The Wall Street Journal puts out a podcast twice a day. When gold hit a new high v the USD they mentioned it. This was the first time I can remember this podcast even acknowledging the fact that gold exists...

Ransom, that is a good catch. And because of your comment, I decided to check in with my long time gold dealer with 40+ years in the (retail) PMs business.

He said unequivocally, with the exception of a very small number of HNW clients, there is almost no (US retail) demand for gold despite the recent new high price moves.

Regards,

Mark

Meanwhile, there has been a continuous and subtle drive by the leftists (mainly through our "education" system) to keep people from understanding and/or acknowledging that Precious Metals are the purest form of "money", and always have been.

Mission pretty much accomplished, and this is from nearly 8 YEARS AGO...

Mark,

That is typical, not just of gold but pretty much any investment. By the time the average retail investor realizes something is going on, the easy money has already been made...

Great column, Bill. Wish you would write more of these based on economic facts and insights rather than on your warped political fantasies. LOL!

John I would have to say that I am on Tom's side on this dialogue. Since 1980 we have really only had one party the Dem-Publican Party. The Dems and The Reps. since then have all promised to resolve our debt and yet everyone of them each have left us 2 trillion or more in debt. Could you or I or anyone that is not in the government do that? I think not the bankers would shut the working man Democrat, Independent or Republican off long before they hit a similar personal personal debt load. The almighty dollar is destined to sink as can be seen by the continuing rising numbers of countries wanting to join Bric's and shed the dollar. I have a great printer and can print money too, however if I were to try and spend it I would promptly be arrested as it would not be worth anything. Them doing it is not really anything different. Folks need to quit drinking the political cool aid.

You can kiss Gold goodbye if Dizzy Kamala wins! That’s not gonna happen, the Son of Fred, the American Savior, President Trump heals the sick and gives hope to the poor. The US Dollar and Gold will top the mountains of time under His presence.

The masses are celebrating their new nominee, Kamala, with her big dumb fake smile, thinking she’s got momentum.

The fake media loves her, but not even the media can hide the effects of the Talismanic powers. Once fully activated, the Prince of Darkness will take over and make The Exorcist look like an episode of Teletubbies. Hahaha! 😂

ES: Dream on. DT, son of Fred, is anything but a good candidate for President. Have you not been watching all his trials, Jan 6, Mar-a-Lago where he kept more than 300 classified documents and didn’t want to give them back. The list goes on; Kamala can run circles around old Donald and is a lot smarter than he is. Hahaha!

DOROTHY!!!

Not in a million years!

The only way to defeat Kamala in the coming election is through sorcery!

Believe me when I tell you, it’s happening as we speak! The nation will be in “awe” before the election when they witness her transformation!

On top of The Mind Control Project, it’s a double whammy, she stands no chance, soon the dizzy spells will begin and just like Crooked Joe, her mind will frazzle and fray away!

Hahaha

😂

Nobody can touch The Son of Fred, The American Savior, He has been sent from above to save the world. Amen.

Surely neither of you believe this stuff you write about the respective candidates? It's all smoke and mirrors anyway, but at least Trump largely invented himself, while Harris is a product of someone elses mad ambitions, made for the masses to gobble up - absolutely no pun intended. Out of 20, mainly fairly ordinary, candidates wanting to be the democrat party candidate in 2019 she managed to finish a very creditable 20th and now she's gods gift to mankind - just not very good at interviews apparently.

Sooooo, remind me again how many dim sheep actually VOTED for her to be the "nominee"? Y'know, according to the established process that allows the "people" to pick who they want to represent them and to run for office? Ask a lefty and you will get crickets, deflection or an immediate attempt to change the subject.

Yet the ignorant, brainwashed and just-plain-stupid continue to bleat about "Muh democracy". So very laughable and pathetic to anyone with an IQ over 60...

I’ve always found Buffet’s criticism of gold it’s biggest endorsement.

‘It (gold) doesn’t do anything but sit there and look at you.’

As it did 2000 years ago.

For some of us, no dividends are a good thing. Dividends are currently taxed at your ordinary income rates, as are STCGs. LTCGs, on the other hand, are taxed at a lower rate (if under certain ordinary income levels, although no doubt Buffet exceeds those levels). If shares are owned in a taxable account, you sell your shares at your own discretion for income instead of gains being forced upon you through dividends or STCGs; a form of tax planning. Maybe it’s Buffet who’s buying all the gold since the Chinese have dropped back!

Yes Bill it is obvious these politicians certainly love to promote themselves. Somehow the fact that they have driven us into 35T in debt with a 25 T economy gets lost on almost everyone. Seems to me the case for gold aka JP Morgan "everything else is credit" is completely supported in the BPR portfolio by the Dow / gold ratio while the FOMO is still running rampant.
