Remember we needed only 15 days to slow the curve...

....but you took 3 years to start relinquishing powers?

Remember NatSec wasn’t spying on Americans...

...when it in fact was?

Remember when it was deadly to visit a dying loved one...

...but George Floyd protests were healthy?

Remember when questioning election integrity was a patriotic duty...

....until it was a threat to democracy?

Remember when we were done with bank bailouts....

....until the very next bank failure?

Remember when freedom of speech was a fundamental right...

....until it came to speech you don’t like?

Remember when sanctions and global shunning would crush Russia...

....but they didn’t?

We remember. And more and more people now recognize the depth and breadth of the lies that have been told and are being told to us plebes in order for a small group of elites to tighten and maintain power. The lies and the embedded corruption bankrupting our country and citizenry will soon meet the same fate of similarly corrupt and vapid empires strewn through history.

Remember when “global cooling” was going to kill everyone, but it didn’t.

Remember when “global warming” was going to kill everyone but it didn’t.

Remember when “climate change” was going to kill everyone but it didn’t.

Remember when banning “assault weapons” would reduce crime, but it didn’t.

Remember when the “Inflation Reduction Act” would lower inflation, but it didn’t.

I could dredge up more, but my head is exploding. Think I’ll join the Peasant’s representative and have a glass of wine…

Absolutely awesome essay Joel! Truly a perfect summary of the state of the world at present: I’m sure others will find it is wrong or not inclusive enough, or a conspiracy theory, but keep it going as truthfully as you do now, because the detractors know that they’re wrong in the end, and the tide will turn, either peacefully or with revolution as has always happened in the past

Articles will be written, pleading for olive branches, tolerance and understanding too.

I’m more about an eye for an eye on this one.

2-3 years of lockdowns, restrictions for them, while the world parades on.. various humiliations , and then maybe we can talk. As a final tip I’ll give an average politician a 25% haircut on their savings and then we can talk about olive branches.

What about that war on drugs – where today more than ever – drugs are killing our population!

And let’s not forget the infamous war against the Taliban, where we spent 20 years in Afghanistan, at a cost of billions of dollars, and the loss of American lives, only to turn the country back over to the Taliban!

Seems like our overlords are some of the stupidest people on the planet!

When you promised that the Secret Service will protect the life of JFK and yet it was his own driver who delivered the final shot?

When you promised that Capitol Police would secure The People's Building, then led The People in and even killed them once inside, all to distract a rigged election and find an emergency excuse to ratify said results against the lawful request of a congressional inquiry?

When you took our children by force, promising to make them smarter, to only abandoned them on street corners, indoctrinated, violent, drug-addicted, lazy, and stupid?

When you took an oath to secure The Bill of Rights, our borders, and our sovereignty, yet continuously give that all away to some unknown global elite?

We no longer ask for an apology and left only to ask of ourselves, "How could We have been so gullible to have believed and put our trust in you?" And as we inquire into that question and realize that we were duped, by promises of an easy life, not unlike sheep left to graze in the friendly pasture, under the bright blue sky, calm cool breeze, sunny afternoon...

Wake Up People! ❤️

Hi Mark -

Wow! Had no idea EO11110 hadn't been revoked.

Hmmmm - that could represent a great opportunity in the near future. If only we could get some enterprising young president* in there who owns a set made of steel.

No - I'm NOT talking about my great Governor Ronnie D. The jury is still out on him, so to speak, and I'm liking less and less the better I get to know him. Just sayin'...

Hi Steve -

All in on DeSantis - for now. He's been a great Gov., but there are some red flags waving hard in the last 6-8 weeks. I'll go over them in a later post.

I noticed that PG was starting to go into back postings and delete all, then we he was "caught up" with old stuff, he started deleting whatever he wrote in a given day first thing the following morning. Or so it seemed - I wasn't really studying it.

Last week I figured he was on the Outer Banks enjoying some PG + wife time, but maybe he has finally made good on his threats to leave us hanging. I hope that's not the case and I hope he is well...

Joel, you absolutely nailed it!!!!! You had me at "To whom remain unconcerned." This might be your best one to date, and that's saying a lot. Thank you, I really needed this one :-)

Expand full comment
Alan Eade's avatar

Would have been even better had Joel written “To whoever remains unconcerned,” as “whom,” a pronoun in the objective case, simply doesn’t work as the subject of the clause that follows “To,” which entire clause is the object of that preposition. I admit that this is a mere trifle in what is yet another wonderful essay from Joel.

