When I think of Trump, I think of “Cain Mutiny” and Captain Queeg. I always thought Trump was over the top on TV, a pompous ass. When he road the escalator and announced for the Presidency, I laughed.

Then he debated, what seventeen opponents: he annihilated them. There were some formidable opposition.

Trump had an inimitable style; he was a battler. He not only eliminated each debater, but he also changed the Republican Party. He changed America. He unleashed a native populism that I thought was dead. A part of America, the good remnant, came alive.

He was hated by the establishment.

Soon after the Inauguration a million women haters descended on Washington, the Hate Trump syndrome began: it encompassed Russia Gate, three impeachments, the lying of the intelligence community, a constant barrage of hate and disinformation from legacy news, now he is “under” the barrage of the justice system.

That Trump won in 2016 was a miracle.

His biggest accomplishment was that he enraged the deep state, they raged and raged until only an idiot could not understand that America was a tyranny.

Trump fought them for the Supreme Court, a bitter battle and he never backed down.

He tried to normalize relations with Russia, he kept us out of war and refused to bomb, in retaliation, for some insignificant thing when he thought the reprisal unfair to innocents.

He was blindsided by Covid, made some very bigly bad decisions but in the beginning, there was general hysteria.

He could have walked away. I would have. He has a 285 million judgement against him for lying about loans that he paid, and the banks were satisfied with; he is now a felon.

Trump ignited America, you could say there is a battle between good and evil, lies and truth.

Not a bad piece of work.

Trump is a battler; he threw everything he has into the battle. There is no one, other than Trump, that could at least have given America this one last chance at redemption.

I support Trump because providence has raised him up; maybe, he will stop WW3 and Armageddon.

It is sad, that Bill vilifies from the sidelines in his whimsical castles.

Thank you Xavier! ..I can't understand Bill's ongoing struggle with TDS.. but I've grown quite weary of his ongoing attacks on Trump without giving him any credit for all the good things he accomplished. It is pretty patheticg.

Hi G'-

It's TOTALLY pathetic, but par for the Bill Bonner course.

Sad to see such envy come from a man who has such wonderful blessings on his life...

Geez, Bill, quit holding back and tell us what you really think! It is clear to me that you don’t like either of the major candidates, and kinda like Kennedy as the dark horse candidate. I know after reading your essay why you don’t like Biden and I agree with your assessment. In fact, I’ll go one step further. Joe is a crook, a liar, a plagiarist, and has finally reached the age where he is senile. Hope America has the brains to vote him out. I am less clear on your dislike, nay I say hatred, of Trump. The Donald is clearly disliked by many, but I can’t seem to get a clear reason why he is so unpopular. Your description that he lacks any stated plans to solve the economic perils in the world. I don’t recall ANY of the candidates on either side of the aisle offering economic solutions to our situation. “Balance the budget” seems to be a popular refrain within Bonner, et al, but do you really think anyone can make the sizable cuts in government needed to get us balanced? Trump has kept us out of wars and almost got us out scot free of Afghanistan. Could we get some extra money from the defense budget if we could stay out of unnecessary conflicts? Just a thought. Could we cut budgets in various departments? Maybe, but we will need to fire a lot of bureaucrats. Doesn’t “drain the swamp” suggest a house cleaning in the bureaucracy? Can Trump accomplish any of these without legislative help? No, but it seems to me like he is finally getting the Conservative Party to unite behind him. Now, if they can win an election! So, Bill, I ask you to give me specifics on why you hate Trump, but be specific on what he must do or what he specifically did to earn your ire. Otherwise, your rants are getting a bit tired and you might want to move on to something that you and we can do to save us from the projected perdition.

Expand full comment

You are trying to argue with an imbecile when it comes to politics. Bonner never gives any substantial reasons why he hates Trump other than ad hominem attacks. I have my issues with Trump, but I can also see the upside as well. If I had a choice, I'd choose Vivek. Much higher intellect than Trump, more articulate, and I think Vivek understands the free market much more thoroughly than Trump. But we are left with Trump and Biden, and Trump is a pro-production, pro-energy advocate where Biden has become a progressive fascist nihilist swamp creature. Will Trump cut spending? I don't know, but he better or we are all doomed.

