What Trump and Musk are doing would only forestall that, and depending on the degree of waste, fraud and abuse they find, might even save it from a major overhaul which otherwise will happen as a matter of course due to the way it's currently structured.

Steve, although the polling is encouraging, what is rarely ever talked about, and concerns me the most, is that the independents and libertarians are never allowed to come to the trough when it comes to election time. Sounds great, except for 2 Deal Breakers that show what you propose is a fantasy:
1. The leftarded in our Country and Political Structure have IGNORED the Constitution whenever it was convenient for them for at least the last 20 years, becoming acceptable during the Obamination.

I have to share a comment from my Daughter with everyone, pro or negative Trump, Bonner, Republican, Democrat, independent , or those that just don’t give a flip. Our daughter is 45 years old, happily married with 3 children between the ages of 19 and 26. She is an elementary school teacher and has been for the past ten years. Her husband has a good paying job working for one of the local TV stations as a sales rep. We were together last night and she just randomly said, “Dad, for the first time in a long time I have Hope. I had gotten to the point where I didn’t believe it would get any better for me, my family, and my children. I now have Hope and that makes a lot of difference in my attitude each and every day”. That was encouraging for a Dad to hear. I think most people in America had lost all hope in the future. Is America perfect, is Trump perfect, was Biden/Harris perfect, no, but I think the one ingredient that’s been missing is Hope for the future. With all of Trump’s flaws, he has created some hope for America and the future. When people have Hope, that can overcome a lot of bad decisions. Bill/Dan/Tom, I don’t disagree with your analysis and I take your financial advice seriously, but in the midst of all the doom and gloom, the sun will come up tomorrow. If you've read anything about it you'd know that the Social Security Trustees have been banging the pots and pans for almost 2 decades about it becoming insolvent by the mid-2030's. What Trump and Musk are doing would only forestall that, and depending on the degree of waste, fraud and abuse they find, might even save it from a major overhaul which otherwise will happen as a matter of course due to the way it's currently structured.
It's the same with Medicaid. Why not sit back and watch what actually happens before YOU ready-fire-aim? Show me one Social Security or Medicaid beneficiary that has been harmed as of now, just one. Sounds great, except for 2 Deal Breakers that show what you propose is a fantasy:
1. The leftarded in our Country and Political Structure have IGNORED the Constitution whenever it was convenient for them for at least the last 20 years, becoming acceptable during the Obamination.
2. For my entire adult life, Political Compromise has meant acquiescing to the demands & desires of the left. That is NOT compromise in any sense of the word, yet that is what the right has tried selling its supporters for decades. Those days are GONE.
So while what you write would definitely be the preferable course of action, your advice is at least 30 years too late.

I have to share a comment from my Daughter with everyone, pro or negative Trump, Bonner, Republican, Democrat, independent , or those that just don’t give a flip. Our daughter is 45 years old, happily married with 3 children between the ages of 19 and 26. She is an elementary school teacher and has been for the past ten years. Her husband has a good paying job working for one of the local TV stations as a sales rep. We were together last night and she just randomly said, “Dad, for the first time in a long time I have Hope. I had gotten to the point where I didn’t believe it would get any better for me, my family, and my children. I now have Hope and that makes a lot of difference in my attitude each and every day”. That was encouraging for a Dad to hear. I think most people in America had lost all hope in the future. Is America perfect, is Trump perfect, was Biden/Harris perfect, no, but I think the one ingredient that’s been missing is Hope for the future. With all of Trump’s flaws, he has created some hope for America and the future. When people have Hope, that can overcome a lot of bad decisions. Bill/Dan/Tom, I don’t disagree with your analysis and I take your financial advice seriously, but in the midst of all the doom and gloom, the sun will come up tomorrow. Bill, as you have mentioned, other civilizations and empires have gone to hell in a hand basket, but they survive i.e. Italy, Vietnam, Greece, etc. people are still living life, having families and community, etc. I don’t diminish any of the financial, cultural, or long term issues we face, but in the middle of all that, the everyday person needs Hope for their future and I think for the first time in a long time the average person has that Hope for their lives. I am a long time subscriber and will continue to be a subscriber. Love reading your comments and reports daily. I look forward to the future, come hell or high water. Living life and looking for the next great adventure.

Unfortunately, too many of the corrupt, mentally challenged, self loathing, America hating fellow citizens do their best to destroy all good for our nation and lives. Common sense, logic and law and order are coming back and America will go through some repairing pains, but should come out better than ever🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We need to find out who is really writing this column. It is not Bill. I couldn't even finish the missive. Bill could be sarcastic, but not this. If we want to talk about getting something done, you have been connecting the dots for 10 years now, and I can only speak for myself, but I am not any better for it. Yeah, I get it. It's the deficit, its Trump, Stay on the Sidelines, buy gold.
Only three explanations for Bonner's columns: dementia, insanity, or advanced TDS. He is truly useless. I only read his columns in order to read the much more intelligent comments on this page.
