar

A great one, Bill. "As we know, elections this year...and in 2028...will leave the voters in ultimate control...not the ‘Big Man.’ In the absence of a real emergency — war, insurgency, crash, depression". You can bet we will have one or more of these real emergencies to cancel any and all upcoming elections. Trump will be dictator for life, just like Putin and Nuttyyawhoo.

A least that is what I would have happen if I was in his shoes. He is diligently working on this right now.
