Every Democrat presidential nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate – Biden was at the bottom of his class). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school. Barack Obama was a lawyer. Michelle Obama was a lawyer. Hillary Clinton was a lawyer. Bill Clinton was a lawyer. John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards was a lawyer. Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress: Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer is a lawyer. Former Senator Harry Reid was a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different. President Trump is a businessman. President Bush 1 and 2 were businessmen. Vice President Cheney was a businessman. President Eisenhower was a 5 star General.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution: Newt Gingrich was a history professor. Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist. Ex-House Minority Leader John Boehner was a plastics manufacturer. The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon. Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against actor Ronald Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers. This is very interesting. I had never thought about it this way before.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Trump, Bush, and Cheney, or who heal the sick like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history like Gingrich. The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so, in the eyes of the Lawyers Party, we have seen the procession of official enemies grow. Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation. This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers.

Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, which, in this case should be the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians, as lawyers, begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become adverse parties of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world's population and 66% of the world's lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association go to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high.

Having scared the masses witless over a bad cold virus & suspended their rights & freedoms, ‘for their safety’. Then scare them witless over a fictional climate catastrophe, now we’ll have to suspend national sovereignty ‘for their own good’ because otherwise the worlds going to end.

Then with the one world govt in place we’ll have to ask them to accept a digital currency & social credits system - ‘for their own good’.

If only the world had ever been the way your "before" scenario describes it. The "elites" have always been with us. Until they managed to co-opt the politicians there was a glimmer of hope. Now, the order of the day is back to feudalism where the serfs work for the overlords, who dictate the rules. Capitalism died a long time ago when the anti-trust crowd fell asleep on the job; now many industries are dominated by one or two players. Cash has basically disappeared already - try getting metal money as change in a store these days.

Not just a dead sheep, a bloated dead sheep with the parasites still hanging on, sucking out any remaining juices. Yup, “We the Sheeple” are going to get what we deserve.

On a lighter note, I want to renew my subscription. But, like Bill said, those amendments have gotta go for “the Plan” to stay on track. How long do you think Substack is going to be around if guys like Bill, Joel, and others like Matt Taibbi keep rabble rousing? Do I get a refund if the First Amendment is cancelled?

Fat chance, your green backs paid for your subscription will be worthless when the digital currency is implemented, besides achievers will be squashed and the info you compiled from Bonner research will be deprogramed from your head as subversive material against the better good of the world....

I'm trying not to be too wordy in my comments. I read today how Joe (Me and Joe Biden are on a first name basis) will meet with Federal Reserve chairman Powell on Tuesday. Can I guess what Joe's handlers have asked him to lecture? No doubt they would prefer to see transportation fuels remain elevated. But there's an election soon too. Perhaps we just need to wait for Joe's gaffs in order to hear the truth.

I will restart. Energy is the key to everything. As the price of energy was increases the large cities, run by Democrats will not get food as trucker will not be able to afford to deliver products, water will be unavailable due to the cost of treatment and electricity will be too expensive or not available. It is interesting that food, water and electricity come from the areas populated by the deplorable. Perhaps these deplorable people should only care for themselves.

Bill's list was comprehensive, but I would add one more thing: Allow millions of illegal aliens to simply walk across our Southern border from all over the world and then disseminate them all over the continental U.S. This makes us poorer in multiple ways (they have to be fed, clothed, sheltered, educated, and kept healthy just for starters don't you know?).

It also increases the need for the deciders' authority and reach to further expand because there will undoubtedly be more crime and maybe throw in an assassination or major terror event or two (the FBI did just arrest an Iraqi who was plotting to kill George W.) and we'll need a lot more government provided security. Oh, and last but not least, the majority of these illegals will vote "the right way" to keep the current crop of disgusting miscreants in power in perpetuity. I'd say this qualifies for Bill's list.

Isn't the 'elephant in the room' the size of the World's population? Just after the 2nd World War (1950) it was 2.6 billion people. 70 years later (2020) it was just under 7.8 billion, a three-fold increase https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/world-population-by-year/ . While Covid-19 accelerated death for 6 million, the total population of the world increased by over 80 million per year (say 1% of the total population). So to 'stand still', we need to produce / consume 1% more each year? Where's my compounding calculator? Trouble ahead!

"...de-growth and poverty depend on stopping them. And that’s what the feds are for. "

MY PERPLEXING QUESTION: What does your study of history tell you is accomplished by making these sorts of accurate observations? What happens to outspoken, insightful critics in degrading times like ours. Particularly the influential critics? ...and the common people?

What's your purpose, Bill? Joel? Dan? With respect, how does this venting protect and prosper your readers? It seems likely to shut BPR down, and maybe bring midnight knocks at the door.

Remove God and the acknowledgment and worship of from society. In particular, the Christian God. Replace with worship of anything and anyone other than the God of the Bible. And elevate one’s self or whoever one chooses to be a god.

There’s no surer way to the destruction of any society.

And no surer way of making today slightly better then yesterday - than by turning back and acknowledging His existence and humbling ourselves before Him.
