Well done Joel. Brilliant, enlightening and fun. I'm sending this along to my 15 year old son... he'll enjoy it as he is a bit of a history buff.

We may have allowed too much power and money to concentrate in DC, NYC and San Francisco but that won't be true forever and America, Americans will thrive again when these places are in decline; something which seems to be presently underway.

Fortunately, the ideas of America are deeply seated in the hearts of at least 200 million of us and so the Marxists among us will never gain the high ground for long.

Very much appreciate your contributions to Bonner Private Research.

I loved this thought-provoking and well-written essay on America, and it was a nice break from the "normal" missives. Thank you, from a Scandinavian-British Isles-American Indian-African- French-Italian-AMERICAN.

I think your positive views of the American people, the general population, are apt. But sadly since Eisenhower the deep state, the "elites", have turned the country into a powerful yet unsuccessful war monger. Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and countless other wars and incursions are a stain on the country. I often think of the observation that China is a country of business, America a country of war. Hence I see the continued decline of a once great country.

Bravo, Joel, from us in Athens!

I can only echo what the majority of others others have said; a beautifully-written (there's that hyphen again!) and sensitive piece.

Keep up the great work.

I don't know what to say, WOW! Keep writing more of these. As Bocephus said in his song, "I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN AND I'LL STAND UP NEXT TO YOU"! I've been all over the World, but always glad to get HOME. There is no place in the World that can "hold a candle" up to it.

I guess I am going to buy a bottle of Bill's wine! I've tried the ones from down in the valley, but nothing to "write home about". Just saying, Florida Jimmy in (America's Paradise).

Hey Joel

Loved the video! It didn’t match my image of Bill’s ranch from previous photos. Looks like your sitting in a suburban area with neighbors. Beautiful mountains as a backdrop.

Keep up the great work and videos

Hey Bernie - Thanks for the kind words. This video was actually shot a few hours south of Bill's ranch, down in Cafayate, in the Calchaqui Valley. It's also about 3,500ft below where he grows the Tacana wines, up in Gualfin... so this interviewer was at least able to catch his breath. Cheers!

Thank you for wrestling with this important subject, Joel.

I suggest that the Bible has much to contribute here. In the Bible, 'Nation' (patrilineal people group, flowing from Genesis 10, and 'tribe' being a subset of 'nation') is distinguished from 'country,' or geopolitical entity; nation and country often do not overlap. For an example, see how Jewish (national) identity has remained since the Patriarchs, despite multiple exiles and repatriations (to their geopolitical homeland, or country).

In the US, there is no single national or tribal identity dominating, except perhaps the pervasive tendency of Scotch-Irish flavor and custom, even amid the tossed salad of the many 'ethnoi' (Greek for Hebrew 'Goyim,' or nation) present.

In Genesis 9, eight souls having disembarked from the ark post-flood, they are commanded to be fruitful and multiply, and to fill the earth. In Genesis 10, we see the male offspring of the three sons of Noah; these are accounted the heads of the nations (and there is much by way of well-documented extrabiblical records to verify this especially among the ancient and carefully guarded, pre-Christian genealogies of European pagan kings, all going back to Japheth and his sons). In Genesis 11, mankind, all of one language, and under the one-world-dictator Nimrod, has refused to spread out and fill the earth... hence the dispersion at Babel. In other words, man said 'e pluribus unum!' but God disagreed and overruled.

In Acts 17, the apostle Paul, via a public speech given in Athens, referring back to this incident, observed that God separated the nations for their spiritual good, giving each nation its own times and boundaries and land.

But now, in the US, the spirit of Nimrod (himself perhaps figure A in terms of the Biblical typology of the Antichrist) is revived: e pluribus unum, something that displeases the God of the Scriptures and that the apostle Paul said is bad for man, but that, in those Scriptures, was nevertheless forecast as a major part of the end-times scenario to immediately precede the events precipitating the return of the Jewish Messiah, who, again according to the Scriptures, will defeat the one world government and its Nimrod-like leader, and establish His rule and reign over the nations.

Nationalism is certainly out of favor these days, but nationalism (love of the fathers, and of their customs and beliefs) is strongly endorsed Biblically, while patriotism (love of the fatherland, or, at least, the land and customs of one's birth) is praised today, but Biblically viewed as a stumbling block.

I find it a sad and significant loss to contemporary understanding, that geopolitical analysis more or less neglects the Biblical record, in favor of, perhaps, a pseudo intellectual sense of superiority in every way... a perspective that I suggest is wildly unjustified.

Again, I thank you for venturing into this difficult but fruitful arena.

What wrong with the strategy of Russia? Compare it to the destruction of Yugoslavia into multiple countries or obliteration of Iraq's infrastructure as well of thousands of innocents(that's why it was won so quickly) or the loss of thousands of Allied lives mostly American and hundreds of thousands of Persians, not to mention the immense treasure that we p.......ed away!

We kept poking the bear and once again involved(CIA and NSA-Deep state) with nation building. How's that working out you Under Secretary of State Uland? ..
