Frankly, I don't know how Bill does it. Hopefully, he rarely, if ever, reads the Comments section. The U.S. Government because of its size and breath is the most corrupt and evil the World has ever known. It also has the best propaganda machine and spits out the most consistent BS known to man (no offense ladies!). And, people herein believe the U.S. Government is the Light and the Way. Trump is Mother Teresa reincarnated. How does that happen? Doesn't anyone see what is actually going on? Are you all that blind? No doubting Thomas? Yep - Ol' Bill is an idiot. Ol' Bill loves the liberals! Ol' Bill hates the righteous conservatives! If Ol' Bill would just believe - understand everything is going to be good again! Camelot is coming back! Ol' Bill just doesn't get it! Ol' Bill - we all want a sermon from you telling us Trump and Musk are going to part the seas and lead us into the fantasy world our minds have conjured up. Please! Please! Ol' Bill - give us some fairy dust to believe the "magic" is coming back! Or at least pass out the lemonade! As always, One Man's Opinion

Two responses:

1. Bill is soft on Trump compared to the lie counter who kept track of the outright prevarications Trump made during his first term.

I don't recall his name; just that he worked for the Wash. Post. He diligently explained weekly why Trump was completely wrong. I also recall seeing a total of Trump's lies. It was somewhere in the 5000's.

2. Missing is the Democratic Party's solution to our debt crisis. I have yet to see this group of elected officials so much as admit there is a spending problem.

Worrisome. It suggests this group believes there's no problem apart from the erratic way Musk and his teenagers are whacking and slashing head count

Thanks LSO! I bet he reads most of them, which is why he never responds:). No matter how much we hope, the preponderance of the evidence, and as you so aptly point out, is that the empire is coming to an end. And it needs to,p! Tthe corruption and rot is at every level, from the federal, to the state, to the county, and to the city. I live in California and you can’t wipe your mass without a permit and inspections along with an environmental report. The rot is goes too deep, it is not just government, it is all our NIMBY neighbors who dictate what we can and cannot do. Like the woman hauled off to jail for making her young son walk home from school. AND THAT WAS IN A RED STATE FOR CHRIST SAKES! I’m not sorry ladies.

Elon acts surprised that there are money printing machines in the federal government. He just found this out? Some research indicates that Musk's companies have received at least $38 billion in government contracts, loans, subsidies, and tax credits over the past two decades. Where did he think the money came from?

Bill (or his ghost writer) has joined the Dems propaganda machine. Listen to the full quote. It isn’t that Musk was surprised to find computers spitting out checks, what makes them magic was the fact they were autonomous. They weren’t communicating transactions with any other systems. Musk’s conclusion (he was talking to Ted Cruz) was that actual spending was probably 5% to 10% higher than officially reported. You can thank me later for clarifying that, Bill.

My point is that Musk has been the recipient of taxpayer dollars for years. Have you seen one instance in which Elon and his DOGE stooges have cut their own government contracts? Have you seen Trump do anything to end EV subsidies? Do you know Elon backed Obama and Biden? No chance Elon is playing the MAGA base to keep his government subsidies flowing? Back in 2020 Trump said Elon would beg on his knees for more taxpayer money for his EVs that don't go far enough. What happened to that Trump? As Tommy Edwards once sang "It's All In The Game".

I and the party of delusion? Au contraire mon ami. I'm in the camp of George Wallace - not the great comedian but the politician - There's not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties. Maybe I took to heart the old Trump who said Musk would have begged on his knees for more taxpayer money. What happened to that Trump who identified Musk as a Welfare Queen grifting off the taxpayers? Maybe I'm conflicted because the politicians and generals are telling me China is our enemy. Musk has billions of business interests in China and close relations with Chinese leadership. What's a citizen to think? Trump's boy Elon with access to all our records is also sleeping with the enemy. Oh the dangerous TikTok should be banned because of Chinese access to our data but Elon is no problem. Maybe if Elon's Tesla keeps crashing he will be forced to sell info to China - someone has to take care of his 14 kids and multiple baby mommas.

Elon may well be a "Welfare Queen" but at least he achieves with what he gets rather than the likes of deiNASA that can achieve little other than waste these days. Also, Elon's companies have employees and shareholders, it's not only Elon. Even if all of his companies were to somehow disappear, you think he wouldn't have enough to feed his kids?

I'm just joking about the baby mommas although I do find it amusing that conservatives who emphasize family values can support Elon.

