"During the four years of the Biden administration, by comparison, in the same sectors, the economy racked up 267,000 new jobs per month".

You mean after the idiots destroyed millions of jobs by shutting down the economy, and then RECOVERED some of the jobs during the ensuing 3 years?

Oh, NOW I see....such bullshit, Billy.

Michael Long MD's avatar

Also, what about Biden’s cooked Job numbers.

Cartero Atómico's avatar

All the federal economic numbers have been cooked for years. Both teams participate in the "Figures lie and liars figure" game. If inflation was calculated today like it was in 1980 it would be more than 8%. Same with the way unemployment is calculated. Shadowstats has unemployment at 24% if I was calculated as it was in 1980. Best advice is to not believe anything the government says, no matter which team of idiots is in power.

Our gubmint stats are bad but I love how people take Chinese stats as the word of G-d.

MoodyP's avatar

And every one of those months was later revised downward.

To the tune of 1.4 million negative revisions for 2024.

But hey. Whose counting. Right Bill?

John P Gallien's avatar

...and many of those jobs were government jobs.

Jimm Roberts's avatar

Actually, it's not so much a "point" as a fact.

Regardless, like previous Administrations the Biden Administration exacerbated our national debt, a debt our current Administration is enlarging.

Some factoids:

--The last time there were budget surpluses was 1998 - 2001 (none of which were used to reduce the national debt)

--The last time there was no national debt was 1835

Yes Biden was a corrupt brain dead moron, but that does not make Trump any better. They are all scum bags and you deserve them because you continue to comply and obey like good little slaves because you believe what you see on the screen. Vote harder!

CQWLNC's avatar

Absolutely disgusting summary of a wonderful tribute to America's 250th anniversary. You continue to quote ridiculous sources for your warped perspective of this country.

James ( Jim) Marshall's avatar

You may not agree with everything DJT has done but he has done more for America than any president in my lifetime, I am 79. Yes he is over the top sometimes but he is trying to bring America back from destruction. I don't want to think about what will happen if the socialist take over.

Jim Marshall

Cartero Atómico's avatar

But how do you bring back the US from destruction by running up over $10 trillion in debt and starting a war of choice -the choice was made by Netanyahu as Marco Rubio admitted- adding more to the deficit and driving up inflation? The words of an old Talking Heads tune echos in my brain - We're on the road to nowhere!

Harold Shaeffer's avatar

If you age out to my age (88) I believe you just might see "if the socialist take over". Washington DC, New York, California, and several State Capitols are a pretty good start. I'm happy that 77 is in my rearview mirror.

Tom Langdon's avatar

The 80's are great if you have your health.

Trump is a socialist.

Michael Long MD's avatar

Additionally, the over 50,000 US servicemen would beg to disagree that Iran is a bigger disaster than Vietnam?! What hell are you smoking??

James ( Jim) Marshall's avatar

100% correct! 50,000 dead, 250,000 wounded. Get your facts right Bill!!!!

John P Gallien's avatar

Why would Bill do that, especially when it comes to Trump. TDS..........

What was the necessity of stopping a nuclear program if there was no evidence that Iran was developing a nuke? But even if they were developing a nuke what gives the US the right to bomb them. No hypocrisy in the fact that we have nukes and our "greatest ally" has over 200 of them? Was it worth killing 160 school girls? Was it worth more inflation and more debt? Was it worth the lives of the US soldiers killed or wounded?

Angry Icebergs's avatar

Wow... Cartero... no evidence?

60% enrichment considered "highly enriched".

(60 percent enrichment is 99 percent of the effort needed to reach 90 percent)

Clandestine enrichment facilities 150 feet underground.

The IRGC sacrificing lives, infra structure, safety, food and water to retain the enrichment process.

And what about the sunset clauses in 2031?

If Iran has no intent, why would they demand the clause as an integral part of the JCPOA ?

Cartero Atómico's avatar

All US "intelligence" said they were not developing nukes. They have to bury their facilities because our "greatest ally" routinely bombs them. But here's the question: what gives the US the moral right to prevent other countries from acquiring nukes? What gives the US the right to kill innocent civilians to stop a nuclear program? What gives Israel the right to have over 200 nukes? But why would you be worried about Iran acquiring a nuke? Do you lose sleep because Nort Korea, Pakistan and India have nukes?

Angry Icebergs's avatar

Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself....

Yes... I worry Pakistan and India get out of control...

Yes... I seethe when Kim launches milliondollar rockets as his people starve.

Little Kim has big friends, only because he's nuked up.

-

"Rights"?

Stopping enemies and maintaining superiority has nothing to do rights....

Whose side are you on anyway?

Cartero Atómico's avatar

I'm not on the side of this government. And my theory is that if Washington and Jefferson had seen what this country has become, they wouldn't have bothered with a revolution.

But it's interesting that you don't worry about the religious fanatics in Israel possessing nukes. Read up on the Samson Option, then the attacked on the USS Liberty, and then the Talmud teachings about the goyim. You may be worried about the wrong country.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

Definitely not concerned about the wrong religion...

Muslim ideology is not in my best interest.

I find it revolting in many ways...

For every one Jew there are 121 Muslims...

Jews don't openly threaten my preferred occidental culture.

Muslims do...

Cartero Atómico's avatar

If you're concerned about Muslim extremist ideology you better question our great president. He recently had a state visit from Ahmed al-Sharaa. Ahmed is now the president of Syria after making the career move from the top ISIS headchopper with a $10 million US reward on his head. You better reconsider your support of our "greatest ally" too. Nuttyyahoo provided medical treatment to ISIS headchoppers wounded during the Syrian civil war. All good buddies behind closed doors!