This topic that Joel has "unearthed" would be a fabulous non-fiction book in any bookstore. It would shoot to the top of the New York Times hitlist.

If only it ever it was allowed to see the light of day.

I would personally add,

Remember when it was deemed by the Warren Commission, that JFK's death was NOT because of a conspiracy? And then in 1979, an audio tape of a motorcycle policeman's dictabelt caused the House Select Committee on Assassinations to rule that Kennedy was "probably" assassinated as a result of a conspiracy.

Remember when Lee Harvey Oswald was labeled a defector, a nutjob and the lone gunman? Only to have a woman come out of the weeds in 1999 to tell LHO's final true moments in the summer of 1963 as an operative for one of the US government's alphabet arms.

Remember when the US government told us nothing happened in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947? And hundreds of people came forth afterwards, including Lt. Col. Philip J Corso, who bluntly stated the opposite.

Remember when the US government said that flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon? And yet, not a single body was recovered from that crash. Or any significant airplane debris.

Remember when the US government said that it was flight 93, that crashed into a field near Shanksville, PA on Sept 11, 2001? When in fact, it was a giant crater, with absolutely NO bodies or plane debris, not indicative of a giant plane crash. Or any significant airplane debris.

Remember when the government told the world in 2001, that both twin towers came down as a result of aviation fuel melting steel and causing a symmetrical catastrophic collapse? And then NIST admitted to the world later, that NONE of the debris including the dust or the steel members (which had "broken" in convenient single story pieces) were ever tested for controlled demolition because they were never TOLD to look for controlled demolition.

Remember when the government (George Bush) said, "Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists" in an address to Congress? When in fact, THEY were the terrorists. Not much choice there.

ChatGPT gives us a glimpse into the lies. Here are it's TOP 5.

Gulf of Tonkin Incident: The US government claimed that North Vietnamese boats had attacked US destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964, which led to the escalation of the Vietnam War. However, later investigations found that the second attack never happened, and the first attack was in response to US aggression.

Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq: In the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the US government claimed that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. However, after the invasion, no such weapons were found.

COINTELPRO: The FBI ran a covert program known as COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program) from the 1950s to the 1970s, which targeted political dissidents and groups. The program involved illegal surveillance, disruption, and even assassination attempts, which the government initially denied.

NSA Surveillance: In 2013, Edward Snowden leaked classified documents that revealed the extent of the National Security Agency's surveillance of US citizens' phone and internet communications. The government had previously denied such surveillance.

Tuskegee Experiment: The US government conducted a 40-year experiment on African American men with syphilis from 1932 to 1972. The men were never told that they had syphilis or given proper treatment, even after a cure became available. The government initially denied any wrongdoing and continued the experiment even after it was exposed.

Finally, remember when Eisenhower told us in his departure speech,

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

Oops. So there WAS one politician that actually told the truth.

Joel, you deserve a Pulitzer for best sarcasm. This was my favorite piece amongst many. This should be required reading for every politician at every level of government (and then they should be made to take and pass a test to prove they read it) before they are allowed to take office.

I'll add a couple more to your list because everyone here has been great, but I haven't seen these:

Remember when Obamacare was going to save everyone $2,500.00 a year for healthcare?

. . . But, health insurance just got more and more expensive.

Remember when we were promised "If you like your Doctor you can keep your Doctor?

. . . Oops!

Remember the 3 promises of Obamacare:

1. You can keep your present health plan if you wish

2. You can keep your present doctor if you desire

3. You insurance premiums will decrease by $2500

But all three turned out to be BS for millions of Americans

Remember when use of chemical weapons in Syria was a "Red Line" for Obama, but he "blinked" when they were used.

And my "favorite":

During the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, remember that we promised all those local citizens who aided us that we would protect them and offer asylum to them no matter what, but then broke our promise and deserted them to death, torture and prison!

I agree that we are all blessed to read Joel ‘s words. Thanks for the effort of sharing your gifts, Joel.

The disturbing part of your pieces is not the lies and deception. It is how deeply they pry into our very psyches with what used to be called simply spin. Now, the untruths, as long as in sync with the ethos, are spouted/served up as catechism. Half the population seems to be truly taken by guilt in the face of their own sinful thought toward the woke. The lies will swell to the point that....

Happy Sunday all!
