The long march of human civilization was a process of taking things ‘off the table.’ Murder. Rape. Robbery. Aggressive war. Killing prisoners of war. Torture. Using force to get what you want.
Mr. Bonner seems to overlook the cultural implications of President Trump's victory. While I agree with his primary-trend analysis, President Trump brings a lot to the "table" with regard to at least a pause in the cultural suicide prevalent in this nation over the past 4 years, which actually has its roots in 2008-2016. We might not escape our political-economic fate, but we will be able to face those challenges with resolve and fortitude, instead of meekly and pitifully crumbling away to death and destruction with the Left's nihilistic agenda. With President Trump, America has a chance; without him there is NOTHING. Best always. PM
Someone tell Trump not to make Canada a 51st state he will come to regret it, its mostly lefty's hard lefty's. That would not bode well for the the land of the free. Canadians all believe there's a present under every Canadian tree.
Thank you Paul for a sound response. Articulate, thought provoking and always entertaining, Bill doesn’t have a monopoly on skepticism. Appealing to many viewpoints requires a certain panache. He has that. And behind his public persona he ought to be given credit for not revealing certain beliefs. He shares that effectiveness with Trump actually, at least tangentially. Many are now standing up openly agreeing with Trump who previously feared criticism. Why not Bonner? It’s all a style. Trump negotiations are incessant while many are clueless. Meeting with
Zuckerberg or Fetterman is useful. Seduction occurs when offering to look at your Renoir hanging in the bedroom. So many unseen things. Trump is masterful at that. Those who disagree with his public utterances or dislike him for their limited view of him might consider how effective they’d be under the fantastic circumstances Trump has faced. Bill, if you’re reading this, sorry my opinion is indirect. We all have a strategy you know!
Carter was a picked man and controlled by the "power hungry", one of the worsts Presidents, our
Country has experienced. You very easily forget the Dept. of Energy and Education came into
life during Carter, two Billion plus agency's that have cost the taxpayers mucho for ever and not
had any positive effect for the U.S.A. Then you never say how bad the jerk obama, was and the truck loads of taxpayer cash flown afar!!! Your personal dislike of President Trump, takes away anything you might have to say that could be a positive for our Country.
You can't be sure whether Trump is "Trolling" or serious, especially about Canada. It keeps both his friends an enemies guessing. "The Art of the Deal" , maybe - huh?
Delusions and Denials as far as the eye can see......the American Empire continues to descend into the swamp. Rattle against any one who isn't a Trumpster.......make discouraging remarks about good ol' Bill. While away your time praying for redemption. It all Matters Not. Tariffs and Threats do not make a leader......mafias and hooligans use those tools. My way or the highway - "off with your head". Wake-up America. The end is nigh.
I will say this to Bill. Trump got rid of Trudeaux. That is a big box checked and he is not even been sworn in yet. Second, how come tariffs are only bad if the USA uses them. All of the countries that we export to have tariffs, friend and foe. Its all about leverage. I don't think Bill knows anything about the Art of the Deal!
Trudeau got rid of Trudeau. Didn't need anyone's help with that one. He tried to enforce the jab by calling martial law. Everyone north of the border with half a brain despised his methods after that.
Well many of You disagree with Bill. I do not as what He says has merit in My eyes. Any way We will see in January 2026 how much Mr. T. has accomplished. As far as I can tell He has too much power in his hands with the will to write executive orders. There is that old saying, more or less that power corrupts and absolute power destroys .
Bill always makes some good points. Unfortunately, his good points are interspersed with swill or blatant omissions. That's how he gets away with it. It takes a lot more effort to separate the wheat from the chaff. Some days, like today, it's not worth the effort.
Bill is "on a roll," again. Maybe it's that Irish beer, ya think? Absistance could be a cure for him, but maybe we are assuming too much as it is. We do luv ya Bill or we wouldn't be paying any attention to you; or is it that we realy don"t anyway, but just, as usual, tolerating our seniors, hmm, maybe, huh?
Yup. Another Bill Bonner column. Several good points mixed with inanities. Trump has a very serious challenge ahead of him, and being Trump, he'll say some pretty controversial and sometimes silly things. Bonner wants to focus on the silly things. I think the adults in the room want to see how Trump addresses the things that matter. Bill says he won't. We'll see.
