I remember the Carter years. Miserable if you had no money. Which i did not. So we tightened our belt. We made it through but bought a home with a 21.5% interest. But it was subsidized by the Farmer's Loan Act so we paid about 10%. These guys have no idea what caused this and worse, no idea how to fix it. God help us all. War will fix everything. Remember the Rothchild formula, war=debt= money. Which they will print and spend like there is no tomorrow. Just sayin'

E-Trade, Wealthscape Investor (a Siebert Muriel Siebert Co) and Charles Schwab are a few companies that are good. You might want to subscribe to a good Research company to help advise and recommend great companies to invest in. I use Stansberry Reseach co. Although, I recommend caution in buying stocks and bonds right now. Good Luck!

Hi Tom and Dan. In all likelihood, the Republicans will regain control of both the House and Senate in November and the result a dame duck presidency for 2023 and 2024. What would you expect the Republicans to do to attempt to knock down inflation from growing even higher under their control? 2nd question: Do you expect either Russia or Communist China to back their own currency with gold in the next few years in an attempt to knock the U.S. dollar down to the level of the Mexican peso?

The system lacks the conviction to pull off a 1920-style market rinse, though it would be best. Debts/deficits are so much larger. 100x the leverage. Seems like Fed and Treasury are destined to merge and pay the bills creatively.

Great piece, thanks.

I began investing in physical silver a few months ago based on the guidance you stress with regard to investing in gold and silver and cash right now. Well, it has gone done 20% after its initial rise of about 5%; consequently, I've seen a drop of 25% total since its peak just 4 months ago. I thought buying Sprott physical silver meant I was buying stored silver and not just shares of a mining company. Thus, one would expect silver prices to be much higher now when there is concern that silver mining is becoming much more expensive and the supply of silver is being squeezed. So........what gives? What is really happening to silver and precious metals?

oh dear worldly travelers which are the best small gold or silver coins (1, 10 or 20 gram) to travel with assuming it can fit into your luggage quota and is accepted as payment by most people ?

Expand full comment

I’d say you’re on the money(pardon the pun) with those sizes. They can easily pass through scanners and x-rays without setting off any questions as they will look to be of a size and weight consistent with many nations coinage. 1oz coins might stand out in scans and raise a flag with “za authoritiez” and you might get pulled aside for questions. Best to experiment if you’re doing a lot of travelling. Go through with small amounts of gold or silver coins initially. If all goes well, swap out the silver for gold on later trips if you’re wanting to have more funds for the travel. *This is general advice only and not specific to you or the countries you wish to travel to and from. You should know and follow all legal and customs advice and laws of each country you visit.

Another great article - if anyone wants further reading on the 1919-21 depression and Wall streets other 3 major bear markets in the 20th century I recommend ‘Anatomy of the bear’ by Russell Napier.

I agree with your comments about gold etc. and have been heavily invested in gold shares. Unfortunately these have all been stopped out (I use a trailing stop) I have now resorted to short selling shares and buying ETFS shorts. I am a reasonable experienced investor.

Does this policy put me at risk while I keep daily trailing stops?

Expand full comment

checking your daily pulse (trail stops) is over reacting just study the charts and market mood and move the thermometer every week then set and forget otherwise the stop is just FOMO ..

I remember 15% inflation in the UK in the late 70s. Extremely unpleasant and nearly lost our house. The signs are similar now with no one in charge able or willing to acknowledge or stand up to the changes needed. All I see is a repeat performance, but this time without anyone with the ability and the balls necessary to address it. Those in charge couldn't deal with Covid then and can't deal with their previous decisions now. So what next? The most worrying aspect is that if someone does emerge with the will to fix it, likely that they will be someone that will fix a great number of other things that really don't need fixing. Those other things will come at a very high price, not associated with cash, or its equivalent. Time to check out of the current corruption

Trump threatened to remove US troops from Saudi Arabia right before he left office, unless they cut oil production for the next couple of years... During Biden's term. Right wingers just ignore this, and the fact that Russia picked up almost all of the extra oil sales because of it.. it's almost as if trump helped fund Russia's army to invade Ukraine. Bit why would trump do that? Hmmm... I wonder..

I'll play along and assume what you're saying is true (which is rare). You must think Trump has some kind of ESP to have known Putin was going to invade Ukraine more than 13 months after he was cheated er defeated in the 2020 election. However, it doesn't require ESP to know that Biden and his merry band of Marxists have caused all of this with their beyond stupid energy policies that are kicking into high gear right about now. By the way, do you know where electricity comes from?

I'm guessing you aren't a BPR subscriber. Your ilk falls into one of three categories: 1) A government employee (including school teachers/academics or a politician; or 2) A destitute parasite on society that depends on the government for your subsistence; or 3) A billionaire donor to the Democrat Party and their candidates (in which case you already know how to grift money from the existing psuedo-capitalist system and don't need a financial newsletter like this one.)

BTW--if you think about it, regardless of which one of those categories you fall into, they are really all cut from the same cloth. They want as much as possible for doing as little as possible. And the more they can take from others to give to themselves the better.

Kindly offer a molecule of evidence for this. Progs have accused Trump of a lot of shit without proof, and when they do, it's always "anonymous sources." They're pissed because Putin has effectively ruined the elites' money laundering country of choice. The proof contained in Hunter's laptop.

There was reported two Hunter Biden laptops with info that could have been forged, a common feature of disinformation. The second laptop confirming International corruption which involved an active Russsian Intelligence agent, A. Derkach who was assisting Giuliani in verifing the contents. hmmmm

How do you account for the corroboration from Hunter associate Tony Bobulinski, or the fact that NYT and WaPo admitted it was real?
