I hope Bill enjoys his cruise. From my viewpoint, he needed a vacation. Unlike the previous administration, this one is running circles around Bill. Nobody knows how this will work out, and how long it will take, but moves, big moves, are being made. Trump is not sitting on the sidelines. This is what action looks like. Nobody that voted for Trump wanted status quo, that only benefited the deep state, snakes, cheats, and hacks.

Poor Ol' Bill doesn't get a break. And, he didn't even suggest Trump needs to breakaway from Israel and the Jewish Lobby. Certainly isn't focusing back on America when all he can see is whatever Netanyahu tells him to see. Why does America care about Iran? Really? Iran isn't going to attack the USofA. Why does Trump have to be the BIG BULLY demanding everyone to bow down to him or else? Doesn't he understand America is no longer the only "important" and "powerful" country in the World? Why does it always have to be "US" versus "Them"? Why can't Trump end all the foreign entanglements? Why has no one been indicted for COVID disaster that killed and injured so many? And how about all the stolen money by the elites in the Government? Oh, yes, USAid is shutdown but what about all the stolen funds? How about an audit of Fort Knox? How about releasing the real Epstein files or the Kennedys assassination (both JFK and RFK)? Harris would have been a huge disaster because like Biden we peons would never know who was in charge. All I have seen so far is bluster and noise primarily. And, focus on America? I am seeing the focus on Canada, Greenland, Panama, and now bombing anyone and everyone. Bomb, Bomb, Bomb. What has happened to diplomacy? Negotiations? Yes - Musk and DOGE have uncovered corruption but so what? Nothing happens - no consequences for anyone except the poor lowly smucks fired from their positions. Yes - the Government needs to be pared down drastically but frankly, I don't see that happening. There is HUGE waste in the Military Industrial Complex. But, apparently, that is an "Untouchable" like the support of Israel. The budget will never be balanced and the deficit will continue to soar. I am glad it is Trump and not the Democrats running the show again. But - real change - I don't see it yet. As always......one ol' man's opinion.

As to Bombings - recent article: Iranian preparations. Iran has reportedly placed its military on high alert in anticipation of a possible Israeli strike. It has also reportedly readied more than a thousand heavy hypersonic ballistic missiles to target nuclear facilities in Israel. On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urged the chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency to take a “clear stance” on U.S. threats against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

And, while this points to Israel, anyone want to hazard a guess how many might be targeting Diego Garcia or towards the USS Truman and USS Carl Vinson in the Red Sea? Hopefully, Trump just continues his blustering and isn't stupid enough to actually strike Iran. If not, this could trigger a nuclear exchange. Does Trump remember Russia and Iran have a Mutual Defense Treaty?

from an ol'salt:

a) Israel has one nuclear facility, you make it sound like there are dozens. b) Iran does not have the range to reach Diego Garcia. C) They also do not possess hypersonic missiles D) They can't get close to either aircraft carrier w/o being annihilated. Having sailed that area of the globe, (on an aircraft carrier) and actually been in Iran (during the hostage rescue mission 1980), trust me, they are crapping in thier pants.

BTW, they also have lost all forms of air defense batteries. When they foolishly attempted to blow up Israel with 200 projectiles (I won't call em missiles as they were sort of self guided), only 7 got through and landed harmlessly in the dessert. Israel responded and took out each and every S-300 and surprisingly the s-400 missile defense systems. They are currently naked, which is why you hear virtually nothing from them.

Trumps (in your words) bluster is not only effective, it is producing results. Finally, do you think that MDT you speak of will be enforced? Russia is having a hard time with Ukraine, do you really think they will come to Iran's aid? With what? Despite all the BS, negotiating on the international stage is all about being a bully. It is what is understood. For all your belly aching, remember, Trump was the only President, ever, to not get the US in a war. The only one. Why? I'll tell you, he paints an unpredictable picture, keeping them all on thier toes. Believe me, it is working.

