Actually, Bill, your statement, “no one if above the law” is incorrect. If you are a prominent democrat say like Hillary, then you are above the law. Much of what you opine is okay with me even though I may disagree with you. But, you need to amend your essay to include the one-sided application of the law towards the conservatives and the absence of the law’s application to liberals. That, Bill, is what pisses off most of the American public who don’t side with either extreme.

According to Alan Dershowitz who has been ostracized by the left because he helped Trump with constitutional issues in his impeachment trial, it is impossible for Donald Trump to get a fair trial in NYC. It is 90% registered democrats and none of the jurors could have returned to a normal life if they had not convicted Trump. Further, former prosecutors and constitutional law professors like Turley say the trial was unfair and there are numerous grounds for reversal. I don’t like Donald Trump but even people I don’t like should get a fair trial. He did not.

Right. Two Americas. Third World America comprised of about four dozen U.S. cities; and First World America, comprised of the suburbs and small-town/rural areas. Notice the trial judge wouldn't allow a change of venue to the suburbs. Speaks volumes. And the RINO (Establishment-selected) special prosecutor wouldn't prosecute Pres. Biden because he's too senile to stand trial. All this nonsense is Beyond Third World.

But if the Dems touch the suburbs in a negative way, where almost all important elections are decided, they are political dog meat. So the destructive Left is checked to a certain extent. But this debt-for-jobs bubble will eventually pop, costing millions of suburbanites their jobs; or, the globalist Fed will step in and radically reduce interest rates and pump QE like never before to artificially prop up jobs. But this will cause hyper-inflation. So either scenario is pretty awful. And scary, because will the U.S. explode into mass violence when it happens? Pacified suburbanites better wake up!

Another symptom of a sick society is the gleeful howling over another’s misfortune. The “cultural rot” continues to spread.

Yes rkf, the gleeful howling and laughter is the ultimate proof of a demented and corrupt people, who cheer the destruction of the same country that provided them everything they own, as we see In many cities, robbing and looting until not one business survives. Don’t spare the other party or many in the bureaucracy Steve L. Through fear, ignorance, disengagement, and malevolent intent, we are all complicit in the dismemberment of a society. Sadly, the whole world is experiencing this turmoil. What little optimism remaining in me hopes this could be the stirring of the stream that clears the waters. Yes rkf, the “whole world” is in turmoil because we accepted a corrupt election and an unprecedented coup on our last administration. Never a Trump fan, but we all know this world terror was caused by the RINOs, most of the democrats and the communists who control them. If you’re counting on a hero or movement to clean the swamp waters, you’re experiencing the same delusional dreams of most Americans. What would be your best guess as to how to rid the USA of the communists who control it?

Sallie,I personally think America is over. As anyone on this site knows, I’ve been explaining my strategy on how myself, family and friends have been preparing for years. Doesn’t mean anything, as the once great Mike Tyson says, “Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face”. This coming event will be more like getting hit by a truck. Can’t purge the communist from America because they control her now. It will be the good who will be purged, as we see everything is In reverse, men are women, women are men, illegals get everything for free, Americans lose everything paying for them, theft and robbery are considered equity, lawlessness rules and crime is rewarded as justice. Good is bad and bad is good. Communism. The only hope I see is our second amendment, the rest is up to those who honestly believe in it🤔

Steve, you may be right. Half of our country has socialist tendencies. Many want free stuff. They believe in socialist "public" education, Social Security (soon to be an oxymoron since they will find out there is no guaranteed security) and Medicare, including many of the so-called conservatives. Atlas is Shrugging and unless more Americans wake up and realize that prosperity only comes from rational thinking and the subsequent actions, then we will eventually go down the drain. I haven't totally given up. I would like to think that while many Americans don't understand the issue on a fundamental philosophical level, many have a gut feeling of what is right. If so, they will have to do battle against the progressive fascist nihilist horde to win our country back. I hope the battle is a battle of ideas as the left is intellectually bankrupt, but many on the right cannot fully articulate the case for individual rights on a fundamental level.

I hate to bring up “The Gulag” but it’s a long book with many asides you look up on Wikipedia.

A crazy time, 30 million killed, orchestrated by Stalin and in the 1930’s they went after the original Bolsheviks.

Two times in the 20th century, Nazis and Soviets. Never happened on such a scale before, mass killing, horrible crimes committed by the committed.

Remember when they were calling for the death of anti vaxers. It got a little crazy.

It’s been crazy, about 10 million dead in US wars. No one cares that 500 thousand Ukrainian soldiers are dead; kill more Russians. We collated body counts in Vietnam; Mai Lai , no one batted an eye.

Genocidal annihilation in Gaza, women and children, everyone supports it, justifies it. And it’s orchestrated by a theocracy. People wail at the wall for more killing.

The Trump conviction and presidency proves there is a crazy deep state that democracy ceased to exist on a November day in 1963.

Americans are primed to be murderers; they already are.

It’s only a matter of time before we are the Gulag. These phenomena, in the modern world, only get worse. Most of us will joyfully join in or sit on our hands in fear and ignorance.

