THANKS MY FRIENDS, for letting me spend the hour with you guys. All my life I've looked for and loved to converse with intelligent people. Although I'm invisible to you, I enjoy the pleasure of your company. Your sense of realism (nihilism?) helps to know where we are in the world. Like perhaps many of your customers, I'm not wealthy and I know we are basically doomed. Well not really. We'll all shuffle off this mortal coil soon enough. Dan's genius in the details of macro/micro economics helps with a sense of how to avoid the oncoming semi-truck of pain. Tom's albeit tentative recommendations on how to protect our assets becomes my bible. (How's that for faith?)
One of the big questions in my political philosophy is whether we ever had real statesmen running our country. I suspect that it's "the same as it ever was". But I have blind faith that the 18th century in America had more than it's share of men of character, rather than the mice of men running us now.
Dean-O, welcome to the discussion, amigo! The folks here don’t agree on everything…but that’s OK because we’re all grown ups and we can have spirited discourse and agree/disagree without anything getting “bowed up,” as we say down South.
Speaking of Merlot…for Father’s Day I enjoyed the first merlot I’ve had in many moons. It was Grandfather Vineyards’ ”the Scholar” a 2017 Yadkin Valley (NC) Merlot which was produced with Appalachian State University viticulture students. Very tasty!
Spoke to my son in Tailand last night, discussing Chinese digital currency. According to him everyone has to "refresh" their score every three days. TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF ACTIONS.
I agree with you entirely. Very scary. There are so many. possibilities, especially with government digital dollar. Let's hope there's someone up in heaven who will say "that's enough" Worst case scenario, war and revolution. Best case, we'll find a way to muddle through as John Mauldin used to say. My son lives in China and knows how the digital dollar controls everyone in the country.
Thanks to all members of the Bonner Private Research team for their making some sense of the perplexing problems we face today so that a person can prepare as best as possible.
Thank you for the candid, truthful, insightful discussion. I enjoyed it immensely. Bill, your knowledge and personal experiences of “history repeating itself” is wonderful. Joel your approach to discussing very “heavy” topics in a light hearted way helps turn a sad/oppressive reality into a “we are all in this together and we will get through it” plan. Thank you to the entire team at BPR for helping to make sense of these chaotic times.
There is always change. Things are getting better or worse, always. Clearly things have getting worse for a long time. The change needed to reverse the course is absent. The temporary fixes are only kicking the can down the road. Sad! You are helping a lot, but I fear there is a major upheaval on the horizon. When, I have no idea. We need a leader who has the fortitude to lead. What we have with Biden or Trump is a joke. The question is who can lead us.........
Jealous of Joel! I would like to spend an hour with Mr. Bonner. Ellicott City is where I reside. Married a Calvert County girl (currently a disgruntled real estate attorney) that actually cut tobacco for a couple days in the early 80's. We can Zoom it. I will make a great contrarian indicator. THAT, I know I'm good at :-)
I don't understand why it takes a day or two to produce the text from speech. Surely it can be immediate with only the need, if you want, to proof read it.
Great Session. Really enjoyed it. Please do it again soon, even if only by zoom.
To your comments about Janet Yellen not seeing inflation coming ....maybe you could comp her a subscription?
Bill is a wise man that’s for sure, his daily missives are never missed by me.

China is the prototype test for the globalist's plans.
Rules for us, but not for them.
Carbon taxes for us, but not for them.
Transparency for us, but not for them.
Accountability for us, but not for them.
And so it goes until it doesn't go that way any more.
