Re Joel’s note, add in that the state of Victoria is now attempting to ban gas in homes! In an honest world Australia should have some of the cheapest energy costs on earth. The elites have us starving at a feast.

Cooper Energy in their annual report mentions the Vic govts monitorium stopping new gas wells being developed. Deliberately create a shortage of gas so the price has to go up but the govt can blame the Russians or anyone else but their own treason against the stupid voters who keep electing them.

“And the only way they could hold on to their advantage was to deny the benefits of cheap energy to everybody else”

That may be true but it is a logical fallacy on the part of the elites. In the long run their efforts to hold on to their advantage amount to sawing off the limb they are sitting on. But of course when the limb hits the ground it may be their children or grandchildren that are sitting on it. Or the masses may wake up and revolt before the collapse occurs. That I wouldn’t bet on, at least not in the western world. But this is the 4th Industrial Revolution, is it not? Unlike the first 3 it would appear to be a largely destructive revolution, tearing down nearly everything put in place by the first two revolutions, which were the ones that built the middle classes worldwide. This would be the real point. When billionaires accumulate more money than they could ever spend in a lifetime, when they acquire more personal property than they have time to enjoy(even with private jets), the game and the score keeping become the point. Power and control the new ring. And Godless minds become warped minds. The rest is history.

I think this is the trend that BPR are attempting to lead us happily through; the bottom of the cycle that repeats itself just about everywhere in the world all through history.

But not everywhere at the same time...

Bill's musings failed to recognize that there have always been some people who have more wealth than most people. Lots of reasons why. Foremost the wealthier make better life choices.

Of course, some were lucky and others oppressed those with less. Slave owners throughout history come to mind.

However, most members of the wealthier class recognize that a rising tide raises all boats. Foolish to keep their customers poor. After all, less disposable income for their customers means less profit for purveyors of goods and services.

I also think Bill is not giving full credit to the younger generation for promulgating Alternative Energy. They are the idealists seeking to stop the rest of us from using fossil fuels.

Frankly, I don't see many members of the elder class peddling wind farms or solar farms or promoting electric cars with batteries from China that require energy from power plants using fossil fuels.

JR: Batteries are here now and made in the USA. China makes their own cars and batteries. Tesla is working with the Japanese company Panasonic and So. Korea's LG Engery with cells containing nickel and cobalt. Tesla also has a facility in Sparks, Nevada producing lithium batteries and automotive components...Gigafactory 1. There are about six other companies in America Manufacturing lithium-ion batteries.

Thanks for the clarifications. I don't follow battery developments. My fundamental point was, regardless who makes them or where, they are only functional when energized by power made by burning fossil fuel, a statement I should have qualified by the "...mostly using..."

There are always some good actors that have made billions. My frustration with the elite is the alignment of them to support stupidity, like incredible spending upon alternative energy without actual debate and planning as to how much it costs in relation to conventional energy. And the educational grant system supporting one side. And the IPCC putting out slanted support for alternative energy. It's turning out that alternative energies aren't working out so well from a cost perspective. That doesn't mean we don't need alternatives and that they can't become more cost effective. Economy of scale might allow them to compete. As oil runs out alternative might become the most cost effective but we are only now having discussions associated with the costs of alternative energy. But we are already trillions in debt on top of other debt by these clowns. To me that shows these political clowns just go down any road that superficially looks like it will benefit themselves. "Not allowing a crisis to go to waste." Same thing again with covid.

You're right, lithium battery manufacturing, and mining, is moving here. But most batteries still come from china, and will continue to be less expensive from there as well. The US is a high cost manufacturing nation.

Born and childhood in Palo Alto, California area. Rich and happy: bellies full, warm, dry, safe, loved.

12 years old, moved to a backwoods ranch in Canada, without running water, electricity, telephone or television. People were rich and happy.

18, spent 2 years in Samoa as a missionary. Rich, without bike or car, running water, electricity, TV, or telephones. People were rich, and happy.

Now energy, material stuff, and mobility are being deliberately reduced.

