What a line they fed us!!! Work hard, pay your taxes and buy a home. Born to my happy mom and dad on April 2nd, 1943. No debt, just sunshine and roses. Here I am 79 years later and I owe over $240,000 in taxes and find out my pay is the same as 1979. What a crap sandwich. I keep telling myself, what a great country. Elect folks to look out for my interests and they don't do nothing but sit on their butts, buy at least 2 homes, get insider tips on investing and send me a bill for taxes. How poorly we are served by the people who are looking out for our interests. And, if we are on the wrong side, they kick in our doors and arrest us for being on the wrong side. Dayum, where did I miss the bus? Looks like we are headed for communism, or marxism, darn sure not looking good. The article is great. Just where we are in a few short words, Screwed, again. Just sayin'

Yes, I am in a similar situation as you, but tell myself that my life was better than 95% of all the people who have ever lived! The sad part is that I am afraid that my life was better than 95% of the people yet to be born!

Yes Bill, as I stated many months ago, after every world depression in the 20th century, came a world war. It seems the powers that are want just one more before the really great reset can be achieved.

It is so evident they are creating an environment in the world for a limited nuclear exchange. All of our hard earned wealth will disappear in one day. The poor/minority/bolshevik/democrat will cheer, as everything they worked for(sarcastically)will come to fruition, same as the 1%.

Our current mission should not be on how to preserve our lifes work, but how to preserve our families lives...money will be as useless as Biden.

Guns, ammo and that beautiful shining precious metal will once again rule the world......

And even more fun - next year Social Security and all the other stuff that is "inflation indexed" may go up by 8% or more in one bump. We'll hear all kinds of whining about it, probably from the same people lined up for their corporate welfare checks in the form of "carbon credits" and "green energy" loans.

I expect Social Security to be solvent right up until the time I want to start collecting benefits (2025). Medicare may well implode before that. To Hell with the crony capitalists that are no more free market advocates than Biden is a real American.

Lol! Love the article.

If Putin loses, he will go down in history as the biggest loser in the history of the world, he is better off hanging himself, than being called a loser, for the rest of his miserable life! 😂

What a fudgecake sissy, that Putin, more like a bag of pudding! Go big or go home, balls to the wall, go out like a champ, like James Dean, with dignity, doing what you love. Anyway, he’s a clown, who cares! 😂

Great inflation analysis Bill, a true expert, awesome perspective. Love the bottom line of it all, we’re pretty much all screwed and out money ain’t worth a rat’s ass. 😂🤣

Bill you don't know anything about climate science by your own admission, so please stop broadcasting your cynicism and stick to your beat and leave the real science to the guys that know more about it than you know about money ..

You are a fool about this particular issue:

https://www.justfactsdaily.com/electric-cars-are-not-zero-emission-vehicles

EV's are actually "dirtier" than gas and diesel powered vehicles. Even if they were the panacea you seem to think they are, I have one question for you: Where does electricity come from?

Expand full comment

Regardless of what you think, EV's are not"dirtier" than gas or diesel powered vehicles. Got stuck on the freeway behind a diesel car and was getting sick from the fumes. There are a few articles like the one you mentioned. ICE car companies have not had a great history with being pollution free. Electric cars are 3 times cleaner than gas or diesel cars. More and more research shows the lifetime impact of electric is less than the impact of combustion engine vehicles. Article from Forbes Wheels. Try one..you might like it!

It is the dirty power used to charge them that is the problem.

Well, it's called Electricity. You plug it in the wall in your garage to charge.

Wow, your response to Clem reveals everything anybody needs to know about people that worship at the alter of "climate change" and all the nonsense (like EV's) that goes with it. First, I'll point out that Mr. Altschule didn't answer my very simple question above: Where does electricity come from? That's because he either doesn't know (like you) or he doesn't want to say because the answer obliterates the whole case for EV's.

The answer is: Roughly 85% of all the electricity created comes from fossil fuel sources, the rest is from hydro-power, nuclear plants and renewables (ie wind and solar). The climate change wackos are trying to kill off nuclear which is stupid because nuclear is going to be the ultimate solution to all of the world's energy sourcing problems, but that's a discussion for another day (once the adults get back in charge of running the government).

So the more people that just "plug it in the wall in their garage to charge" the more that fossil fuels will be needed. That's the lunacy of the whole "green" argument. The day might eventually come when there are enough "renewable" energy sources to produce the amount of electricity to reach the utopia the climate wackos think will result, but no serious scientist is saying the wherewithal exists now or that we're anywhere close to making it exist. We're so far from it my 31 year old twin sons won't see it in their lifetimes and what Biden and his administration are doing is so disingenuous it's pathetic. (Their goal has nothing to do with solving climate change, that's' a rouse which I'll explain below.)

Now on to the argument as to why EV's are dirtier. It has more to do with the manufacturing process than the operation of the vehicles. While it's true EV operation emits less carbon than a conventional gas or diesel vehicle, it takes so much more fossil fuel energy to manufacture an EV that all the operational savings are offset (by a lot). In other words, if you start with the life of each vehicle (from the beginning of the manufacturing process until it ends up in a scrap heap) the EV requires far more fossil fuel and releases far more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than conventional vehicles. And, that doesn't even address what happens to "Mother Earth" (that's said sarcastically) in the mining processes that must happen in order to harvest the raw materials needed to make EV components. What's really happening is that the drilling processes necessary to harvest fossil fuels in the industrialized world are being transferred to mining processes in the third world. Who cares if they're leveling entire mountain ranges in Africa and if little kids are handling lithium with their bare hands right?

Do some real research and you'll learn that nothing I'm saying here is false or can be refuted. The green movement originated a long time ago in Europe (it's a component/tool of the "Degrowth Movement") which is rooted in Marxist ideology. They thought the climate change hoax would scare people into complying with their lunacy and it hasn't worked out as quickly as they wanted so now governments that have bought into it are foisting it on their people forcibly. Digital currency is going to be the next (and last) shoe to drop. Spare me any "conspiracy theory" claptrap because you can easily find plenty of documentation about the Degrowth Movement and they unabashedly write about exactly what they're up to. If you read this carefully and bother to do any research it should have been edifying.

Thanks for your response. I have read much of the articles that you mentioned. But with the improvements that Tesla has made over the last few years, I still think EV's are still better in the long run. By the way, the USA and other countries have been sending their old batteries to the third world countries for many many years now. Except for Tesla, the other car makers are just getting started this year...The Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt are the exception.

I have solar which I use to charge my car. I could go on and on, but, alas, it's getting late and I must go.

I hold onto a small hope that my electric power plant is more heavily regulated, and pays more attention to, the pollution coming out of its stacks than most of the exhaust/emission systems I see on the road every day - but who knows?!

Expand full comment

The alleged harmful gasses from vehicle exhaust are invisible. What you can see is steam and particulates. The steam evaporates and the particulates drop on the roadway.

Expand full comment

The harmful gasses from the ICE cars, which have gotten better, are still worse than EV's.
