Using the word "we" is perhaps greater protection? I ( maybe we) might believe only Jeff Bezos could be more clever.
I wonder if someone advised you, you should read or reread Nietzsche one of the principal critics of European nihilism. Yes the mankind agrees that individuals are ephemeral and insignificant compared to the vastness of universe but under one condition. This condition is that they or we prescribe laws to that universe.
Probably your best essay/blog in a long, long time! I know you don't mean to be funny, but "Even when we think we have had a new idea, we discover later that someone had the same idea 2,000 years ago" made me chuckle.
As an aside, I use we when communicating most of the time because I am really representing my wife and my family.