Is happiness going to be crushed or enhanced?

I think that depends on one's definition of Rich.

It seems the elite want to fly their jets to various "important" meetings to decide what the rest of the world should have and not have. If the rest of the world uses up their energy the won't be able to fly in jets. It might take them longer to get to their 'important' meetings where their leaders teach how to become tomorrow's leaders to decide everyone else's future. Too bad they aren't a bit smarter than they think they are. Their schemes are now becoming obvious to everyone.

If this mysterious cheap form of green energy were real, it would have been discovered long ago Not only that, abut everyone would be enjoying its use today.

The fact that it isn't working out that way is further evidence that it's all a scam, and a way to keep people getting by with fake credit as they try to keep ahead, even though they will never get ahead.

As Merle Haggard used to sing: Give me rainbow stew and a silver spoon, and a perfect sky of blue, We'll all be drinking free bubbly-up, and eating that rainbow stew.

Yes, solar panels have a break even period of 15 years-the industry could not survive without Gov subsidies-good point Bill. On the other hand, are all those EV's I see on the road owned by elites? They are more expensive to buy, insure and repair and are less reliable. But hey, I knew a lot of people in over their head with car payments or worse yet, lease payments BEFORE EV's. They would simply overbuy the item ( a fact supported by an abundance of marketing statistics) and trade in prematurely. The truth is, the elite are the elite because, given the circumstances they are faced with, they make intelligent decisions. Why put a conspiracy theory behind it?

I don't believe there's a single elite on the planet who drives a Toyota Prius. The head marketing guy told us has made many speeches about why they made the vehicle so ugly And continue to do so. He went on further to say why the Chevy volt was unsuccessful. Many people are aspirationally green. They want to look like you're saving the world. Back at home their thermostats at sixty eight degrees on the summer. This guy pegged it. There is a demographic portion of society That is willing to spend on the appearance of being better than the next guy. The yard signs the coexist bumper stickers et cetera. Behind the scenes they are the biggest hypocrites, racists and cheats.

It’s called virtue signaling. It is the new western religion. Taught in every school at every grade by disenfranchised ex hippies who couldn’t make the leap into corporate life. Not that we all need to be corporatists, but their liberal arts degrees allowed them to dictate anti wealth/growth curriculum to the masses of our kids while espousing Marxist dogma and allying with the liberal deplorables. They are righteous and are owed because they are marginalized and virtuous, etc etc.

Sigh

Bill, I'm with you. At 73, I've never met a guy who tried to tell someone else how to get dressed that didn't have trouble putting on his own pants. I personally drive an 8 year old Toyota SUV in retirement and given the low mileage I put on I'll have it for at least another 10-12 years. It's safe, comfortable and cheap to maintain. Toyota has this ratio of 1:6:90. That is, they can build 1 rechargeable EV with the same given amount of materials to 6 rechargeable EV's to 90 stand alone hybrids. That's a devastating figure which begs the question why are Ford & G so hot on them? I think the answer lies in the hypocrisy to which you allude.

"Solar panels" and all the other stuff (inverter, batteries, etc., could have a much faster payback period. You can buy a kit for less than $20K that would power most modern homes. But you would have to spend another $20K to install it, because of the permits you supposedly need, and because most people don't even know how to change their own oil anymore. But it's not that difficult; I'm installing one for a customer now for about 3K, plus the parts cost. Most people are too afraid to do things without asking for daddy's (i.e., the State) permission. I'm tempted to tell them to grow a pair, but I know there has been a concerted effort by the public fool system to keep them from thinking for themselves.

Hi Alex. But the problem is when the poor slob needs some work done in the system, the government will have change the regulations so the party needs the longer available. Now they will tell him the retrofit would cost less to the new system. This is a true story from James Kuntsler

I Harry. Seriously? The Clinton foundation in the Biden grift? Bush, the younger, got a piece of a professional baseball team with no money but his dad was president. These are not win-win propositions. They are grift. Look at the tax laws for Wall Street. Carried interest?? The laws and regulations are meant to keep the top on top.