Robert Hall's avatar

No, the "US intelligence" never said that Iran was not developing nukes. The CIA read the minds of the mullahs and the CIA concluded that “Iran did not really intend to build an actual nuclear weapon.” Are you assured by that weaselly, lawyerly assessment?

Cartero Atómico's avatar

I'm assured that Israel already has nukes, that they attacked the USS Liberty and murdered US sailors and that their Samson Option indicates that if they think they are going down they will respond by firing all their guns at once. (Shout out to Steppenwolf). So if Israel and the US can have nukes, who gives them the moral authority to deny other countries from acquiring nukes?

Angry Icebergs's avatar

When it comes to a nation surmounting power, what in tarnation are you rambling on about?

Moral authority?

-

"Hello Putin, this is your friend Donald"...

"Can we please deliver more Patriot missiles to Ukraine?"

"We know it upsets you"

"But with you guys lobing all those missiles into Kiev...

By-golly we just don't hold the moral stance to retaliate....

So, we are asking permission.

Because the U.S. wields so much power.

To be "moral", we had better tamp our strength down a bit.

-

"Hello Xi"

"Your ol' pal Donny here"

"I see you want to add some real estate to your portfolio"

However we would kinda like to keep it our family.

So... is it OK if we increase our firepower to counter yours?

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Don't get angry. Relax. This is like the Outer Limits. We have no control so just enjoy the ride. But I would like to know why the US and Israel can have nukes but not Iran. Especially knowing that Israel has already attacked us at least once and have the Samson Option -meaning if they think they are going down, you and I are going with them.

Speaking of Donnie, I did get a laugh seeing the Belgian players do the Donnie Dance after they scored the fourth goal.

Billy boy now reports on the weather because it's something negative that he thinks he can use against Trump. Apparently, he thinks his readers are idiots. Not to mention all the other ignorant comments in his column today pointed out on this page by others. Billy is scrapping the bottom of the barrel, but then again, he's been doing that for quite a while.

Fartin' Martin's avatar

Quoting a CNN news report? Yeah, they never twist anything around.

William Seldon's avatar

What reasonable, thoughtful person would believe: 1) that the current conflict in Iran rates as a defeat 2) that the situation is worse than the Viet Nam war... where tens of thousands of Americans were killed or maimed over many years and administrations or 3) that the economic cost is anywhere close to as significant? Bill, you undermine many objectively valid points you make with outlandish, unsupportable, biased comments and observations. Is your perspective becoming as regressive, on many issues. as a Sanders. Warren, AOC, or even Mamdami?

John P Gallien's avatar

But, but........let's give Billy boy a break. He only writes the things he writes because he's an idiot.

Bill, it’s so cheap to be deliberately obtuse! Stopping Iran’s nuclear program was not a necessary and incredibly important result?

Boy Bill did you get up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe instead of quoting the foul legacy media you should watch the UK and Australian FIFA utubers who sing the praises of the American experience and denigrate their own press for misrepresenting the American experience to the world.

I was wondering why Bill was so glum when speaking about Trump and America. Come on Bill, CNN? A news network so woke, so enraged that Trump and company are attempting to right the trade ship highjacked by the oligarchs in 1903 with the assignation of President McKinley, the same people who've attempted the same 3 times over with Trump.

For all his faults I think Trump is honestly attempting to free America from the Oligarchs in Europe, right the ship and restore the civic pride and the foundation of the American economic system. McKinley had applied tariffs to thwart foreign slave labor from Europe from effecting industry in America. Tariffs paid the nation debt to zero severing the nation from the control of the banksters. There was so much money pouring into the Treasury his administration required help in directing the money to build out infrastructure to further aid manufacturing.

The European oligarch's economic model is based on war, serfdom, ignorance, and poverty. The American system was based on education, freedom, wealth and personal innovation.

As witness, the world's fairs in every great city, were built and electrified in very short order, the world marveled at America. If the system had been left to it's own means the oligarchs in Europe would have been impoverished and very possible hung from trees for their purposeful malfeasance. This has all changed, shortly after assassinating the standing President, the Progressives were funded into office. The Federal Reserve banking system and income tax were created. Followed by capital gains tax, real estate tax, inflation, banking panics, the middle class was robbed. Credit and debt (economic slavery) replaced cash and Allodial title. The court system of Equity open to all people, was replaced with lawyers arguing cases, with judges setting case law based on unconstitutional rulings.

Most every burden American's struggle under where unconstitutional mandates. It is unconstitutional for place a burden on my name without my expresss agreement, and yet the bonds sold for the new million dollar park of 5 million dollar community pool are direct liens on the deed of my property. School tax; What public school does not rob the taxpayer to fund lavish pensions and paychecks travel etc for its administrators?

The UN an entire industry of Americans and foreign nations who have sold their souls to the oligarchs of the world, for money and prestige.

A personal note, I just returned from a stay in Portugal and Spain. Leaving out of Newark IA there was a disturbance in first class (I was not in FC) It seems UN employees carry a UN passport, they can board any flight (for free) with little notice, and commandeer any seat. The disturbance on our flight was caused by a nice gentleman bumped from his hard earned first class seat. Given two choices get off the plane or return to his new seat adjacent from my seat.

After some time he settled in and took my advice to watch the movie Shelter, the plot Jason Strathman kills his way to an oligarch in the UK government adding a bullet to his forehead while the man was in mid-sentence.

Oh Mr. Bonner - please try to get over yourself! Why not focus on the bright side of our Declaration for its 250th year and remember Calvin Coolidge's words regarding the beauty of it's finality...

And btw, I'd rather have less job growth than increased job growth of government funded and social services jobs...
