It always amazes me that a private corporation (Federal Reserve, Inc.) is charged with the monetary policy and protocol of the federal government. Ponzi could not have done better if he tried twice as hard.

Do you really believe that Congress does or says anything the Federal Reserve pays any attention to? And the President doesn't appoint anybody to the Reserve. He signs off on whoever the Federal Reserve Board nominates for a turn at the wheelhouse. And "quasi private and quasi public" is like being a little bit pregnant.

Didn’t Janet say she thinks we can avoid a recession? I feel better now.

Greatly enjoyed Bill and Joel's conversation. I would very much enjoy listening to any conversations from the Bonner Private Research group. Best hour of the week for me. Thanks

Real Estate is not a goofy asset!

It is at prices up 80% in a year.

Real Estate will continue to increase due to it's intrinsic value ... it may be over priced in some areas; due diligence, but goofy it's not!

With real estate, it truly is about location, location, location. For example, our properties in very nice suburbs near LA only fell 15% during the 2007-08 meltdown. While in Vegas, we were trying to buy properties that had fallen 60 to 75%. (They made it really difficult for non-Nevada residents for the obvious reasons.)

Now we have Nevada properties too (we've also become Nevada residents) and if it hits the fan again the Las Vegas area won't get hit nearly as hard as it did 2007-11 because there are so many people migrating here from the Left Coast that demand for real estate is off the hook. They're bring their California money and hopefully not their California voting habits.

You're preaching to the choir (though I didn't have a lot of control over where I was born). I've had native-Nevadans tell me to my face that I should "go the f*** back" and "we need to build a wall on the Cal-Nevada border, etc. etc. LOL--I try to explain that I left there for many reasons and don't share "those values". They never seem very convinced. It's both mildly amusing--the Nevadans' skepticism, and very sad--what Marxism does to people and then to entire societies.
