Wine from the road at the end of the world...

By Will Bonner
When we first began restoring a ranch in Argentina’s Calchaquí Valley, we weren’t thinking about wine.
We were thinking about land. About independence. About building something that could last—without compromise.
But over time, we found ourselves drawn to the vines already growing there.
And to the handful of high-altitude vineyards scattered across the valley—places too remote for commercial production, too extreme for most farmers, and too honest for modern winemaking.
Today, we work with these families—quietly producing small-batch Malbecs grown at elevations upwards of 8,950 feet.
Wines shaped by the mountain…
By altitude, wild yeast, and stone…
By what’s left out, not what’s added in.
We’ve brought a small collection of them back with us, and we’ve set aside a limited allocation for Bonner Private Research readers.
You can still get $50 off your order if you’d like to try them.
One of the wines - Tacana - comes from our own vineyard at the Finca Gualfín ranch.
It’s made only when the growing season allows, and in small enough quantities that we usually just drink it ourselves.
These aren’t wines built for scale.
They’re wines made with the same philosophy that guides everything we do: go deeper, go higher, and stay small.
If that sounds like your kind of bottle, you’ll find them here: Reserve your collection.
To rugged places and the things they teach us,
