Being an old hand, I will submit my opinion of Trump. I do not like his over the skis approach to things like a bull in a China closet. But, in truth, as I said, Trump did more in his 4 years against all odds, than any or all of the presidents combined. He made it look easy and the dems can't stand that. They have to make this stuff look difficult. A pragmatist, he, sees a problem, deems what to do to fix it, then gets it done. What would have taken the bumbling fools in Washington 25 years to do, he does it in 4. Again, I do not approve of all he does, but he gets s__t done. Can't fault him for that. The way Washington operates is what drives Americans nuts. They can't find their butt with both hands except when they are stealing our money or giving it away for a favor! I am sorry the world including the US is screwed up, but Trump nor I broke it. Just sayin'

Don, this is my exact sentiment as well. I’m torn though between another four years of Trump vs. someone like Desantis. I almost want Trump again just to tear through the established elites and try to clean up what he can. It’s also entertaining to watch the left go so overboard and it brings out the true RINOs.

Bill made a mistake. Origin of the Species was published in 1859 - not 1776. Perhaps another book of 1776 also deserved mention: Edward Gibbons' The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Volume 1.

Expand full comment

Tom is correct about the publication date of Origin of Species. By that time both the American Revolution and its counter-revolutionary constitution were old hat, the United States had stripped Mexico of half their lands and was on its way to a major bump in the road, the War of Northern Aggression...

More likely Thomas Paine's "Common Sense," published anonymously in January of 1776.

Expand full comment

And the title was actually "On the Origin of Species".

But I still get Bill's point.

Bill's Trump quote is actually a quote of comedian Andrew Borowitz. I'm not an admirer of Trump, but neither do I respect a media that routinely fabricated Trump narratives.

Tomr beat me to the publication date of Darwin's book. It's influence on the philosophers such as Nietze and the subsequent collapse of Christian belief among the educated classes of Europe was a major factor in the Bolshevik revolution, Hitler, the holocaust.... We are still living through it now with the collapse of all categories of reason, logic, truth and a desperate anxious search for meaning in tribal politics..........

Thanks for the clarification. I thought it was not a quote coming from the Donald. Bonner knows better…

Bill

I can't believe you are still mentioning Donald Trump. Let it go. This newsletter is better than that. At least with Trump you could understand his words and his response or comment was relevant to the question that he was asked. We have a senile bureaucrat from Delaware that is being hustled around by a group of handlers that you have not mentioned except in passing.

Bill has been an equal opportunity despiser of the choices offered to the electorate by the ruling Uniparty. The top layer of the ruling USA nomenklatura strongly resemble the top geezers in the last years of the USSR.

I would heavily dispute the "equal opportunity" part of your post.

With good reason - it's called having a memory of the slanted things Mr. Bonner has written in the past...

Trump continues to shine like The Morning Star. You can’t touch him. Democrats and their feeble ridiculous attempts to discredit him.

Criminal Referrals, Tax Returns released, hahaha, what a joke. It’s a referral, means nothing, just like when your doctor refers you to a podiatrist for an ingrown toe nail. “Uh, doesn’t look like much Sir, just needs a little clipping.” A referral is a recommendation, shit, I can refer you to a shrink if you’d like! 😂

Tax returns, nothing there to see, legal business transactions as usual.

The witch-hunt continues.

Two more years of severe pain, then President Trump will take office and alleviate the pain. Trump to Biden, “You’re a disease, and I’m the cure” (Marion Cobettri). 😂

I think it should be the other way around: Biden to Trump.

Do anyone remember junior high school science class where the teacher places a frog in a pan of cold water and slowly turns up the heat under that pan. Eventually, the frog dies having slowly gotten use to ever increasing water getting hotter and hotter. Here in America, we spend so much money per student and the resulting graduates are dumb and dumber. They watch countless "Reality Shows" rather than question why the federal government debt went from less than $ 1 trillion in 2001 to over $32 trillion today. Where is the accounting for that additional $31 trillion? Why isn't our economy energized by these extra money spent? Like the frog, we accept blindly what our corrupt leaders say rather than question why those leaders didn't go after Saudi Arabia for funding the World Trade Center terrorists and foolishly spent countless billions in Iraq & Afghanistan supposedly to bring "democracy" to their citizens. News stories don't challenge Americans to question why almost every Congressmen and Senators are multi-millionaires. Both major political parties are corrupt. What we need is public financing of all elections with no candidate allowed to take any private contributions. Also if you work for the government in any way, once retired, you can't take a lobbyist position and legally deal with that department where you originally worked. Unfortunately, our fellow frogs will continue to watch "trash" on TV until wasteful spending by our elite/corrupt elected leaders result in recession, depression, run-away inflation burning up their retirement investment turning dollars into worthless pennies. How can supposedly educated Americans be so dumb? Wake up Americans, it's getting warmer with each dumb new spending governmental project and your savings/retirement plan is getting smaller.

Seem the insight is blowing in the wind. While watching TV and contemplating the state of the nation, my wife said,”People just don’t care, they have cable and I phones.”

Those that do read, read fake news and are idiots.

I long for the collapse, what exists now is intolerable, but as Jim Rickard says, “You might rue the day gold is at 10k an ounce.

Think I will read “Dr. Zhivago” again. This will never end well; utopia has receded into the distance, mankind has screwed itself.

No, you always get things wrong. It's not Biden, it's Trump. He's the one in big trouble...High treason times ten; Jan 6th, asking for votes that didn't exist, stealing documents, and probably false tax returns which we, hopefully, will find out soon.

Positive and negative TDS will ultimately cancel out those who suffer either pole of this mental disorder, like the mutual annihilation of an electron and positron. Hopefully the unafflicted can avoid most of the destructive energy of the collision. Personally, I flipped a coin twice, praying that the least malevolent candidate win the tosses (first toss was Uniparty, or some minor party). Neither of the Uniparty's candidates won the toss. Instead, a minor party candidate won the toss and my vote.

There are a lot of folks like me that voted for Trump but now wish he would just disappear. He’s going to split the party and tell his supporters not to vote if he doesn’t win the nomination. Maybe something finally sticks and he can’t run again( my hope) But It just seems like this current administration cares less about their own citizens then any administration ever.

Seems like the end started with old man Bush and his New World Order….every president after him has been undeniably corrupt. I’m pretty sure most know that fact, for a few there is no hope, but those of us in the know, sense a perfect storm on the horizon. That is why we read and research as we do, to keep ahead of it. I’m sure that most here will weather the storm, and survive for brighter days, as this too shall pass 🇺🇸🙏…. To all a beautiful and Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and healthy New Year 🎄💕 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

He can still smoke anyone in his path. 😂

I wish they would change to the two-term limit on the presidency and re elect young Bush. This country would revert to the prosperous Old West American Frontier!

A few years ago my tiny town banned plastic bags from the one supermarket and small shops. We're going to save the world's oceans. And last month my state had four referendum questions. All four passed, including a 4% tax on income over $1 million. "The extra money will go for education, transportation, etc." Will people never learn? Like Lucy pulling the football away.

Doomberg recently published an article "Crossing the Rubicon" in which the central theme was the upcoming Central Bank Digital Currency CBDCs and why they should be actively resisted as it is not compatible with freedom as it will give federal officials full control and visibility of all money going in and out of people's accounts.

Would it be possible in the upcoming articles to include an article about your views on CBDCs and how the average citizen could be better informed?
