And so we read on, enthralled. It ain’t fer the financial tips er the charts that I subscribe, but for Bill’s story telling. Colleagues try to imitate, but they don’t quite have the wisdom (read age), education, turn of phrase of the boss. There’s good reason he has too much money and confidence to care. When he finally hangs it up, or falls through one of his roofs, he will be sorely missed….

"They say that we are just 9 meals away from anarchy...hungry mobs...looting houses and taking whatever they wanted...

"What if you had to choose, between feeding yourself or feeding your children?"

Now we are moving far beyond the reasons most of us have tried to accumulate stuff and yearn for freedom.

Bill, I think Howard Ruff had you pegged.

Thank you.

If only this missive could be on the front page of every newspaper (do people still read newspapers? I fear that this mindless crusade for windmills and solar panels will continue at least until some people are so pissed off that we will be like Popeye, and say enough is enough!! Then, there will be blood? Or some form of resistance. Glad we have folks who show up here and share the voice of reason. I am old and can't shoot as well as I used to, but I am a damn good loader. lol Just sayin'

Back in my younger days I participated in, and sometimes ran, 30-day survival trips for people who wanted to test their mettle against Mother Nature. Participants were required to live off the land for one month with nothing but the clothes on their back, a small wool blanket, and a pocketknife. (I did one WITHOUT the blanket and pocketknife, and I don't recommend it just so you know.)

The clothes we had, along with the pocketknife, were certainly products made from fossil fuels, but I suppose it was still about as close as you could get to living without them.

Hundreds of people attempted the feat, but very few were able to subsist solely on what they could dredge up on a day to day basis. Very many only made it a few days before hunger, thirst, and utter fatigue convinced them that Mother Nature is a bitch and there are much better ways to live. It's funny how 30 days on the San Rafael, eating lizards, kangaroo rats, and drinking fetid water, can make you appreciate the Fossil Fuel revolution.

Should be mandatory participation for all woke earth improvers before they’re allowed to embark on their crusades

Brilliant, and we need to make sure your group of "woke earth improvers" includes all current and aspiring politicians!

The lemming mentality, combined with Marxist socialist dogma, now are significantly entrenched from cradle to workplace, communities and social chatter sites, in the ‘wealthy’ non communist dictated world

The instant ‘fix’, available at no personal cost but from the government purse, is now a right & obligation for all in the West.

Our social and economic fabric is being shredded by the likes of WEF, UN and corrupted politicians, bureaucrats who are worse than the buccaneers and pillagers of yesteryear.

The hypocrisy and data corruption, that has been Climate tinkering with no impact for maybe 100 years, along with economic lockdowns and country foreclosures, have played to dictator rulers, finance oligarchs & unseen global puppet masters of humanity.

Will the masses revolt against constant perversion and loss of freedoms for ever?

The 2023 winter deep freeze, starvation of nations, China internal or external volcanos along with other idiots with buttons to push may be a wake up call. Tipping points often inevitably create chaos.

Out of control world, best me grab another glass of Malbec and see what tomorrow brings.

And the global elite are at war with fertiliser, just look at Sri Lanka, or the Dutch farmers.

Yep, get ready for a winter of globalist inspired insanity, followed by a false flag event created by the Biden administration, followed by a limited EMP event opening the gates of hell…followed by the great reset, New World Order Disney Land world of the satanic elite. Happy place for them, hell for us…They only have as much power as we the people give…Wake up 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great read , again, as per the other comments. Still not sure though how we get infinite growth living on a planet with, presumably, finite resources? Someone way smarter than me can probably explain that one.

pete's avatar

I dont hold to the idea of finite resources and we could get into that, though more importantly its progress and if you look at the prime minister of Canada Truedirt as I prefer to call the drama teacher, he jet sets on our dime so damn frequently its not problem until its a problem. Now, how many are a waste of food?

I ll add one more axiom, species come and go.

Fair enough, re finite or not Pete, but as far as they (the resources) go I'm fairly sure all the low hanging fruit has been picked, so there's that. As for Trudeau, I feel your pain, we have his doppleganger in Jacinda Ardern down here telling us how to live our lives too. What a pair

pete's avatar

Indeed they make a pair.

I start scratching my head, if the world and the West, by definition is running out of "fossil fuel" will it or the remainder be used in WWIII ? are they daft ? I dont have the answer but something does not smell right.

John, I think that Cindy is going to get her head handed to her on a plate after the Hamilton West bi-election.

The flip side of fossil fuels is the progressive loss of other species with which we share this planet. The more of us means the less of them. In the last century, our species has become the only one since life began that can eradicate all other species not just by crowding them out, but at will.

I’m interested to see how the “diplomatic bumbling” plays out in relation to the already tenuous petrodollar. It’s a complex confidence game...

Probably Mike, but after trying to avoid it by not firing the MP they'll probably say that it's a typical by-election result - the ruling party always gets it good and hard. Anyway if the rumours are true there's a nice warm seat awaiting her at the UN. Clownworld
