Hey, Bill. How about no more comments or connecting the dots on Trump. We all know the empire is declining, the dollar is losing its reserve currency status, inflation is up and being masked, and the economy is in the tank and heading down. Please, how about you tell us how to profit from this. We don't need any more political commentary.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

... IMO the "empire" is not declining, especially when compared to other "empires".

-

Don't believe me, do some research...

Of course, today we must pay particular attention from the information source.

As everything has gone political with bias.

Mr. Bonner would be helpful in pointing out some of the positive POV's to counter his anti-American tone.

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Icebergs, have you done any comparisons with the fall of the Roman Empire? Looks like there are several things we have in common: debasing the currency, overextended military, decline of moral.values, use of slave labor - they used actual slaves, while our elites preferred using cheap labor from other countries, bread and circuses.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

...there are ominous correlations to be sure.

Rome had many problems.

Historians do not agree on any specific singular cause for its demise.

-

But this does not mean the U.S. will and must follow.

Although eventually some sort of end or manifestation is inevitable.

Nothing today spells imminent.

-

Seems to me the U.S. is currently raising the bar...

all but for some anti-American sentiments, as sampled here on BPR.

-

Please identify the country that is not currently facing some sort of economic crisis.

-

Please name one country that is currently better economically than the U.S.

Sure there are some with a higher GDP per capita...

But these countries depend upon... the U.S.!

-

That in which you lament "elites using cheap labor"...

IMO more like "folks prefer easy money"... aka China's cheap goods.

Not just the elites... the majority of all consumers wealthy and poor!

-

Trump is trying to reshore, decrease dependency upon China.

Those on the left are trying all hell to prevent DJT from doing so.

Why?

I wonder did Rome also have Democrats?

Cartero Atómico's avatar

When the Roman Republic was on the decline they had opposing forces who became more concerned with their group than their country. Now we have the members of Blue and Red more concerned about their teams than the country.

But which countries actually depend upon the US? What do we have to offer? At least the Romans developed infrastructure in their empire, we left Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan in ruins.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

The red and blue conflict is fueled by media hype and liberal ignorance.

Progressives opt for more taxation and more bureaucracy.

They are a disaster here in California.

How many voters will continue to support losers?

-

...ask NATO which countries depend upon the U.S.

Ask Canada who is their largest trading partner.

Talk to South Korea and Japan to see who depends upon U.S. economy and military...

-

What do we have to offer?

Liberties unattainable in most countries, that's why there's a line to get in the U.S.

-

Particularly Islamic countries are not compatible to occidental values.

Many shun, deter or forbid the same values Americans enjoy.

For this reason, arguably Afghanistan and Libya have been in ruin for centuries...

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Libya had the highest standard of living in Africa before the US decided to bring democracy to them. Now they're a haven for terrorists but you can buy slaves there now. Thanks, Obomber!

Jimm Roberts's avatar

Bill isn't anti-American.

But he's certainly not keen on the Federal deficit

And he laments the diminishment of the USD as the world's reserve currency and bemoans eloquently our current president's imperial demeanor.

DJT's penchant for force first and, contrary to his campaign promise, his absolute refusal to release the Epstein files makes him come across as Ready-Fire-Aim .

More: It doesn't take a genius to conclude that these files contain revelations about DJT's deportment that would make using subterfuge to hide consorting with prostitutes mild breaches of his marriage vow (all of them)

Angry Icebergs's avatar

As a betting man I would wager that Trump has engaged in some hanky-panky.

As a businessman I could care less...

My only expectation from any leader is to improve the country's outlook.

Not sure of the outcome but I am optimistic.

Abe Porter's avatar

If you check history the world reserve currency usually lasts 100 years. A new currency has come into existence. After doing some homework, what it appears ther world will have a new currency created by the IMF composed of several countries. Time will tell.

First one of these I have read in awhile. The bias and single-mindedness on the part of Mr. Bonner is bordering on the fanatic. America, with the exception of big tech and other giant corporations has been in decline my entire life. Often because of big government interference and bad policies. I believe Trump is trying to reverse that, even though it may be too late. But we are not getting small gov; it is too late for that now and we all know it. The Democrats won't even let us stop the fraud, let alone any other big gov program. For better or worse, Trump has to use the power of government to address our problems. Yes, execution is key. But Laissez-faire ain't gonna work at this point.

