Wow! For someone who lives in Ireland, Paris, and Argentina most of every year I don't know how you are even qualified to write what you write.

The Donald has tackled some huge problems for the U.S. - i.e. illegal immigration, fraud, etc.

The Donald also has a lot of faults which you so often like to call out.

Our whole political system sucks. The press sucks even more. We should mind our own business and just sit back and wait for the nuke(s) to land.

Won't be renewing my subscription.

Perhaps you should have pursued a political career in lieu of wine making.

Please let me know how to follow Tom Dyson without following you.

Thank God I am an old timer from MN and don't have many of these years of shit left.

Agent22Smith's avatar

He tackled fraud? Trump is the master of it…it’s the thing at which he excels, second only to self aggrandizement.

Bruce Wayne Yount's avatar

President Trump in my opinion has worked for the Average Working Tax Paying American Citizen, granted he and his family has made money while he has been serving as our President; however, one should place themselves in his shoes and consider what he has given up and sacrificed personally in his life to serve as our President of the United States. A great majority of today’s society are nothing but low IQ globalist’s indoctrinated ignorant gullible sheeple and the current direction of our country desired by these clowns will ultimately come back to haunt them! We True American Patriots have developed our own plans to prevail in this current time of turmoil and uncertainty following only God’s Law as opposed to those of the narcissistic sociopathic god complex mortal man and we will prevail!

John Austin's avatar

So, conspicuous corruption is OK, in POTUS and his family?

If corruption in USA's highest office is acceptable, then it must be acceptable to you at all lower levels, too?

Don't forget to say Baaa, Baaa, when you talk of other sheeple.

Bruce Wayne Yount's avatar

Obviously pissed your woke ass off, love it! Aussie says all one needs to know, do as your Aussie masters told you clowns to do and go take another globalist death injection and permanently disappear! Sad state of affairs for you sheeple clowns!

John Austin's avatar

Did you buy the Trump coin or the Trump golden phone? Or both?

That's not my fault, y'know. That's on you.

Interesting that you still appear to support corruption, if it is in the service of your earthly leader. I'll bet some Soviet citizens thought the same way.

While you are standing guard, watching the Left flank; don't forget to look to the Right, too. You can lose your Republic from that direction as well.

I understand. Mr. Bonner once had and long operated under the premise you advise (political fecklessness). He changed after the Hamas-Jewish disaster of October 2023. Something snapped. He went over the edge and never came back. Still, he is capable of valid observation, as today's essay attests. Best always. PM

"Please let me know how to follow Tom Dyson without following you."

Gary, do you ever stop and "wonder" why and how someone as smart as Tom Dyson would ever work for and with someone as "unqualified to write what you write" as Bill Bonner.

I think that both Tom and Dan pretty much walk stride by stride along with how

Bill Bonner sees this big blue ball.

jack Nilsen's avatar

My sentiments exactly. I can always consult Chat if I need French lessons.

Tom Langdon's avatar

Oh my God spot, spot on, my sentiments exactly right down to being a short timer.

Bruce Wayne Yount's avatar

God Bless Sir, our country is saturated with narcissistic sociopathic fools and low IQ globalist’s indoctrinated ignorant gullible sheeple!

Mary Gartrell's avatar

I have seen some stats from past presidencies. Trump is down 25 in the House? But Obama and Clinton both lost more in their midterms.

Paul Murray's avatar

And did any of those circumstances/results bring about any real change or merely continue a downward spiral? Best always. PM

STEVE SHIRLEY's avatar

Good point. The downward spiral seems to be a trajectory that neither party can steer us away from.

Paul Murray's avatar

If I am correct, then logic would dictate we need to do something else. Normalcy bias on the part of the citizenry/electorate is a retardant to that necessity. Of course, those who want to see the destruction of the country are beneficiaries of our paralysis. Best always. PM

John Brodbeck's avatar

A blatantly accurate description of a failed presidency!

Betti Burke's avatar

Yes, so Donald Trumps party got smashed. Big deal, I hope he vetos anything that comes out of congress. If you look at who won : if they had an iq of 90 I’d say sell. They are arrogant, self righteous people who have no clue. We are falling into the us and them and the citizen working hard every day get screwed, what’s really new?