Expand full comment

I'd choose Vivek, too. He's remarkable to listen to in comparison to the other pols. Besides his intellect, he's the only one that engages in meaningful conversation with citizens. The best moments are with people who disagree with him: he doesn't resort to platitudes or condescending insults (nor challenge them to fight.) I hope he gets a good position in the administration where he put that intellect to good use and make positive changes.

Expand full comment

Couldn't agree more. I like to see him in charge of "bureaucracy" where he says he can slash it by 75%! I think Vivek's downfall was when he started to attack the other candidates - in some cases, in somewhat of a mean-spirited way. Had he stuck to the issues, he would have done better. But Trump was going to be the candidate in any event. I'm not sure what the attraction was to Nicki Haley - "I beat all the other fellas, just one more to go" claptrap.

#1. protecting our nation by building a border. Wasn't allowing unvetted terrorists to just cross our border. #2. we were energy independent. He wasn't pushing all this wasteful green energy BS. Gas prices were $2.18 a gallon when he left office. #3. He filled up our strategic emergency oil supply that B.O. had left empty. Of course, creepy joe has drained it, having sold it to China. #4. Trump started working on getting DEI out of our military before the election was stolen. #5. Instead of creating wars Trump wrote peace agreements and Accords that kept us out of wars, even in the middle east. Let's talk about economics. #6. The interest rates were low, young people and people in general were able to buy a home. #7. Price of groceries have gone up 20 to 40% since Trump left the White House. #8. Because of all the crime in the city and the drugs flooding in over our borders the car accidents have gone up so high that insurance rates have gone up

40%.

I haven't even mentioned how he was bringing jobs back into our country. Drug manufacturing was all being done in China. Trump was bringing it back into our country instead of our prescriptions being in our enemies control he was bringing it back to America. That might not mean much to you but it means a hell of a lot to me . Trump reworked NAFTA between Canada and Mexico. That anti-American agreement was done by another anti American, Bill Clinton. He sent our manufacturing jobs to Mexico. Our dairy farmers had to pay exorbitant tariffs to sell their products to Canada, yet we had Canada pay no tariffs for the dairy products they were shipping to our country. The whole NAFTA was a horrible trade agreement made by the horrible clintons. What planet are you living on that you don't know how much better things were under Trump? Young people had hope of a future. Now they don't.

Again, Dorothy, another comment of yours that says nothing of intellectual value. Your comments are just cliches. It's not whether someone disagrees with me or not, it's whether they have something of value to contribute that I can agree or disagree with. You don't. You said in another post that Trump makes mistakes in his speeches just like Biden, ignoring the fact that Trump speaks for hours on end in his rallies, etc., while Biden speaks for minutes with a teleprompter and can't get through it without a gaffe. Your mind is like a vacuum that is filled by CNN or MSNBC talking points and you have no context in which to evaluate whether they are telling you the truth, or you don't care as long as they are telling you what you want to hear. They tell you Trump makes gaffes and maybe show you a couple of stumbles, but you don't consider that it was during a 90-minute speech and the gaffe is minor. They don't show you the gaffes by Biden during his 3 minutes of comments. You are totally unaware of any context of any of the political happenings that are going on today. I avail myself of enough information that I can at least evaluate what is being said.

Trump was a non politician last time with the whole system working against him. Things were pretty good until the Chinese virus hit us hard. Unfortunately for DJT he had a Congress led by McCain and other egotistical Deep Staters that would not do away with obummer care and worked against him at every turn. Now it seems like the GOP knows the people want Trump to change things. Time will tell. If Congress isn't overwhelmingly republican then Trump will be stymied again. Remember when he wanted to build the wall but couldn't get it done by Congress? He tried but couldn't get it across and now we are paying untold billions $ for illegals when for 5 or so billion $ we could have stopped or greatly reduced the flow of illegals. Can't even get Congress to change the immigration system to allow more legal immigration of educated immigrants. Instead we are housing illegals in fancy hotels and kicking veterans out on the street because the government pays more for illegal housing. Not to mention how the education system is screwed trying to meld illegal non English speakers into the classrooms. Or the security threat of over 10,000 illegal Chinese crossing our borders. When it hits the fan you will know it.