Here's the body of the text. Works for Bill's post today as well.
"I'm no Trudeau fan. Let's get that straight.
But I certainly wouldn't want to join a country who's FED is $36T in the whole, owes $156T to the world, has 850 army bases around the world, stages its own False Flag operations to keep the Military industrial complex chugging along, while it can't keep it's own house clean. Yet it wants to merge with countries that are resource rich but would give nothing in return, other than excess crime and a burden on all their children for the next few centuries?
No thank you.
Let's look at it from your perspective. Would you join forces with a company that was losing money hand over fist?
I think not.
If it came to a referendum, and it may, I think that while Trudeau has spoke with "forked tongue" too many times, he echoes the sentiments of most Canadians.
Not happening.
Unless of course the USA invades. That would be fun.
But knowing your track record on foreign incursions, including Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, it ain't going to be easy. And the world will welcome another "Ukraine war," sending weapons our way to protect against the "evil empire."
Heck its more likely you're going to have your own civil war before then and New York (and others) turn to us to become the 11th to 60th provinces.
Proverbs 16:18 @elonmusk
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. In that regard, you and Trump were meant for each other.
You make a great car. You have a great thing going with Space X and Starlink. I for one am excited for what you might do in the role of DOGE. But you do need to learn how to act like the leader you truly are, not a pubescent teen looking to shame people and kick them when they're down on social media.
And by the way, while Trudeau may act feminine, he isn't a girl. You, of all people, should know that.
I can't believe you don't want to become a colony of the US. Look at all we have done for Puerto Rico. The US will take care of you like we are taking care of our colonized Hawaiians. We'll get those Hawaiians displaced by fire soon. That is if our benevolent rich like Oprah, Obama, and Zuckerberg don't buy up the land first.
Bill has nailed it beautifully, and written so clearly that even a member of the general public should be able to see it, but they don’t. It is frustrating to know what’s happening but have absolutely no way of changing it. My son is 14 and my greatest fear should be that he survives the foolishness of youth, but it is now becoming a fear of “conscription” because of the foolishness of politicians!
Here's someone who agrees with Bill as far as there is little difference between the two parties - the great Larry Fink. Here's what Trump once said about Fink - Trump remarked: “Larry did a great job for me. He managed a lot of my money. I have to tell you, he got me great returns. From the NY Post 7/20/2024.
Yet Fink also said before the last "critical, most important election" that it really makes no difference who wins the election. Looks like we'll all being played. It's Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant. A great show and we have front row seats.
" The long march of human civilization was a process of taking things ‘off the table.’ Murder. Rape. Robbery. Aggressive war. Killing prisoners of war. Torture. Using force to get what you want. " It seems we, the people, are the stumps that didn't use these incentives to protect ourselves. I wonder where we would be if we did. ( Not the oppressive elites that never gave them up, they only talked about them... We know where they are.)

Read some Elizabeth Nixon on this outlet and you will understand that is not true.
Its a sad state of affairs. Certainly numbers are numbers if anyone wishes to look but, the covaids elixir is proof positive that the eyes never lie.

You actually believe Trump about Canada. You are as funny as he is.
You can't be sure whether Trump is "Trolling" or serious, especially about Canada. It keeps both his friends an enemies guessing. "The Art of the Deal" , maybe - huh?
Nope. Just bread and circus. Minus the bread.

I posted this on X yesterday. In response to him calling out Trudeau as a "girl" and not having any say in whether Canada becomes part of the USA.
I made sure Elon was tagged in the Tweet. So far, as expected, crickets.

That should scare every American citizen. Every taxpaying citizen is on the hook for over $300k. That's basically your house (if you have one).
Don't want any part of that. Thank you!

In the financial analysis by Dan I would comment it is more likely stocks will fall, rather than commodities rise given the global situation.
Bills the best. Agree whole heartedly with his analysis. Give it a few months and even the Trumpsters will see how hated the American Empire is.