James ( Jim) Marshall's avatar

A real clown show is ahead of us.

Jim

Paul Murray's avatar

In my view, the clown show started with Clinton. We are past clowning. We are now in a fight for survival, though few of us can (or want to) see that, and we keep doing the same thing, which is another fatal bias: normalcy bias. We cannot bring ourselves to step out of a system which once worked but now no longer does. Best always. PM

James ( Jim) Marshall's avatar

Paul, you are correct. The very sad part of the election is, people between 18 and 45 voted to the LEFT according to several poles. It will take several years, if ever, for them to wake up...maybe.

Jim

Paul Murray's avatar

I fight that fight everyday. 5 kids, born from 1980-87. 3 (the girls) are social democrats, and 2 (the boys) are strong conservatives. (notice the 60-40 split?) Same Mom and same Dad in all cases. Same values in the home, attended the same schools. Got the same lessons in church. It's never coming back. We had a 50-50 deal for the last 25 years. It finally broke 60-40. Trends in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by a greater outside force. As Dennis Prager famously says, "I prefer clarity to agreement." Which means, comfort is NOT a part of it. Best always. PM

Tom Langdon's avatar

Oh they will wake but they will be dazed and confused thinking of themselves as victims and looking for a scapegoat(s).

Today's message is an exposition on a major cause of failure: attribution bias. "I am where I am not by luck or circumstance, but because of my personal excellence. Therefore, I am infallible and untouchable."

What many people fail to understand is that Mr. Trump is a great salesman and promoter, which is wonderful so far as it goes. He is a lousy manager. His attribution bias tells him he can do it all. He can't and doesn't.

There are 2 types of CEO: a turnaround CEO, and a maintainer CEO. The skillsets required are often vastly different. It is possible that an individual has the remarkable constitution and mentality to be both, but it is rare. Mr. Trump is the classic turnaround CEO. He sees what's wrong, articulates a vision, and tries to organize and gather resources to accomplish the goal. Generally, he lacks the abilities and temperament for the day-to-day functioning of the enterprise. Sometimes, a CEO recognizes this dichotomy and has a COO in charge of the mundane and non-exciting necessities of daily business.

We, those citizens (not squatters, not those here illegally, not guests, not guest workers) who give permission to certain of us for governing, recognized the need for change. We "bought" Mr. Trump's pitch, but in not understanding the fundamentals in play with regard to personality, character, and difference in CEOs, expected great things from Mr. Trump's articulations, and we suffered when we found out the reality of it all: seldom does the CEO possess both required talents.

Unless and until we recognize and understand our situation, we will make the same mistakes over and over. It doesn't help that the country, once split 50-50, in its own vision of how the country should be, is now split 60-40, with the 40% in an ever-more precarious position of not merely being left behind, but disappearing altogether. Best always. PM

Good and informative comments but to be sure the human condition will assure that we will not learn from history, for as it rhymes we don't recognize its meaning.

John P Gallien's avatar

LOL, Bongo Bill. You seem to be having a continuous orgasm over the mid-terms. Trumps big mistake (other than his ridiculous statements about how wonderful he is, which, by the way, are harmless) is getting into the Iran war and NOT finishing it before the mid-terms (causing the higher gas prices) or not waiting to do it until after the mid-terms. The rest of your diatribe is just TDS. Gary K made the essential point which could be expanded on quite a bit, but I won't waste my time as it will fall mostly on "deaf ears". I will add one point - that I have never underestimated the ignorance of the American public. The fact that so many of them vote for the Socialist/Progressive/Fascist/Communist/Enviro-Nazi Democrats is a result of their poor education which has been controlled by the government and the Progressives for many decades. This is the result.