Valid points. I think his agreeing with Johnson is for political purposes which isn't a good excuse. Rotten Roots

If anyone needed further understanding of how Trump was found guilty on 34 charges when the prosecutor had a hard time even explaining what the charges were, look no further than Bill. The whole jury was made up of people, like Bill, with TDS. The hatred makes no sense. It blinds them to the truth. I have family members like this. You can never have a conversation with them, no matter what the subject is, they'll find a way to make some dig about Trump. And they don't even realize that the thing that they just said isn't even true, they usually have picked it up from one of the propaganda news. Such as Trump started wars. Bill, name one?

They completely, like Bill, overlook all of Biden's crimes. Oh, but don't worry, traitor Joe will never go to jail. Kamala Harris is going to take over the last couple of months and she'll exonerate him of the $18 million cash pocketed from the crime deals made with China, Russia, Ukraine and others. Let's not forget the 51 high Intelligence CIA officers who signed the paper stating the laptop was "Russia collusion". We now know Tony Blinkin was the signature gather for Joe, before the presidential debate in 2020. His reward was the position he now holds. We also know those 51 intelligence officials knew, when they signed the letter, that the laptop had been in the FBI'S possession for 10 months at that point. Liars every one. The proof of the Biden family criminal activities were on that laptop, and from other sources. But you NEVER hear Bill mention any of this. The deals traitor joe and his son have made with these countries has made our country weaker.

But somehow Bill has this crazy idea that Trump is the one with the rotten roots. Weird. This is the same syndrome Trump has had to deal with in NYC, DC, and Atlanta.

That's why they are holding the trials there.

I do wish there was a vaccination for this.

Right or wrong, the only reasonable option that we have at this point in time is Donald Trump. The reason that I say that is because the Democrat Party has absolutely no reasonable ideas to try to save our Republic. Ideally, this person will never have declared bankruptcy. Considering Trump has mismanaged not one but six different enterprises, each of which collapsed in bankruptcy, the Democrats will be able to exploit this sad reality to their political advantage.

It's the management experience that will also allow this nominee to boldly cite the need for "efficiencies" as a euphemism for the need to reduce the gap between government spending and revenue.

Someone has to forthrightly declare that the nation can never achieve prosperity by borrowing indefinitely ever greater sums each year

As an Australian, I find it very sad to see a country as great as America was, now tear itself to pieces over all the garbage that is being spoken and over two old men who aspire to the highest office in the land. And all of this "tearing" is driven by emotion and irrational thinking. Or perhaps no thinking at all but rather resorting to screaming the loudest?

When are you all going to realise that this is not about what is right or wrong for America, it is all about achieving the controls of power and to hell with the losers.

Sadly, I fear America has reached a point of no return. So much of what was inherently good about America has disappeared over the past 75 years as it began to assert itself as the guardian of “world peace and behaviour”. That might have been noble but at the same time America allowed successive Presidents to utilise Executive Orders to circumvent Congress and hence allow those who aspired to be the power behind the throne to gain greater access and manipulate decisions. Decisions that are now burdening America with a role they cannot fulfill.

First you are so correct about Biden and his characteristics. We have had to stomach 50 years of his being in government ! He has proved himself to be everything you have said him to be so God Bless America if he or his managers happen to be elected again !

As far as Trump, He is what he is ! Self-centered and a rough personality ! However I do think he has the country's best interest at heart. OR why would he allow himself to be humiliated-if you can-with his financial means !

Since Biden had 50 years to pilfer the country, let us at least give Trump a second chance to DRAIN THE SWAMP and RESTORE SOME RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL POLICIES. I bought a business once and it took me at lot longer than 4 years to locate the rats and drain the swamp !

