The Weekend Round-Up
The Bonners Battle Covid, Looking Out For The Everything Crash" and A Special Note from Dusty Dyson...
Joel Bowman, checking in today from Villa la Angostura, Argentina...
A bit of a mixed bag for you this weekend, Dear Reader. Your Editor at Large is enjoying the summer days here in the pristine Andes Mountains with wifey and daughter. We’re lakeside in a modest log cabin, the size of which would make Henry David Thoreau feel claustrophobic.
As for the rest of the Bonner Private Research team...
Not even an epic battle with the dreaded Omicron could keep Bill from his trusty laptop. Like fearless soldiers on the frontlines, his daily missives showed up on time... every day... without fail. And armed with the kind of insights you’ve come to expect, no less. You’ll find them all neatly archived below for your convenience.
Meanwhile, both Tom Dyson and Dan Denning are knee-deep in financial research, sifting through earnings reports, SEC filings and mountains of economic data to identify the very best investment opportunities for our BPR paid subscribers.
Tom reminds that his first monthly report will reach readers’ inboxes on January 26. If you haven’t done so already, now’s probably a good time to ensure you’re on that list...
Meanwhile, young Dusty Dyson found time to pen a thoughtful missive from the road. Here he is...
Greetings from Mamaroneck, NY...
Over the last 4 weeks, my family and I have driven 5,500 miles around the USA using only backroads and county roads and never going faster than 55mph. We started in Idaho, spent Christmas in Florida and then drove up the East Coast to NY.
One observation: the worst roads in the country are, by far, in New York. You can lose a wheel in some of the potholes. We almost did.
Here we are crossing the Delaware Bay on the Cape May ferry, on Route 9 between New Jersey and Delaware. (The crossing took 90 minutes.)
I'm writing to you now from Grandpa's one-bedroom apartment in Mamaroneck, NY.
Grandpa has cancer. He's been having radiation therapy... which means he's been going to the hospital every day and getting blasted by radiation. He's gone there 38 days in a row. Yesterday the doctors told him he could stop coming. We celebrated with a bottle of champagne last night. He's tired... but mainly just happy it's all over.
When you next hear from us, we'll be in London...
Dusty
P.S. It snowed yesterday in NY... about 5". This is the first snow we've seen since Wyoming a month ago. Here are the kids brushing the snow off Grandpa's car...
And now, an archive of Bill Bonner’s daily missives, from the week past...
The Bonners vs. Covid-19
Bill and the Family Wage War with The Virus...
It struck unevenly. Haphazardly. One was hors du combat. Another barely felt anything at all. Almost all were tested. Those who had already had the disease tested negative. The others, mostly, tested positive.
Double Their Money
What Happens When The Feds Really Crank Up the Printing Presses
Last week, we looked backwards at the Year That Wasn’t. That is, we read the stories the press didn’t write… and asked the questions the media declined to pose. Those unasked questions would have called into question the elite agenda, much as if St. Agnes had wondered whether chastity was such a good thing. This week, we look ahead… at the New Year… and what it is likely to bring.
War in Pieces
How not to fight terror, global warming, racism, the Covid, poverty, drugs...
One of the curiosities of life in America, in the 21st century, is that no matter how many wars are lost… no matter how much money is wasted on them… or how many lives are ruined by them…people still want more. Or, at least, the deciders do.
No WIN Buttons
The Feds Fumble, Stocks Stumble... and Inflation Rumbles
You are always prepared for what you expect – at least, more or less. But few people today expect the Fed to actually follow through. If they thought differently, stocks would be falling hard… and the yield on the 10-year note would be closer to 5% than 1.7%. But what if the Fed surprises us all? What if Fed chairman Powell suddenly channeled his inner Volcker… and actually got serious about stifling inflation? Let’s try to imagine it.
The Everything Crash
Vanishing Liquidity, Falling Prices and Bear Market Blues...
This week, we’ve been trying to peek into the future. We take it for granted that we will be surprised. After all, if the future were like the past, what would be the point of having it? We’ve already lived it. So, what will be the Big Frightening Headlines of the months ahead? How about a stock market crash? Followed by another multi-trillion-dollar rescue program?
And finally... The Bonner Private Research Podcast - Bill Bonner on Federal Mandates, Climate Gabfests and 2,000 Years of Public Follies...
As the year was drawing to a close, we “sat down” with Bill Bonner for a wide-ranging conversation regarding the state of the American Empire. (By “sat down” we mean “conducted a transcontinental call over the Internets...”)
On the table for discussion was the recent climate confab in Glasgow, the perennial mission creep of the do-gooder Feds and Modern Man’s unerring commitment to making a mess of things. Please enjoy our chat, here...
We’ll have more of these podcasts - featuring conversations with the Bonner Private Research team as well as some of Bill’s closest advisers - for you when we return to our home in Buenos Aires later next week.
Until then, we’re off to hike some back trails... or maybe just lounge by one of the glacier-fed lakes that line the Argentine/Chilean border.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, enjoy your weekend.
Cheers,
Joel Bowman

On the other hand the FED might come out with some WIN* buttons after all.

When will Bill inform his former Rogue clients about how their balance with Rogue will be forwarded to the new publisher? Every email from Bill, Tom and Dan in the last month just has a link to subscribe with the new publisher with no mention of carrying the existing balance to the new publisher. Please provide some information and clear this up. Even the Rogue customer service personnel can't answer my question.