Worm Farmer, Harry here. I'm sorry, but I can't match your comment to what I said exactly. if you're referring to my saying the elite making smart decisions, well, it's true on both a corporate and individual level. I'm not saying grift doesn't exist. Also, America, in spite of all its faults, has a long history of providing more upward mobility than any other society in the world. I do think technology concentrates wealth and you're seeing the effects of that today. I look at a company like Exxon-every year they do a study looking out 30 or more years to access the world's energy needs and adapt accordingly. Hell, they started out selling kerosene! Throughout life, I just found that people willing to work hard and adapt were far more successful, but let me know if that isn't what you're getting at.

Well, not only does the US taxpayer get to shovel out foreign aid year after year, we also get to eat inflation as the foreign aided people get to suck up the fossil fuels. Maybe the basic organization, and moral fiber of the society had something to do with it's prosperity.

Plus a Climate Change narrative promotes a reaction. We must tax more to save our lives! So that we can pay billionaires to build wind farms. They certainly wouldn't do it without government promises to make money. We must give more money to these elites to drive us in debt so deep the poor can't feed themselves and their families. All to "insure" we are kept alive by these elite and those who are willing to lie to promote themselves, Stephanie Kelton, the UN's IPCC, the department of Justice, FBI, CIA, the US military complex.

It looks like a global phenomenon by the privileged, similar to the COVID vaccination and lockdown. In my country (India), where in one can find hoards of people selling veggies and fruits on cart, the food prices are 2x-3x times over last one year. All these with record production of most food items. Electricity bill is 2x times. Be it clothes or any other thing used by common person, the price is minimum 1.5-2 times over last year. Yet my Generous Central Bank told us that CPI is just 5.4% and kept the rates same. Maybe another 2-3 times increase in prices , we get another 25 bps increase.

"What would people do with more blessings? Would they use it to further God's work and help their fellow man, or would they selfishly use it for their own benefit? I think you know the answer to that one." That is the quote I am referring to, and yes, it is presumptuous to present to know, on an individual basis the answer to that. Who gets to decide what "God's" work is in the first place? Also, I found it fascinating, in spiritual terms, that you seem to equate "Blessings" with financial well being. I personally equate my largest blessings with things such as good health, a contemplative life, and knowing my needs are and will be met. Sometimes I go down to the ocean and feel its vastness and realize we are more than who or what we seem to be. That has nothing to do with money. I've followed and invested in the energy industry for decades. Exxon is a company with incredible financial discipline. They are sitting on $32-33 Billion in cash. A couple of years ago they purchased a company that had won a Noble Prize for a unique polymer and a special lubricant applicable to wind generation. They're heavily invested in carbon capture. They could buy the most successful companies in the solar business (If there are any), but won't touch them and other fringe technologies. That tells me a lot. Peace man.

Great overview of the industrial review running out of energy; trees don't grow forever and economies need to have room to grow. Old enough to have enjoyed the benefits of the growth of high tech from tubes to transistors to quantum computing but even here the poor have a hard time to share in the benefits of the progress being made.. The more "productivity" the fewer people are needed and you end up with having to reduce the carbon footprint and we are carbon.

This link was posted by Don Trump Jr on Sunday. It is actually a video played inside this video. This is Johnny Enlow who is a true modern-day Prophet, and he shares a link to a British news show featuring Dr. Jan Halper-Hays, a long time and well-respected government employee who exposes what the Deep State has been doing for hundreds of years and on how Trump is the real deal and is allowing them to come after him so he can expose EVERYTHING they have been doing to us, the People of America and the World. They have stolen a fortune from us by running this Country on the Debt system and the truth is finally coming out. It has been called a conspiracy, see G. Edward Griffin's "The Creature of Jekyll Island" but Dr. Jan is THE first person to publicly speak about it and to reveal it from her position in the government. The World will be blown away by what these wicked people have been perpetrating on us. We have about $450K owed to each one of us and there is more. Research, dig in and learn what happened in 1871 and join the rebellion against our enemy. Blessings.