I think he now knows the depth and breadth of the swamp and it is enormous with lots of big rats ! He now has "the DOG" and his crowd to reorganize the illegal immigrates.

I think we should give him four more years and a SECOND CHANCE to do some real sweeping !

If not then I think that Ron DeSantis ( Trump without the antics) can do it as a back-up !

It doesn't matter if you are for Biden or Trump, all Bonner gives us is insults for both.

I think the point is that neither Trump nor Biden is fit to be president. If you think voting helps, those are the choices the two major parties give you. Any sensible person will stay home on Election Day. At least that will preserve your own integrity.

Expand full comment

Bonner may be saying that, but he gives no substantial reasons why. My integrity tells me to vote for a candidate, while not perfect, is pro-production, pro-energy, hasn't swallowed the global warming BS, deregulates the economy, etc. I have my issues with Trump, but there are positives as well. With Biden, there are NO positives. To not vote and let that progressive fascist nihilist Biden get back into office is unconscionable. Even though I voted for Trump in 2020, I was telling my friends before the 2020 election that it might be good if Trump loses because he didn't balance the budget, gave out stimulus payments (which I saw as inflationary), etc. While I never thought Biden would be this bad, I also thought that if he got elected, it would expose the Democrats for what they are. That came true in spades. I would rather someone else than Trump, but he is the best we have and there is a lot of good, and yes, some bad as well.

Expand full comment

JG: AMEN. I actually thought you saw Trump as a person who has never done anything wrong, although there is enough written about him to prove otherwise.

Would you please share why Biden is a progressive fascist and why Biden would be so bad compared to Trump who was convicted on 34 felony crimes by a jury who had both dems and reps. These jurors were picked by the lawyers. Not the judge. They included a man who works sales investment ,a security engineer, House wife, a woman who works in tech, man who works as a civil litigator, a retired wealth manager, a woman who stated she could follow the Judge’s instructions, a man who works in e-commerce, a woman who said she didn’t follow the news, and a female juror who was a physical therapist.

Expand full comment

Well, if you had read my many posts, you would know about my reservations about Trump. You believe what you want to believe including your absurd "34 felony crimes" brought by a Democrat local district attorney who campaigned on getting Trump, in a trial in a 95% Democrat district, with a judge with massive conflicts of interest who limited Trump's defense in several ways. This is just one of the reasons why the Biden regime is fascist (in addition to shutting down gas pipelines, trying to dictate what vehicles and appliances we buy, attempting to force the COVID vaccine on us, etc.).

Biden said he was going to prevent Trump from being president again and all these indictments are his way of doing it. Did you know that Trump was the first ex-president to be indicted? Do you think all of our other presidents were angels? Would you consider that no other president has been indicted because of the damage it would do to our country? Do you even care? Do you think the fervent Trump supporters are going to sit by while you fascist pigs try to put him in jail, now that every other bogus Democrat effort has failed?

The charges against Trump in this particular case stem from the prosecution accusing him of making an incorrect accounting entry (a misdemeanor) which the statute of limitations ran out years ago. They resurrected it by tying it to an attempt to influence the 2016 federal election. A local DA has no (ZERO) business charging Trump in a federal election case and no jurisdiction. The DOJ refused to do it and that's where the responsibility lies. The whole case is absurd. Your idiotic accounting of who was on the jury is irrelevant because of the instructions and actions by the judge which insured a guilty verdict. The whole thing will eventually be overturned, but the fascist Democrats don't care because that will take time and will occur after the election. So, they think calling Trump a "felon" will help them in this election and Biden is already putting ads out to that effect. That's why people like you and your Democrat friends are FASCISTS! You also cannot see the consequences of your actions any further than 6 inches from your nose. Drunk with power. We'll see how that works out. (Note: Trump could have gone after Hillary after the 2016 elections for her campaign's involvement in the Steele dossier to undermine that election. He didn't.)
