Bill; I came across this quote the other day, which I'm sure you are familiar, and while I imagine it has always been true, it's seems particularly appropriate in our current times. It's by the economist Frederic Bastiat, "When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it"

Mr. Albanese ? what's that old Bugs Bunny phrase, "What a maroon". There's another by Frederic Bastiat that's also appropriate, " Everyone wants to live at the expense of the state, what they don't understand is the state lives at the expense of everyone else".

Now multiply that !

So true and prescient! Thanks for that. I need to read more Bastiat, he was truly brilliant.

Yes. Everyone, it should be mandatory reading in public schools, including all the great thinkers of our past.

Solar panels can produce electricity at night! A solar panel assembly that produces 300 watts in direct sunlight is able to generate about 1 watt from a full moon on a cloudless night. Just enough to keep your LED night light lit! So there, Joel, you fascist fossil fuel lover! 😂😂😂

Politics disproves the the axiom that “you can’t fool all the people all of the time” - As Bill repeatedly shows - they are all at the same trough and choosing to support one over the other is like arguing that heads is better than tails on a coin flip - you still have only 1 coin...

You can’t expect everyone to agree with everything you write. Of course you know that. I regularly try to entice my friends to read your material. All I get is blank stares. They are too busy spending their money on STUFF that they don’t need.

I agree with your political philosophy ... a pox on both their houses.

It's nice to see that Bill actually reads these comments once in a while and took offense to being called a "Biden voter". (I didn't read Bill's original missive to say he voted for Biden, but I can see how some might have interpreted it that way.)

I can also see where selling gas powered generators in California is going to be a land office business. It's too bad the masses there are so blissfully ignorant.

When the rich e v owners charge their cars, don't they realize that 96% of our electricity still comes from fossil fuels? What's so green about that, not to mention open pit mines for all the lithium, copper, cobalt, and all the other materials mined for their production

Bill, Bill, Bill, what a gracious site for those of us who must vent our spleens on a daily basis and hope that no one takes offense. Or not. Thank you for the opportunity for us poor folks in fly-over land to let the world know we do exist. Regards, just sayin'

Today you summed up why I always look forward to seeing what you've got to say Bill. Contrarian, devil's advocate, s.... stirrer, whatever label people want to put on you, I love it. Hopefully it's a way of keeping your readership diverse - no-one is sure what "side" you're on - and as a result the comments section can be a hoot, if a little left field at times. Hopefully your readership continues to grow, because I believe you need to read by as many, thinking, people as possible

antinomianism, a nice word. Sounds as if your a monk, a contemplative, searching for truth. The trouble is, if you find truth, it breeds conviction and conviction breeds action and action, based on truth, changes the world.

Your forgetting the most important dots, responsibility, duty.

Everyone has to jump in the fray, have a public life. You can’t continually “Stand outside the fire.”

One thing you have to admire about Trump is that he jumped in both feet and all. I voted for Trump, that makes me an idiot. I believe in “Hope and Change”, God.

You need to parse that sentence by Macron a little better. "The best energy is the energy that YOU don't use." I.e., as far as he is concerned it would be best if we all freeze in the dark and starve to death, leaving a lot more energy and resources for him and his friends.

If this winter in France there is an edict that all thermostats should be set to 50 degrees F or 10 degrees C, in order to conserve energy, do you really think that this will apply to the private quarters where Macron lives? If so, it will be only for the time necessary for a photo op. The rules never apply to the rulers.

Regarding the Albo snippet. It is not fair to point and laugh at a snippet taken out of context. I am sure the fellow does know when the sun shines. I am sure he is referring to charging overnight by electricity that was generated by the solar panels and stored.
