Inflation is going at least 10%. My wife tells me every time she goes to the market that fewer items on the shelves, packages are getting smaller and smaller, which higher prices.

We always are told to read the numbers as if facts, thus truths.

Wait until it’s allowed to let AI and quantum computing get to finish the job.

Still despite’s ‘Black is black’, much is still being done by many at the individual level toiling away in farms, workshops and inventor desks etc, to not let wheels fall off the cart and try to manage chaos.

Not easy.

Not everyone a winner.

Human resources and resilience still amazes in the darkest of places, which rarely get full recognition in the word-smithing of doom & gloom.

Even countries can metamorphose.

Argentina sure is trying hard!

With Hedonics, the Keynesian Chef's at the BLS can make the inflation rate perfectly suit their masters taste. Those of us working in the private sector would go to prison if we used Hedonics to cook our books. Just another endless example of "do as I say, not as I do."

Bill, this was a beautiful and well deserved beatdown. Ideologues by definition don't employ their God given logic and deductive reasoning skills. Neocon's are a societal cancer and the single biggest destroyer of western civilization. You want to make America great again; eradicate all Neocons from America's public institutions. I didn't realize until recently that Neoconservatism has its roots in Marxism. This explains everything :-)

Expand full comment

But Craig, this is another linguistic trap. Remember they are attempting to control the language, controlling our thoughts by creating and controlling words and their meaning. “Neoconservatism” was a word specifically invented to discredit the word conservatism. If “neoconservatism” is bad, that same brush makes ‘conservative’ bad as well. This was the intent and it was at least partially successful. You are right to point out the Marxist underpinnings. Neoconservatives were not “new”conservatives. Perhaps they were Neocapitalists or NeoMarxists or some other moniker, or perhaps they were just the money worshiping Controligarchs of Washington DC.

I used to think that the current administration's marriage with the Neocons was odd. After learning of the Neocon's Marxist underpinnings the light when on for me. Birds of a feather, right :-)

The term "Neocon" has always confused me. I agree with Brien that it was intended to disparage conservatives. I interpreted it to mean New Conman.

Great point! These miscreants are morally bankrupt and not remotely conservative in the traditional sense. Here's an interesting article describing the historical origins of this societal plague : https://www.lewrockwell.com/2024/05/no_author/neoconservatism-a-secularized-globalist-vision-which-will-destroy-western-civilization/

Yes Bill, the entire world is living through the cost of our banana republic fake election fraud, and soon all the world will be in chaos and misery due to an incompetent and corrupt administration. Yes folks, elections have consequences as we are all witnessing, especially fake elections 🤔

Point well taken with today’s bold print words: Malaysia rebuffs US on Iran oil sales, says it recognises only UN sanctions.

Last night, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a.k.a. Lula, fired Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) CEO Jean Paul Prates.

That explains a lot ;)

To your point Sallie; PBR pays shareholders substantial dividend’s. The populist politician aims to help Brazil’s poor. Lula is looking for the company to increase (CapEx) capital expenditures and hiring.

The CEO’s fiduciary duty was to shareholders (which includes the Brazilian government), so the CEO wanted a strong dividend.

The Brazilian president and the CEO of Petrobras were at odds over the use of cash for dividend payments. Lula’s gov’t could not figure out how to use its share of PBR’s dividends to… to help Brazil’s poor?

Expand full comment

They couldn't figure out how to use PBR's dividends to help the poor, but you can take it to the bank that they figured out how to help themselves to the government's cash.

As in the old Kenny Rogers song lyrics of “The Gambler”

You've got to know when to hold 'em

Know when to fold 'em

Know when to walk away

And know when to run

You never count your money

When you're sittin' at the table

There'll be time enough for countin'

When the dealin's done

It's the "And know when to run" part that is the most important-LOL.

The Bone-headed Lying Stooges (BLS) can't tell the truth. Now they tell us that the CPI ex-food and energy is LOWER than the "normal" CPI. At the same time, Lying Lizzie Fauxcahontas Liawatha Warren tells us that there are excess profits being taken by retailers of food and energy (and everything else).

Who to believe? Well, I choose neither!

So, Biden and Trump both, after running the country for a spell and having lived in its disgust and filth, did not notice or were/are a proven part of the kleptocratic dysfunctioning federal governing body that was once the United States of America. Neither has acknowledged BB's clear historical report—his histographical synthesis. Neither has challenged his conclusions that they have failed their electorate and called his findings misinformed or unproven. Neither will run for reelection on a platform of money-saving initiatives that will fund Social Security and Medicare and reduce the deficit, half of which they created and are continuing to increase. They have both pledged to spend more money and divide the country even more. So, what will you do? Nothing changes if nothing changes. Don't forget to vote!