Thank you - I’m wondering how you know my sources such that they should be broadened. Could it be you want more “liberal facts” peppered in. Sorry, I speak bluntly and always based on articulate research and non-partisan fact. Once you go through the distillation process and discount all the BS, posturing and desire you are left with ….. fact.

Bill, I am sure you do not read any of these comments, but for those who do, please realize from today's mis-begotten connection of the Arian controversy of the 4th Century with (terrorism? communism? spies?) whatever he was trying to clumsily connect it to, Bill apparently does not have firm understanding of the basics of Christian faith or Church History. He became an Arian today based on a cruise ship lecture?! Need I say more? I would love to hear the qualifications of the lecturer. Now, most historical heresies did not fully go away. The organized inheritors of Arianism today are the Jehovah's Witnesses. I guess Bill will have to see if there is a Kingdom Hall in Ireland when he gets there. Better yet, maybe he is just seasick and he will seek out some reliable Orthodox Christian teaching and come to his senses.

"Arianism — we found ourselves in agreement with it. Today, most Christians are probably Arians without realizing it." Uh, no. Most all Christians recognize the original Faith when they encounter it, whether in the original Nicene Creed or other authoritative ancient Christian teachings which defend that Faith from all the various attacks it has endured.

Bill believes Christ is a remarkable man! What man has risen from the dead?

Christ is the Word, the alpha and omega. He said; “Heaven and earth might pass away, but my Word will not pass away.

You may know Christ two ways: the Tolstoy way, putting the Word in practice or the Paul way, by experience.

I am a decidedly unremarkable man, but I experienced Christ, the living God, in a remarkable way.

Of course, that testimony, I have found, is worthless to both Christians and so-called heathens. You either choose Christ or the ways of man.

It is my knowledge that unless you put your hand in his side, as Thomas, you will never amount to much of a Christian. That is the problem of the world.

Some, now, can understand Bill’s hatred for Trump.

Why build chapels and go to mass for “a remarkable man.”

Obviously, the dots Bill follows are skewed, have no foundation in “The truth and the way.” His words are chaff in the wind.

Well Mr. Xavier N. I think Bill follows the dots of the world. This is what gives Him His thoughts. The Spiritual matters are a different matter. That is between You and Your Savior. Just My opinion, have been known to wrong before. But I still learn from being wrong.

Thank you, Bill, for an inside, closeup, look at stream-of-consciousness thinking and loose association of facts. Whatever pops into your head at any particular moment gets written down and linked to any other related or unrelated phenomena that pops into your head five seconds later. And, somehow, you expect that your readers will swallow this "hole". Some will. But from my review of the comments on these pages over the past year, there are many more that won't.

John, that appears to be the objective. Get the reader to express views. This is one reason I like the rebuttals of the readers . It gives Me choice, if that is the correct word ? Views open up My mind, which can be shut like a trap door at times. This is My view.

Bill, by only quoting a small portion of the Creed’s definition of the person of Christ, you then created a false dichotomy by asking if Jesus Christ was God or man - one or the other. Shortly after the passage you quoted it says, referring to Unum Dominum Jesus Christum, “Who for us men and our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary and was made man.” This is the great mystery of the Incarnation- God being made man, two natures, human and divine, in one person. The correct answer to your question was Both. Jesus Christ is both God and man. I hope you just dozed off for a minute or two and missed the good parts of the lecture. I’ve read several of your books over the years, and truth be told, I’m surprised you didn’t know this!

Nevertheless I do enjoy your missives. You’re a voice of reason in an increasingly insane world.

Please excuse my little rant here. It’s just that as a cultured man (and I do consider you a cultured man) you should know this.

FYI . . .

Two Years Before the Mast is a memoir by the American author Richard Henry Dana Jr., published in 1840, having been written after a two-year sea voyage from Boston to California on a merchant ship starting in 1834. A film adaptation under the same name was released in 1946.