My contention is that a guy who has received billions in federal tax dollars should lead us by example by cutting some of his contracts and ending EV subsidies. And that a guy with deep connections to China shouldn't have a security clearance that grants him access to our data.

Maybe you can tell me why I'm wrong.

I agree there may not be a difference between both parties, and that is where Trump may shine, because he was a full democrat supporter most of his life, and lived the corruption of the NY democrat machine. Elon was just another demented democrat his whole life and like Trump, can make a difference fighting the insanity that made them both very rich. America is coming to a head on collision with those of us who love her and the mentally ill who have sucked her dry. I’ve just been educating our dear readers on what they need to survive the coming attacks from the very sick leftists in America… In the meantime, I’ll just sit here, looking over these beautiful mountains and hopefully never have to defend my home, because it won’t end to well for the truly mentally disturbed morons who would make that mistake 😊 and don’t forget to buy the dip in crypto 🚀🚀🚀

My Dad saw that at the kitchen table and if I were older I think he would have killed me. I was defacing a hero. He

Sorry. I thought since Elon was in charge and was able to fire veterans via email he would have the decency to cut some of his own government benefits like the EV subsidies. I haven't seen one mention of scrutinizing the books of the Defense Department. But I have read that they haven't passed an audit in at least 7 years and that they were missing over $1 trillion before a plane just happened to destroy our records. We spend 10x what Russia spends on defense. Looks like it would be low hanging fruit but I have a feeling you will see a crack down on the Defense Department when he'll freezes over.

It’s easy to criticize Bill, so put yourself in Elons place. What would you differently? Somebody has to do the right thing with government waste. Who better than a person who help founded and run Pay Pal a financial payment system with checks and balances. Elon thinks in black and white or right and what’s wrong. His mind works to solve problems. Right wrong or indifferent it’s been and eye opener to the lack of responsibility and the horrible waste and abuse of tax dollars and spending by our political government to their pet projects and kick backs . Elon has X to get the message out because our Main Street stenographers don’t know how to report or worse it doesn’t meet their agenda. So the news gets omitted by distortion. Remember tariffs is not Elons deal. So please stop conflating the two issues of waste and tariffs. Doing the right thing takes courage not criticism . Criticism is the easy part. Why don’t you write an article to help the situation I would love to see your ideas. You’re a bright guy with a wealth of knowledge. Do better

While not going quite as far as you, Bill, you do have a good point about some aspects of Elon being clueless. But, then again, he was a Democrat for many years. He swallowed their ideology that they cared about "everyone", except that he didn't realize that to care for "everyone" actually means to care for "no one" in particular. Why do you think millions have died under communist regimes? Because positing the State/Society/Common Good first means that the individual is just a means to making these things great, and therefore the individual is expendable in this process.

A civilized society is a society that protects the rights of the individual because all effort comes from the individual first, sometimes and even often times in voluntary cooperation with other individuals. The individual is the building block to all success. Deny individual rights and as Bill notes, you "take away the threadbare cloak of civilization…and all you have is naked violence and hatred." Problem is Bonner never acknowledges that individual rights is the bedrock of civilization. Like Elon, he is lost in floating abstractions and not able to see the basic truth. But I think Elon has the intellect and the moral compass to discover the basic truth. Bonner? Seems like he's danced around the truth for a long time without discovering what it is.

This really is a new low for you, Bonner. All this does, however, is expose how petty, small-minded, and covetous YOU are. I’d say, you ought to be ashamed; but you have no shame. Or class.

I can only imagine you write tripe like that because you think it’ll piss off a lot of readers, and you enjoy that. But know, Bonner, it doesn’t piss me off. I actually pity you. I don’t care how rich you are; it clearly can’t buy you a soul.

When I heard trump appointed Elon and Swamy I had the usual quest..

I think it all begins w trump..certainly he knew Elon was going to be high profile mostly bc us gvt contracts ..and would b target of criticism from the left..but trump knew Elon could b trusted and was the man for the job..then Swamy left leaving Mr brilliant and his bright minions a go at it..ok so just what is the end goal and when does Elon team start making official reports on gvt spending and the trump team can start actually cutting?…I fear that trump isn’t going to make a difference here…Reagan and Clinton tried it w no significant changes..

As we all know spending cuts must b done …BB has written about this again and again..

So back to trump…get er done. I feel he didn’t explain well enough to American ppl and didn’t try diligently to bring in the other side..sure it would’ve taken more time to begin but it might have been a “smoother ride thru to the other side”...