America has enemies. Why does Mr. Bonner never talk about that? The radical marxist left? Radical fundamentalist Islam? The globalist elite, with their climate mandates, open borders insanity, censorship, debanking and deplatforming of conservative voices, political violence, lawfare...ect. Nary a mention...maybe a casual one sentence reference on occasion for propriety sake. I can't speak for past missives, but the absence of balance and omission of countervailing facts in these current notes is glaring.

Considering how terrible Trump is maybe we should reimplement men in women's locker rooms, men in women's sports, racism in university admittance, call back all the illegal immigrants, all the thousands of vaccines for everyone, cutting of children's body parts and replace with plastic and drugs to desexualize them without parents knowledge. Maybe we should destroy more of California's distillation plants so we insure we have insufficient power and therefore no climate change to insure we don't exceed 1.5 degrees increase in global temperature because we all suspect this just might work (just ask Al Gore), or maybe we should send Bill Gates on more Africa missions to insure they have no more babies, and of course we should resupply all the Epstein "friends" with their services so that we keep them satisfied and honest.

I am so pissed off. This will be my last subscription to BB. It will NOT be renewed. In more than 50 years not one administration has been able to control the terrorist attacks by Iran. President Trump has now in the process of taking it out. The time will come soon that the Middle East will again be a peaceful and wonderful part of the world. We will be able to travel there when these bad people are eradicated. BB fails to mention that. He just wants to constantly criticize Trump. BB doesn’t really need the subscription money but I need my sanity.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

C'mon Abe, everyone can't think the same... this comment section would be boring if everyone agreed.

Tom Langdon's avatar

Abe, stay steadfast and look forward. Don't unsubscribe as your comments are cogent as well as entertaining. Do not deprive yourself of this fine field of daily entertainment.

Harold Shaeffer's avatar

"President Trump has now in the process of taking it out." Abe, from what I'm reading, you'd better hope the next 50 days are not a repeat of these 1st 5 days. 10 times the damage that has already been inflicted on the entire region? Or am I mistaken, is it Israel and the USA blowing up all the surrounding gulf?

working stiff's avatar

Mr. Porter, I hope you will continue to subscribe. I enjoy reading your comments. I think Bill has always been a hardcore leftist, and now that he's filthy rich, he's showing his true colors. Possibly he's a bored billionaire who no longer gets joy from fixing up his properties, so now he gets a kick out of writing nonsense just to stir up his readers. I really wish the later is the case, but I'm starting to wonder.

I have long hoped the hapless people of Iran are freed from the religious tyranny under which they live.

Frankly, had the US not deposed their elected leader in the 1950's, our strained relationship with that ancient land would not be as confrontational as it is now

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Do you also pray for the hapless people of our ally Bahrein? Bahrein has more political prisoners per capita than Iran. Anti-government protests there in 2011 were put down by a brutal military intervention by our ally Saudi Arabia.

Jimm Roberts's avatar

All people everywhere who are being brutally subjugated by their overlords should be able to live their lives in tranquil freedom.

Wish the UN rather than the US was the world policeman

More: There will be no regime change in Iran without "boots on the ground."

Had trump let the Israelis proceed without our participation, the now widespread war; stranded tourists, innocent civilians and damage through the Gulf would not be occurring.

And we're running out of ammo.

Tom DeArmond's avatar

I hear there are really great and beautiful deals on tours of the Holy Land right now.

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Abe, do you really believe that Trump is taking out the terrorists. Just a few weeks ago he was making goo-goo eyes at the new Syrian president Al-Jolani. Last year the State Department had a $10 million price tag on his head for his job as an Al-Queda headchopper. We've always used terrorism to achieve our goals -e.g. Operation Cyclone and the original Al-Queda team organized to draw the Russians into a debilitating war in Afghanistan. Or you can check out Operation Northwoods or Gladio in Europe to stem the rise of communist political parties.

Patrick H Neff's avatar

Abe, Is that short for Abraham,? Don't let the door hit U in the ass! Good riddance!