Bill. most of your opinions I tend to agree with and some I do not. Most of the talking heads that I read, yours included, falsely believe that this Trump legal issue is new news. It is not. If you are a small business owner and operator like myself, this Judicial corruption for me started in 1997. For others maybe sooner. The Judiciary has been politically corrupt for a very long time. It did not just happen because of their dislike for Trump. The system is rotten with rotten lawyers which is exactly what the Judiciary is made up of from top to bottom. There is a favorite quote from Albert Einstein I sourced from the Epoch Times and is "WE CAN'T SOLVE TODAY'S PROBLEMS WITH THE MENTALITY THAT CREATED THEM" I have a website that, I think, describes the source of the problem and how voters can fix it. see www.StopLawyersNow.org. I got punched in the face when I sold my small business in the early 1990's. How was I punched you may ask? After fighting our local, county, state and Federal governments for decades over city codes, OSHA rules, EPA rules, tax deduction issues, property taxes issues, real-estate fees & sale taxes, etc...

I discoved that my partners in my business was the governments. How you say? I was taxed over 50% on my capital gains by "my" governments. Hence, they gained more that I did for my blood, sweat and tears over decades of work and all they did was make my life more difficult and costly. Disgusting, why should they benefit at that level for doing nothing but being present. Yes, America is great and better that most other countries, but it has it's warts and taxes, corruption, lack of ethics, lack of fairness, etc.

Mr DeFouw, that sobering statement (business partners) is indeed a painful, punch in the face. Often preceded by repeated body blows. Not the least of which are not inconsequential, benign, tax audits which come with a hefty price tag punch in order to defend one’s GAAP.

Long gone are the days when Judge Learned Hand’s tax rulings; those days are a distant, fond memory. Yet Hand’s rulings are “case law,”, our elected 542 just cannot stand it: "Any one may so arrange his affairs that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which will best pay the Treasury; there is not even a patriotic duty to increase one's taxes."

May be good for the 542, not the proles.

Mr McMaster, you’ve touched on a tentacle of a raw nerve of countless Americans who cannot fathom how their liberties are encroached upon. Thank you.

For purposes of this example, the actual increase of many decades, in regulations has been exponential. 10’s of thousands of obstacles and obstructions are put in the path of and effect nearly every American.

As of August 2022 (yes, in just 2 years) there have been over 3,500 proposed rules published in the Federal Register since January 1, 2021 (https://www.federalregister.gov/). These rules will eventually be codified into the CFR once they become effective.

It only gets worse. The hierarchy of the CFR goes like this; Titles: The CFR is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to federal regulation. Chapters: Each title is divided into chapters, which usually bear the name of the issuing agency. Parts: Each chapter is further subdivided into parts that cover specific regulatory areas.

Sections: Parts are organized into [§] sections, and most citations to the CFR refer to material at the section level. Large parts may be subdivided into subparts, which are denoted by letters of the alphabet (A-Z).

15 titles alone have been added to the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations since 2020. Since 2024, there have been approximately 22,000 additions to the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

My fellow readers, do you have some unused paint, solvent, gasoline, motor oil, whatever[?]

We’d better check into whether or not it is properly stored and the proximity of the FIRE EXTINGUISHER(s) and if properly maintained\certified

And heaven help us with those flashlight batteries AND that emergency backup solar battery; we had better know exactly whether or not that battery has a very high (or low) rate of thermal runaway, especially if the G-men come around to inquire about inventory of ammunition and explosives (AE).

The purpose of the relentless attacks from the political left against Donald Trump are to extinguish Populism as a political movement once and forever. They don’t really hate Donald Trump the man(he was once one of them and regularly rubbed shoulders in their circles). They hate, they loathe, what he came to represent, out of seeming nowhere, in 2015. January 6 was intended to be a stake in the heart to the idea of public uprising, putting fear in the hearts of every disgruntled grass roots populist that they too could be ‘disappeared’, never to see there families again, or at least for a very long time. They were in charge and would prove it. The Rule of Law was gone along with the US Constitution. Might now made ineluctable Right, and they would prove it over and over again in case there were any who had not yet gotten the memo. And Donald Trump’s trial and conviction would be no different. It would signal who was in charge, that there really was only one Sheriff in town, and he was in town to stay.

The interesting aspect of this trial is that democrats ( or as I have relabeled them the degenerates) will tell you that justice is served. For those who believe that this was a fair trial I would point out that the judge is a Biden supporter, his daughter a member of the democratic machine who was making money off the case and Alvin Bragg who ran on getting Trump. So if you believe this was fair you are in serious need of therapy. New York has become a cess pool and why anybody lives or visits there is beyond me. I had an interesting conversation with a friend who asked if I was going to vote for a convicted felon. JW: you can't do anything; the system is rigged. Even Bill Bonner admits it. What you must do, in my opinion, is prepare for the next, new "normal", which is fascism, the marriage of big government and big business. But don't worry; you'll own nothing and like it, because this time (wink, wink) communism will be implemented CORRECTLY. Best always. PM

You’re right, of course. I was just wondering, how many people does it take to fill a mass grave before communism is done right?

Expand full comment

LOL! You are right, of course, but you're thinking like someone who values an individual life. Communists don't. Individuals are not important - they are to be sacrificed for the cause - hence, the number that can be sacrificed is infinite. The philosophers of the left have stated this many times in many ways. This is why the American Progressives explain things in terms of the group you "belong" to. You are not a unique individual - you are just a cog in the "will" of the group. You do not determine what you should think or do, the group determines what you should think and do....... You are nothing, the group is everything. Hence, you are expendable.
