And why are the choices only that they are fools OR villains? Why aren't they, in all likelihood, both fools AND villains? In my view, the longer their heads aren't on pikes (figuratively only, of course), the worse for the common man and the United States of America.

The only thing “illegal” about 6 January is that the Feds planned it, orchestrated it, and participated in it.

Oh, and the “committee” is NOT doing an investigation. A real Congressional investigation can only occur when the minority is represented by a ranking member and counsel.

So that effort is also illegal.

Hiya Dot -

Have you met my friend, AFriend? No?

That's surprising as you both seem to be next to each other with your head's in the sand and your buttocks in the air...

At the base of a free society is that people get to keep the money they earn. Taxes, regulation, and inflation deprive people of their earnings and the opportunity to earn.

I visited Monticello last week. To me, Jefferson stands for liberty; the freedom (from govt) to earn a living, to keep your money, and to make your own choices in life. We spent most of the day, but did not hear these ideals of Jefferson. Just vague platitudes, and his personal achievements.

On this day, I remember one of my favorite quotes, by French member of Parliament Ledru-Rollin, in biting sarcasm:

"There goes the mob! I must follow them, for I am their leader!"

Jefferson’s University, UVA has been taken over by the communist woke slime and they will take his statue and true life history down, and distort history as communist do. China rules our current administration and the morons who follow. We the people fight now or forever lose our peace.

It often said that France is beautiful country, the great pity is it’s inhabited by the French!

I would suggest the analogy applies to almost every country. Each has its own beauty and natural wonders, just a pity they are infested with political manipulating leaders, whom have the conniving brains of villains and thieves.

Nice statement but there is no evidence whatsoever that ballot boxes were stuffed. In Arizona Trump supporters paid for an audit. The ballots were had counted and verified. They found that a few ballots that should have been counted for Biden were not. They also found that approximately 30,000 ballots left the vote for president blank and that the Libertarian Party got 38,000 votes for president over and above their registrations. The fact is Trump is a braggart, a liar and bully and women in particular did not support him. Trump did a few good things. He also ran up a huge deficit, passed out free money and helped shut down our economy which has all contributed to the current economic disaster.

Your Democracy in small settings analysis is a good one ... I would add that in these small settings members of the group who are not treated fairly or who do not agree with the majority are generally able to leave and form another group without penalty.

That is not a reasonable option for most of us in the U.S.

Maybe that was one of the original concepts behind a republic; that “red state-blue state” thing. Sadly, even that can change. 30 years ago, I moved from an increasingly blue state to a very red state (CO). Unfortunately, we have now been overrun with those who love to spend other people’s money. This month’s latest insult is a “CO home delivery fee” on just about any delivery, state wide. I’m sure other states will follow.

Sadly enough, you and most likely I, are products of the very people you disparage. While it may be glorious to be at the front lines of any war, or revolution, the fact is, that the people who hang back and watch from afar, are the ones who get to spread their DNA.

Take away "climate change" (CC) and inflation is fairly manageable. CC roots in fossils reaches almost everything we consume. As BB so eloquently states ,"over 150 years, as nations used more oil, coal and gas. most ...of which was stored sunshine, they got richer. (And got rid of horse manure, outhouses, illnesses, freezing in the dark, etc. ) And Fred Singer's book Hot Talk, Cold Science, eloquently sums it up, "... there is no "climate crisis" resulting from human activities and none on the horizon".

It leaves us in Sri Lanka - or the land of Fernando Lamas where " It is better to look good than to feel good". Did the 70's teach us anything? I worked long hours, raised a family then saved enough to retire. Now the world is being destroyed by people who believe in utopian fantasies. America saved the world from Hitler's "White Master Race" and fought hard to combat "Red Marxism" but we seem to be losing to the "Green New Deal" which makes me feel very Blue. Russia may do very very well with its Black (oil) and Gold - Jim Degner

Fools who ignorantly stumble upon useful malice do not always stumble on. Sometimes they stop, see the brilliance, and make use of it. In the case of the USD it is as you have often said: "It's not much, but It's the least awful of all the fiat currencies available." So it survives long enough to transfer the wealth. My belief is that the money managers, together with the elite who would rot the US from the inside, have stumbled upon each other in a fine marriage of convenience. Once they've all got their fair share of the spoils secured, they'll watch, smugly congratulating themselves, as the whole contraption fails.

Very appropriate note at the end. Especially the part: “... and does it in a manner in which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.” Thanks to BPR, I’m grateful that I have been enlightened and warned well in advance. I have friends that I’ve shared this material with (only the free stuff, of course). Unfortunately they’ve ignored it and are now running around like headless chickens. Speaking of which, I’d like to nominate Ms. Yellen for a position of honor, right alongside Mr. Powell.

They are both fools and villains. What else would you expect from a lifelong politician who has never had to work a day in his/her life?Other than lining their pockets at the expense of us tax paying, hard working citizens. Never mind having any experience making payroll, paying bills and working within a budget. What could go wrong?
