Washington, DC
By Dan Denning
Greetings from the Swamp. While Tom and his family are in north west India (Rajasthan, or ‘the land of kings’), Bill and I got together this week in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore to talk about markets, history, and our plans for BPR for 2025 (we also recorded Bill’s quarterly State of the Empire interview, with a surprise…stay tuned for that next week).
It’s always good to have long, important conversations in person. Zoom meetings (and even the traditional phone call, which many young people seem to avoid these days) can only accomplish so much. If your’e going to have a proper discussion about Palantir, deflation, and being on the unpopular end of history, it’s better to be face to face.
Speaking of which, paid readers should look for a new Private Briefing tomorrow as well. I’ll send it out before I hit the friendly skies to return to Laramie. And if you’re a new susbcrber, this week saw the return of Tom’s Postcards. These are short notes from the weird places our Investment Director, Tom Dyson, is travelling with his wife Kate and their three children (Dustin, Myles, and Penny).
Until Monday!
Dan
P.S. Thanks to those readers who wrote it with suggestions on who to talk to for a Private Briefing on the suppression of silver prices. I’m on the case and will report back to you soon. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, check out the first article below.
An 'illegal' action
For new readers, before he settled down in London two years ago, Investment Director Tom Dyson was on a perpetual around-the-world trip with his wife Kate and their children Dusty, Miles, and Penny.
