A joy to read your work. Beautifully written - sigh. Wish I could write like that. :)

Wow Joel! That's one to be read over and over. I think I'll print it and do a fast read every time I catch myself starting to buy into something that seems a bit too "obviously true"

This powerfully expresses what I've felt uneasy about for ages--If we don't produce anything, how are we able to easily buy everything? Clothes, fuel, furniture, food... it feels like I'm taking advantage of slavery, obscured just enough to feel ok about it.

I really didn't think I would ever find another man who grasps the power of the pen like Mr. Bonner. But Mr. Bowman, you are right up there with him, in your magnificent command of the language, and your willingness to alert a sleep-walking humanity.

The collective "we" marches on to the endgame, at the edge of the lemmings' precipice.

What a great write up and read. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your concise description of what takes me years to get across to my graduate students. Would love to be able to share this.

It actually makes me ill whenever pols and media talk about "saving our democracy". The US has never been a democracy and our founding fathers warned us about becoming one. We are a constitutional republic, NOT a democracy!

Well Joel, if that “quotidian existence” gotcha down, a fine BA steak and copious Malbec can sooth thy soul. I doubt I need to cry for you.

Don't cry for me in Argentina, indeed... Ok, I'm off to sooth the soul, as prescribed. Saludos!

Excellent article. Great to read a concise summation of all that is going on and give me cause to gnash my teeth a little more, or a lot!

Joel, this is by far the greatest writing I have ever read. I could read on and on and on. I get it! I get it all as you write it. I'm 59 years and I have loved History since I was 6. I knew sitting at my home desk in November 2019 that what was headed our way.... is just as is. I am livid at what is happening to America and I look forward to each Sunday now to see what you say BECAUSE you are on it. Bill Bonner is the King to me and here you are too. All of you are great as I feel I'm getting to know you. This is the high light of my SuperBowl Sunday! Well Wishes
