Joel, to drive from Houston to Austin for a Texan is a short boring drive. Depending on 290 or I10 the drive is slow or fast. If you have to go by TAM on 15 it is sickening. Red Raider here. To really drive in Texas is to drive in Texas is to go from Boamont to El Paso or El Derado to Corpus. Stay out of Chuckies and enjoy the small places. I like I10 to 71 except for the last few miles in to Austin. There are a few places to eat in Austin, but Round Rock is better. Austin is bad.

Agreed, the smaller country roads are far nicer than the gargantuan interstate (which is functional and a blessing for trucking, I guess). I recall driving into El Paso years ago on one such winding road and seeing, from elevation, the border with Mexico. It looked as though Mexico had collided with the American border at high speed. It was all crumpled against the hard line. Very eye opening. Thanks for your comment!

Tired old myth. "Medicines"/pseudoscience frauds are poisons, plastic bottles contain estrogen, you can run a car on just about anything from water to waste and there are better lubricants that can maintain viscosity at far higher temps for far less cost. Far more harm done by Rockefeller with and for oil than any good that resulted, the present "medical" genocide for instance. Try questioning your assumed knowledge, you might learn something.

I knew if I waited long enough, you would eventually find my neck of the woods, Joel. Apparently you finally found me today in Houston. Problem is, I don't know "where" in Houston. Considering I started following you somewhere in the southeast many years ago, Joel, that must have made it back sometime in the '90s. I think you were kind enough to explain the details of curing breast cancer at that time (saved my wife at that time but lost her later to another type of cancer just over 4 years ago). Recently, I found my way from the Hill Country (NW of Austin) to the "Old Folk's Home" in Houston.

I've enjoyed your travel-tales along the trails as you've trailed along with Bill and the others, too. I don't think our paths crossed at any of the Canada Conventions, however. Now it looks like this will be my last chance to say "Hi" because it is the end of my trail.

Thanks for all your insight and wit along that portion of the trails we have been able to share.

Cheers, Tex (Jon)

Independence is counterproductive to the plans of overreaching government. As the Southern Democrats once noted slaves simply don't understand how good they have it.

The Dems are creating a Covid style lock down directed towards oil and NG production. When Americans can no longer afford what made us fat, lazy and uninterested in reigning government the backlash will be violent and detrimental to the peace in America.

This time around the backlash will be world wide. So much for world peace resulting from the new world order and their plan for One World Government.

For once I agree with PG V; One of the worst things that happened to the common man in Mexico was jobs created from American corporations moving across the boarder. The common Mexican lived better and with less strive in their families when they were poor. Mom and Pop no longer have a moment to themselves neither has the time to raise their children as they once did. Their families have suffered as children become distant, and for what really?

There will be NO climate emergency declaration in the foreseeable future, none, will not happen. The dollar is not a weapon, that’s an outrageous statement. The global economy cannot and will not fall because of some chicken feed war in Russia. The stock market will not crash because someone printed out a few extra dollars. Let’s face reality, everything is pretty fine and dandy, nothing to fret about. Today and tomorrow are the same as yesterday, continue living the dream and Make America Great Again! The Golden Trumpet will sound again and we will rise from the ashes that Joe blows. 😂

If it were not for oil, we would be riding horses, electricity would be eccentric to the rich, nothing that exists would exist.

Oil is a product of millions of years of climate change orchestrated by a universal intelligence. Rockefeller called it a gift from God. Rockefeller transformed the world with a genius for numbers and a belief he had a duty to develop oil for mankind. He brought kerosene from $6. to $.06 a gallon, gave free stoves and lanterns as far as Mongolia.

Rockefeller was a genius for picking talent. He incentivize with stock and when someone wanted to sell, he bought; many years after he retired, Ford put everyone behind the wheel of an automobile; he became the richest man ever. His philanthropic endeavors, which almost gave him a nervous breakdown, still benefit mankind. He found it easy to give money but very difficult to make gifts productive. We can see that with the US government that has spent trillion and has nothing to show for it.

For all his efforts, Rockefeller was vilified by muckrakers who were believed by idiots.

Actually, I am a Luddite. I like horses and would enjoy 1850. Do away with oil!

What do you think powered the technological revolution of the last 130 years, the biggest transformation in the million year history of man.

Good god! And God is good. It should be as plain as the nose on your face.

Xavier, that comment was not meant for you. I know the history of oil and there was not much else to replace it with. We all needed it then.

There is probably a natural progression. Before oil they burned coal; the Salt Lake Valley was dark with soot each winters day. Rockefeller cleaned up an ecological disaster in the oil fields. Then they used gas. We should probably be using nuclear but they took it down a militaristic destructive track.

If I were out in the middle of nowhere, like the sailors, I would happily use solar and wind.

Probably, the process of clean energy is exasperated by the control of monied interests, not capitalism in its purity but outright Fascism, a consortium of government and large industries.

I think they broke up Standard oil because governments realized oil was power.

It is my opinion that it is the cause of WW1, the fall of Russia and Hitler and consequently American Hegemony.

The world would have been different if Rockefeller was not precluded from his dream of providing cheap energy world wide. Like Hemingway said, “It’s nice to think so.”

Looking forward to reading your history.

Once again -

your links about Oil Profits show a long line of thoughtful, strategic and successful innovators, investors, executives and very hard working men and women.

But let's vilify them for playing by Capitalism's rules and coming in first place. Commie much?

OMG I couldn't believe even you would say something like that PG. You can't possible believe what you just said is true. You saw it on TV. We all saw it; Surely you are not that brain washed ( well I take that back you obviously are). Trump was asking him to lie and give him votes that were not there. Yes, Trump was asking for illegal votes and really didn't care how he got them. Thank God the AG did the right thing and turned Trump down.

So any negative comments about your beloved former President by the AG from Georgia should be disbarred and dismembered. I'm guessing that goes for anyone else. So sad.