"....even the most prestigious law firms in the country know that they are not immune to the president’s wrath. They must now be looking for ways to curb presidential power."

Curb presidential power? They can't curb it, nor should they be able to do so; I think BB meant 'dodge' or 'avoid'.

Only SCOTUS or Congress should be able to curb presidential power.

I wish Congress would look at SCOTUS example, wake up and do their elected job.

I don't recall Bill taking president poopy pants to task very much, maybe he felt sorry for him as they had that much in common.

Tom Langdon's avatar

We all have failings, and as part of the "human condition", criticism comes easily. Finding the positive, well now that is bit more difficult and requires both wisdom and humility both of which must be earned.

An Ol' LSO's avatar

So since Trump has neither wisdom nor humility - what do you do with him?

Tom Langdon's avatar

Well, maybe we should consult Jasmine Crockett who is one of the new faces of democratic leadership.

Tom Langdon's avatar

The "unsubscribe" button is right below the "comment" button.

Frank Westmoreland's avatar

Mr. Buescher, I think Bill has moved strongly left, and it's not TDS because I believe he would be angry with and belligerent towards any GOP POTUS (e.g., Pres. Vance; Pres. Rubio; Pres. DeSantis) who opposes; e.g., authoritarianism, open borders, third-world cheap labor, free and unfair trade, etc. He strongly supports people who virtue-signal about the debt, like shameless grandstanders Sen. Paul & Rep. Massie, for example, all of them knowing that any radical cuts in the debt would almost certainly mean the destruction of the GOP at the polls because of the depression it would cause, bringing to absolute power very radical-left Democrats, who would immediately reverse those cuts, and add even more debt, in addition to opening the border; providing amnesty for 20M third-world peasants, 98% who would vote for the Democrats; reinstalling massive regulations on U.S. business; sucking up to the ChiComs; enacting very stringent gun controls; pushing wacky environmental craziness; forcing women to accept men in their bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, etc.

And he bothers me about his anger over who gets killed in these international conflicts. For example, he used the term "mass slaughter" today when describing the U.S. and Israeli bombing in Iran. Is he upset that the folks in Iran who appear to be bombing victims are those who have murdered, tortured, and imprisoned tens of thousands of innocents? I have seen no reports of mass slaughter of Iranians who want to be free, especially millions of Iranian women. So when he uses inflammatory terms such as "mass slaughter," it would be wise for him to explore such terms in more depth.

And finally he bothers me about his hypocritical criticisms of older Americans who accept SS and Medicare, while he rarely criticizes those younger Americans who receive Medicaid and other types of welfare that also add significantly to the budget deficit. Like most leftists, he doesn't explore this matter in some detail. For example, Americans receiving SS and Medicare have paid into the system. Yes, they are subsidized by younger Americans, but tens of millions of these oldsters help subsidize younger Americans with money, housing, food; and, indirectly, employment, well before they die. And when they die, their offspring inherits their money and housing for the most part. Money moves through an economic system. Unfortunately, IOUs move along with real money through an economic system, pushing up inflation. But JUST blaming the oldsters, who tend to vote GOP, is irresponsible, but typical of leftists.

dump is fiddling (with all the wrong knobs) while US burns away it wealth, influence, leadership.

Dave J's avatar

The President is privy to information to which neither Bonner nor the moronic media has access. It's not that he's playing chess or checkers or any other game they use to mock him, he simply has all the dots that are available via the best intelligence apparatus (which includes Israel's) on the planet. We're all of four days into this operation, maybe Bonner and the rest of the critics should wait to see how the movie ends before they conclude that it sucks.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

The movie will not end in My view . There will be a break and all will repeat again at some future date. This is a world of evil and evil can not be overcome with evil , but only by "good".

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Dave, don't you believe Marco Rubio's explanation for this war. He said that the Trump team knew that Iran was going to be attacked by Israel and to prevent more casualties to US forces they had to join in the attack. Hey, but look at these drapes I picked out myself and we're going to have a beautiful ballroom.

Dave J's avatar

You'd have to send me that "explanation" because during the news conference I saw Rubio didn't say anything remotely close to that.