I won't be around long enough to watch these people live in the Socialist pigsty they are creating, but I hope you live many decades more, Bill, so you can experience it. Maybe then you will realize attacking Trump for his faults and not acknowledging his achievements (deregulation, energy production from reliable energy sources - fossil fuels, nuclear power - elimination of fraud, not allowing anyone to pour across our borders, to name a few) was a mistake. You have aligned yourself with the leftist media and cannot be considered a serious thinker when you just spout your TDS bias and refuse to look at the whole picture.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

Well John, from what I read of what Bill had written , He that is Bill did recognize Trumps accomplishments . Just that He did not name them for all to see. Now aside from that I feel sorry for all of North America as the socialist view is front and center.

John P Gallien's avatar

Well, Don, with all due respect, I have read Bill for several years now and have not once seen him mention any of Trump's accomplishments as I have noted above. It is possible that he has done so in passing, but I doubt it. He has never given any of the points (even just the few I mentioned above) any analysis whatsoever.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

John , Bill did say That Mr. Trump did have some exceptional attributes in His carrier. And You may be correct on Your prose of this morning, as I do not look for "faults" , if I can call Bill's writing faults. I look for the message . That may just be Me . But I certainly like all points of view as this also gives Me food for thought. Thanks for the reply.

John P Gallien's avatar

Justing saying I've never read one complimentary comment Bill has ever written about Trump. I look for the message also and I expect Bill to mention all the significant things that matter, not just the things his TDS addled brain wants to emphasize. It is possible somewhere is some far-off column he's written in a distant galaxy, Bonner has written something good about Trump. If so, it so rare, I don't recall it, and believe me, if Bongo had ever said anything nice about Trump more than a brief passing comment only to be used to trash Trump some more, I would remember it.

Mackinac's avatar

Here we go again, Bill. So now are you smart enough to tell us what is really right or wrong? You must be special. Kelley must be special too. Note his claim was that 'Trump was the dumbest goddamn student he ever had.' Why? What made him so dumb? How about some evidence rather than opinion? Kelley hated him as evidenced by his 'dumbest goddamn' emphasis. Especially pertinent when these 'prestigious professors' give their elite opinions. Plenty of geniuses didn't finish university. That's exactly what Americans hate about these professors. They are brainwashing our kids about political beliefs. When I went to university I never once got a political opinion from a professor that I ended up valuing and I walked out of university with 13 Fortune 500 job offers. The one professor who did hand out this nonsense was a sociology professor who was the dumbest mo fo of my university career and also the most worthless professor, in my opinion. So we all have opinions. But the reality is opinions are for yourself and your friends to draw conclusions on. Or discuss in a forum such as this. Trump may be super dumb according some professor but he's smart enough to realize men don't belong in women's sports. He was smart enough to realize eventually that vaccines weren't doing a goddamn thing except killing people through sudden deaths, despite Fauci's claims of safe and effective i.e. a guy who has been caught lying and voering up his whole vaccine corruption. Trump is smart enough to realize having China manufacture all of America's needs is stupid from a security perspective of a nation competing against us that has a communist authoritarian leader who advocates using China's body parts to replace organs. Trump is smart enough to realize that getting into universities should be dictated by merit rather than color of one's skin. He may be dumb enough to get scammed by Netanyahu and Kushner about supporting an old ally but he is smart enough to aggravate all the liberals of the world to the point they try to kill him and put him in jail because their arguments aren't convincing enough to stop his election. And he is smart enough to get elected to the presidency of the United States despite all the globalists and their media.

John P Gallien's avatar

Mostly agree, Mac, and I have added several more in my comment elsewhere on this page. The fact is, for the most part, Trump understands some fundamental facts of reality (with the emphasis on "fundamental') that the leftist Democrat mob doesn't - that human beings must be productive in order to sustain their lives and be successful (services and products are not free); and that access, production and the use of energy is the foundation of existence of all living entities. Hence, he deregulates the economy, encourages energy production of reliable energy sources, rejects the voodoo science of climate change alarmism, brings investments into this country so we can manufacture essential products and therefore be independent of the socialist authoritarian/totalitarian pigs elsewhere, etc. Does he do some things I disagree with? Sure, and I wish he didn't. But unlike Bongo Bill, I can put it all in context.

Mackinac's avatar

Totally correct and key.

