Finally the truth! Friends, we're on the roller coaster; the bar has come down, locking us in, and the little train has left its boarding area. You and I are on the thing for the duration of the ride. The time to worry about the roller coaster and its shocks and thrills is BEFORE you board, NOT when you're on it. There is one thing that can change the arrangement: complete financial collapse. It's the only thing beyond their reach. I think the majority will choose "better Red than dead." Me? I find it liberating to realize I no longer need to waste time, labor, or, especially mental energy, on a failed enterprise. It's too bad it came to this, but we could literally not stand prosperity. Best always. PM

Paul, unfortunately, it’s the human condition - greed, envy, hate. Emotion trumps logic in this modern era. A return to founding principles might be able to save the republic but I think that hope is long lost. Enjoy your musings. KJ

Thank you for your response. I have told myself my entire life that complete understanding will be acquired on the other side of mortality. Of course, that might be a complete fabrication on my part, but perhaps a necessary one to get through this mortal "life". Best always to you and yours. PM

Man just can't stand happiness and prosperity. It has to be God's plan. None of the other animals on the planet are this stupid!! It is always a pleasure, Paul. Thank you, r

I rarely disagree with anything Mr. Bonner and friends have to say, but I would argue that this time around there is a huge difference between the parties: energy policy. If the dems win, the insane war on fossil fuels will continue, to the detriment of all economies, and all but the elites. If the Obnoxious Blowhard wins, we may be able to put the fantasy of the Green New Scam behind us. As the data centers that AI demands are built, the grid will need more reliable, not intermittent, power.

I find it hard to believe that most of us favor the war on the first amendment, the war on meritocracy, gender silliness, and the rest of the woke agenda. Then again, I live in Flyover America.

I invested significantly in the trade of the decade and took my initial investment monies when suggested. I would think the overall consensus by the Bonner investment community would be go dems and let the country meander until the 1 st turning. I might be around I drink Bonner Malbec 😀

Funny that the elites believe in climate change and are in favor of ending gas vehicles. Wouldn't it be nice if these geniuses led by example. They could ban all yachts and private jets before they force us to drive EVs. Maybe they could close their country clubs and plant trees in their place before they close down family farms.

Expand full comment

Actually, it is rightly theirs......remember what George Carlin used to say: "It's a big club, and you ain't in it.” We proles are not elite. The elites because they are saving the World (and some of us - after all, they need servants) bestow on themselves right to live better with vastly more material things. The few yachts and private jets are a mere knat in the overall climate picture. So, move along, nothing to see here..........

The elites largely believe in climate change. They are in the talking professions and not in the engineering professions. That seems to present a situation where energy production is undervalued and they think transportation should be more limited, although they are the ones travelling the most for business. Maybe they should travel because they are "more important" than the working class. AI seems to me to be a talking app.

It appears they are better off since Biden has been in office which seems to imply they hold financial assets. I remember distinctly reading a book which conveys that great depressions are the great equalizer in wealth disparity i.e. the wealthy lose the most and this author believed that depressions were caused by wealth disparity. Hence it could be construed that there are economic forces tending to support a stock and bond collapse with this thinking. This idea also is supported by the political class is so worried about an economic collapse that they spend like crazy what they don't have (savings) to both keep the economy "going" but also unknowingly create the pressure for collapse.

The Soviet Union collapsed. It is surprising it lasted so long. The French and Russian Revolution have much in common. The US fought a war of independence.

1789 and 1918 killed off the elites, ushered in a new ruling class. From devastation, Napoleon created, in a few short years, an empire; shakey, because England and monarchist warred against him.

Russian ruling class became the psychopathic, criminal Bolsheviks, like the Nazis. Russia had a civil war, starvation and the Gulags that processed 20 million a year to death, over 30 years. 40 million dead, the worthiest. They won WW2, another 30 million dead.

The interesting fact is that both societies survived because of average people, the rabble stepped up.

The Soviets included the worst rabble and Stalin

, a bottom feeder, ruled everything. Still the people survived.

Makes you believe in people and some invisible hand.

“We gave up trying to solve the nation’s problems a long time ago.”

No hope is a terrible place to be.

CA, that is how you know it is not at all about climate and saving the planet. All about money and pushing the funny money system to their benefit. Same with the wars and all the social shenanigans. Once you understand it’s not the policy goal they state it is the hypocrisy suddenly falls away. Cheers