Cartero Atómico's avatar

This is from Elon's Grok, not exactly an anti-Trump source: "We knew that there was going to be an Israeli action. We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn’t preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties".

Dave J's avatar

Giving you the benefit of the doubt that these Rubio statements are accurate, it doesn't refute the other things he said (if I wanted to spend the time I could find and send them). Which in essence was that Iran had ramped up production of a number of short to mid range missiles and they were quickly reaching the point of being able to hold the region hostage due to that and the fact that they had enough uranium to make 11 nuclear weapons.

I don't know, I'd rather see a preemptive strike that decapitates a crazy bunch of religious fanatics than wait around until they make good on their promises to destroy us and others. But that's just me.

Cartero Atómico's avatar

Here's a link. Rubio says it right in the beginning of the program. Remember back in 2016 when Trump said Little Marco was a light weight. He was right!

Weston Parker's avatar

At 38 trillion in debt and zero plan to even talk about it, we can't afford a war but dump can't afford to allow the Epstein issue to remain in the current news cycle.

Dave J's avatar

I think the whole Epstein matter has been debunked with respect to Trump, except for those desperate to find fault with him or deflect from the people that actually committed ephebophilic acts (lookin' at you Bubba Clinton).

You have a point with respect to the debt, but everybody knows a "plan to even talk about it" isn't necessary. Events are going to force Trump (or his successor), Congress and the entire country to have to cut the size of government dramatically. (Kind of like what Trump tried to do when he entered office last year.)

Interest rates are going to rise because people aren't going to buy/refinance the debt at current rates. They could print the money, but Weimar Republic levels of inflation will be the death of all politicians regardless of their party. Raising taxes will also get politicians canceled and the cost of government is now so high they'd have to raise taxes across the board as well as lowering the brackets down to levels such that people that think like you (especially the 47% that don't pay any federal income tax) will be paying a lot more. And it still won't be enough to balance the budget.

Nope, it's going to be a lot of sacred cows getting reduced or eliminated. And people that understand anything about economics well know that those people in black robes that keep obstructing the reduction of government might do well to put their activist, ideological thinking in their pockets lest they end up hanging from tall trees (figuratively of course).

Stephen Wolf's avatar

If Trump had any baggage with Epstein we would have heard it all during last election with titillating glee from the Dimocrats. Story is over.

Weston Parker's avatar

I think you and I disagree on this Epstein matter. Millions of pages are withheld by a DOJ that is compelled by law to release them. This is not a matter that has been debunked but avoided. If we can’t come to some basic agreement on something as simple as this, we probably can’t move forward on the more complex issues.

Dave J's avatar

Agreeing to disagree is a rational, mature position. What doesn't make sense to me is the Biden Administration had four years to "deliver dirt" on Trump and given their utter disregard for decorum and norms they would have found a way to get the dirt leaked (i.e. Trump's tax returns). The other thing that undermines this constant drum beat about Trump and Epstein is that there wasn't a single victim that came forward about Trump. And I'm sure there were reporters and media types turning over rocks looking for one.

Weston Parker's avatar

I am certain there was a lot of foot dragging during the Biden years on the Epstein issue as so many of that crowd were likely involved as well. So, we both agree that during the Biden years very little progress was made on this Epstein issue. Is it an issue at all? It was made a huge issue from the conservative point of view, saying that many libs were in the files etc. Can we agree that there are millions of unreleased files? I want them revealed so I can judge for myself. Withholding them, from both sides of aisle, the GOP and DEMS, is a big red flag. In my opinion, both sides are utterly corrupt and they are all pigs at the trough of this collapsing empire and stealing whatever they can while they can.

So if mass murder is the subject, how about the four story Marine Barracks in Beirut Lebanon on October 23,1983 that was leveled at 6:22 a.m. by Hezbollah terrorists who were trained and supported by Iran. We lost 241 U.S. service personnel, many died in their sleep. If you had to listen to a neighbor describe his duties that day as a Marine tasked with the rescue and recovery efforts among the rubble then what we are witnessing today would make more sense. I am thankful that there are American patriots with a long memory not blinded by those who have given up on this great country. This is the greatest country on this small beautiful planet we call earth.