Bob O'Brien's avatar

Bill, I knew before I read it your dismissive comments on the Trump Admn would be appalling. You didn’t disappoint as todays rant clearly shows. You start with a completely hate filled statement by some liberal idiot and follow it up with your TDS semi truths and outright nonsense.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

Just maybe that is what He , Bill, does to get Your reactions. Then He is a successful writer.

Agent22Smith's avatar

And perhaps Mr Bonner’s comments are on point…

Bob O'Brien's avatar

And perhaps there not.

Jimmyknows's avatar

Well that didn't take long for you to pile on President Trump, did it Billy Boy? I just now realized you're such a man of high character, or is that no character; I get the two confused sometimes...

James ( Jim) Marshall's avatar

Sadly Bill, your writings today are a good summary of reality. I voted for Trump and although there is a long list of good accomplishments, he just couldn't stop himself from "always being the center of attention". Nothing has changed from his days in the business world.

The people's intertest will always be in eating, paying their bills, and having gas in their cars. When they can't have those things, they revolt! I think it will be at least six years before the GOP can get back in power....MAYBE!

I've grown weary of Donald Trump and he certainly is in large part to blame for what happened in the elections. I wonder if we were duped by someone who used to be a liberal democrat. Did he seek to destroy the Republican Party?

However, like many of your readers I've become weary of you also Mr. Bonner. That "supposed" quote that you started with today shows a continuous decrease in your journalistic standards. I'm sure you could care less but I rarely even scan your articles anymore. Dan Denning is the only reason I still subscribe. Even Tom's Wednesday updates are becoming less and less useful.

I don't expect you to understand this Mr. Bonner but there is a huge worldview divide between the true conservative and the secular liberal. The easy path which some are willing to take is to compromise and become increasingly secular. I thank God for those who don't, even when it contributes to lost elections.

"in the most dramatic mid-term turnaround in US history..." . Clinton in 1994 and Obama in 2010 would like to have a word....

Mackinac's avatar

WE all have our opinions. To find someone who is going to lead the world or the US and has the same opinions as each of us is impossible. There is simply too many choices and given human nature,.... Trump has stayed in NATO which in my opinion is his biggest mistake. He should have never supported the Ukraine war and should have walked out on the globalists on his first day. Their only objective is to retain their power and a globalist approach means every single individual has no freedom and as Mao said power comes from the barrel of a gun. Its a great strategy if you think you are smarter than every individual and you think you should be the leader. But it sucks for everyone who has a different idea as to what is right for him.

The pendulum always swings. The stories placed on the reasons are - as usual - more projective test and wishful fantasies than “reality”. Personally, I’m looking forward to some blessed gridlock.

Ronald's avatar

I agree. From an agrarian families stories and perspective...our government functions best when there is not one party (or philosophy) controlling all the branches. When they have to 'work' with the other party to pass legislation, we usually get better laws. Or they get vetoed and have to go back and compromise. Or die in disagreement. Gridlock is good!

Xavier Narutowicz's avatar

I notice it is November 5, the days fly by.

I voted Democratic.

Bill sounds vindicated and vindictive. Trump has proven to be the dumbest president ever. It is hard to believe how he wasted an opportunity.

 We all lost.

The country has reached rock bottom, an AA moment. God help us!

You would hope there was manna from heaven.

People were optimistic in 1900, the good old days, then in 50 years, 100 million died, they dropped two nuclear bombs. American Exceptionalism ran the world; the leaders eschewed manna and drank cool aid.

The Original Chronic Optimist's avatar

A handy summary of Trump's failing from Bill. But one should also detail the good things he has done around social policy and even tariffs - which are almost certainly here to stay as they have strengthened American manufacturing - one might note that Biden failed to undo them last time. And then there is the very conservative Supreme Court, that is to Trumps credit alone. And there is much more. Veto Veto Veto will be his greatest achievement in the second half of the term. Lets hope and pray he sticks to it - imagine a world where social security cannot be paid due to shutdown. Only a president with the rare attributes so adequately detailed by Bill in this article could go the distance and see that through. There could be more and better to come.
