I am a Canadian and we have the same monopoly with our postal system. We hear the same arguments about no one in private business wanting to provide mail delivery. Typical government! I buy the “forever” stamps as well. Now, totally unrelated to today’s Sunday sesh, how about a discussion regarding the newest addition to the US Supreme Court. My question, and I didn’t see any follow up from committee members, if Brown-Jackson cannot define what a “woman” is, and neither it seems can any congressional Democrats, how can President Biden and his party be so sure that the first “black woman” has been appointed to the US Supreme Court? Just saying…inquiring minds want to know.

Inquire no more dear sir I write from dear old England with the following personal definition : a woman is a man with a womb. I am a woman Out of my womb has popped seven human beings. After the 5th, I respectfully asked my husband (he was a man…no womb unfortunately Gerry…) if he would get some sort of gender reassignment or whatever they call it…and do the popping. He declined. Ah well…my seven humans adore me..so that’s all right then.

As a monopoly, the USPS should be making a large profit! The reason it doesn't is because it is forced to follow outrageous rules and restrictions imposed on its operations by the Congress. Congressional interference is the real problem with the USPS!

60 cents to mail a letter is not bad ....just think what FedEx or others would charge....

Worked for PO. Congress passed laws in ‘07 that forced them to put pensions/health insurance in funds 75 years out. Any plan for efficiency was voted down by congress.

That said-management is manipulative,

dishonest and woefully inept-a dinosaur looking for a tar pit.

The PO is one off the few employers left in America who pay decent wages, provide benefits and a pension. Republicans hate that.

50 Billion? they were only short 1.3G$... even if you accept the faulty premise, they only need 13G$ to stay solvent? What is the other 37G$ for? Oh.... never mind.

“... It’s the final countdown. The final countdown.” Song by rock band Europe. Is there a hidden message there? So according to AOC, the world should be in fear, because if we don’t implement the green deal, the world will end in 12 years! 😂

Just like her boy Biden, she wants to run the country on wind, she says, hurry up before we all get skinned! Wow, just when you think you’ve heard it all, a new order tall, surpasses the rest, best. 😂

Forever stamps will forever continue to increase.

I'll certainly be buying another couple years' supply of "forever stamps" this week. My inflated thanks for the reminder!

Perhaps Amazon would be interested in competing.

I can remember the $.01 postcard and the$.03 letter. I can also remember my mother giving my brother and I a nickel, occasionally, in the morning before we walked together to grade school in the WW2 years, and we would stop at a bakery and each would get a sweet roll. Today that would be $2.00, give or take. Maybe the USPS isn't so bad?

Kroger made a $4 BILLION profit in 2019. Americans obsession with consolidation has finally come back to haunt us. Too few companies control our major markets.
