Well written, our cricket leader should be made to row a boat to Egypt for the climate conference as an example for the rest of us!

Along these same lines, Australian Womens professional netball, also a geographic anomaly, refused to accept $15 million from Gina Rinehart, the richest woman in Australia and a mining magnate. This is in spite of the fact that the league faces bankruptcy. Again, it was the players who forced the issue. As Forrest says “Stupid is as Stupid does”.

I was actually going to write about that story... it was a toss up. I'd say, "next week" but, alas, there will be a whole new troop of narcissistic morons gluing themselves to our stuff to deal with before then.

"It's just not cricket" is a very Australian term which sums up this energy nonsense perfectly. The entire world is jumping on the 'Clean Energy' bandwagon, seemingly totally in denial that the world still relies on 85% of its energy coming from 'dirty energy'. Surely somewhere, at some stage a line must be drawn between what is desired and what is reality.

I live in Australia and I can tell you I am VERY concerned about our energy situation here, which is quite bizarre given we are one of the most energy rich countries in the world. We have already had MASSIVE increases to our energy bills and now they are saying our energy costs will be going up at least another 50% in the new year.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that governments of the world are colluding with each other and Central Banks to wipe out the middle class. They are driving up the prices of EVERYTHING with this insane and unrealistic push for 'clean energy', which is proving to be dirtier than carbon. They are killing global economies with inflation which THEY created. They are sending millions of people to the wall financially who invested their wealth in the traditional 'middle class safe havens' of Bonds, Stocks and Real Estate, because THEY created mega bubbles of all three sectors, which are now deflating. They continue to increase interest rates which are now squeezing the middle class financially because of all the debt they hold in this MASSIVE debt driven economy, which THEY created.

They have been putting all of this in place since the system died in 2008 and now they are executing their well laid plans with precision and the middle class are the frogs in hot water which is rapidly increasing in temperature.

I rarely write in these columns but the hypocrisy of Cummins leaves me so angry that I feel I must. Few Australians have any idea what made their country great because most of them have always lived in cities where they parasitise the labour of the wealth creators in the inland 90% of the country and have done so for the last hundred years. Cummins is a typical example of the hubris that exists almost as a disease in that hard but fair land where I spent 20 of my best years and gained the beat of wives to bring back to New Zealand.

It’s OK are new Aust govt has got a plan to make us European.

1) Close coal power stations (we are global leader in mining the highest quality coal).

2) We will also switch of gas powered stations soon (we are almost as big as Qatar as an LNG exporter).

3)As for nuclear power we won’t touch it, look at Chernobyl (also we are happy to export huge resources of uranium to anyone who wants to buy our awesome yellow cake)

4) Windmills & solar panels from China is our solution to base load needs of industry & domestic. What can go wrong, we are about

1 1/2 % , yes 1.5% contributors to CO2 to global atmosphere so are hitting our straps to go totally carbon free by 2050.

It just would not be cricket, if the country didn’t realise that

Ouch! You are correct Joel. Good luck to the cricket teams. Perhaps one day they will understand we will always use fossil fuel or dare I say nuclear to power our world.

To get an idea of the wealth of Norway, people can view vlogs posted on YouTube by a lady living in Svalbad (Spitsbergen) - a Norwegian dependency. This place is the most northerly inhabited place on the planet, has only 2000 inhabitants (plus many more polar bears) yet they seem to live the life of Reilly. Oil. And apparently they all speak English.

A great start to change would be to have journalists that, after Mr Cummins made his speech, would be willing to ask the very same questions Joel did. They may get the KJP death stare in reply, but at least the hypocrisy would be fully on display.
