Medical staff in the US constantly state the Canadians are coming for medical services because they have to wait for 6 months for treatment in Canada, if they have cancer. Canadians use to come over to the US in a steady flow to buy gas. That's changed now but I'm not sure why. I love Canada, the territory and nature, the fishing, but from a money perspective forget it. Many of my friends that work their entire lives in the US for Dow are Canadians. While it is true, that according to Gallup, 20% of Americans would like to leave the country, with young women leading the way, probably because they do not understand the states wide consequences of Roe v. Wade. But the reality is that in 2025 only 0.0529 did in fact leave the country. And there are several reasons why they left and only one of those reasons was politcaly motivated. Everyone has their point of view and I'm OK with that. Lots of people decide based upon a party they may have agreed with for a long time and don't do much to explore different representations and then take their old party view. I examine all the views listen to the stories and then decide. Right now I'm on Trump's side despite his foolishness on some issues. Freedom of speech, property rights and the US constitution are important to me. I like the way Trump calls out the EU and their global warming / climate change.

I don't believe the 20% want to leave America for one second. I've never talked to anyone who wants to leave the country. Maybe you could find 20% in some cities, like NY, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, Seattle or Portland but I would never consider living in those cities. I can't take the hypocrisy. Those people have been living in left wing hell with homeless on their lawns, shooting up, or defund the police or the climate change mantra while driving around in Tahoes or Tundra's while their governor shuts down refineries. I've seen a lot of people moving to Jackson, Wy or Missoula, Mt. who come there and vote for the exact same stupidity they left California for, much to the detriment of their newly chosen community. I was born in Canada in the late fifties. I left for good in 1980 (Dual Citizen) and frankly would not return for any amount of money (…well almost…no, scratch that).
I left as the medical system was collapsing (Adults actually had to contribute then), when the doors to immigration opened far wider than Canadians could comprehend, and the “Canadian Culture” began diluting.
Canada now is a country I don’t recognize. The politicians at large have ruined the polite, respectful and beautiful place it once was.
