There you go again, call him what you must to define your "feelings", in reality gasoline was under$2 a gallon, Inflation was 1.4%, border was the most secure it has ever been and NO WARS OR SMO's. Consequently, when you label that kind of production performed by a "grotesque nincompoop", you only need look in a mirror, because that is how you sound! Perhaps your getting to old for this and name calling has become your no filters norm?

I think Bill is spot-on. However, a "nincompoop" is too nice. He is an egotistic elitist with hubris runneth over. But, then again, on the other side you have a complete puppet. Never ever did anything worth a second look plus in the 4 years as the VP her party has lied, lied, and lied not to mention the complete failure at the southern border. If you ever watched the movie, "Brewer's Millions" then you would know the obvious - the choice is "None of the Above" but, unfortunately, we are going to get one of them. Instead of arguing between these two (2) defunct parties - you should give considerable thought to how to prepare for the ugly future ahead.

Bill:

I agree with your comments. One thing that I need to add. People don’t go into politics because they want to ‘help’ the country. They do it because they are mostly ‘niconpoops’and self interested. Most are dishonest. As far as the two running for office; one is an idiot that is the representative of a party that created a coup to get her in (not very Democratic). The other may not be a nice guy and is not a politician, but knows how business works. In his first term he relied on other people to make decisions; some were bad decisions. He will do much better this time. The best policy to have a prosperous country is hands off and let the citizens do their thing. Governments create problems, then spend billions trying to correct it. "How dumb does she think we are?"

Well, we will all soon find out.

One of the benefits of positive interest rates is they filter out plenty of businesses running on poor economics from existing, because there is no reason for a business to exist only because they never have to pay interest on their cost of capital. Zero interest rates help companies like Uber get started. When interest rates go up, and they can't continue to fund their capital accounts, the drivers working under their banner get the shaft.

Expand full comment
Brian Hurley's avatar

Despite benefitting from extremely low costs of capital since 2009, Uber just turned a profit in Feb. 2024, after spending many billions of inestor money..

Expand full comment
Kevin Beck's avatar

Uber Is benefiting from two sources of extremely low-cost capital: Funding of the business, and not having to recognize depreciation of its drivers' vehicles. This is allowing them to lead in a race to the bottom for the ride-hailing industry. The fact that they showed an accounting profit after 12+ years in operation shows that they are not a business someone who voluntarily chooses to enter (as an owner, not as a driver) where they are able to undercut their rivals on price because the company doesn't recognize the full costs of its business. They are able to split the fare with their drivers, yet they don't provide the drivers with a depreciation allowance for their vehicles.

So with those two advantages, I'm surprised it took this long for them to show a profit. But if the costs for capital would have been 6% when they started, the company would have been dead before they ever showed a profit.

I doubt Harris got any input into the speech she gave at the DNC, not one word. I can’t imagine what a speech that she had written, delivered without any editing, would have sounded like. Certainly nothing like the one she gave, probably directionally equivalent but with fits of incoherence. Of course nearly all Presidential speeches have been written by speech writers, but nearly all have been edited(occasionally heavily) by the candidates or Presidents giving them. But puppets are not handed editing pens.

SE: Why didn’t you watch her speech. Everyone is incompetent unless you seem to like them. Kamala education is better than old Donald’s. She has a degree in political science and economics.Attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in S.F

college Graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1989. One of Donald’s professors reported to have said,”Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had.” Donald never showed his transcripts when he was doubting Obama’s authenticity to run or that he was legally a citizen. Obama went to both Columbia University and to Harvard Law School.

Hi Dots -

Facts are pesky things. Is this the same Obama who:

1. Initially applied for college as a Foreign Exchange Student under the Fulbright Scholarship program?

2. Lived most of his life with the name Barry Soetoro and morphed into Barack Hussein Obama shortly after entering adulthood?

3. Has yet to produce a Certified Live Birth Certificate showing he is a US citizen? (He has submitted several fake versions - one that he gave the "Media" had a font style that was invented in 1987.)

4. For years utilized a Social Security number that actually belonged to a White guy from Connecticut - who died in 1912?

5. Is he the guy that "attended" Columbia and edited their Student Law Review? Except that NO ONE can recall having EVER taken a class with him - in the entire 4 years of the program. (Mr. Wayne Root was in BHO's same "class", yet never met him or even heard of him.)

6. Same fella that has yet to produce a transcript for a SINGLE class that he allegedly attended while "earning" those vaunted degrees? In fact, prior to the first campaign (2006-07) the dimocrats & DNC spent MILLIONS in legal fees to ensure any "record" of his "time" in college was sealed and unattainable - by anyone.

7. Is he the same dude who talked publicly NUMEROUS times about his "Muslim Faith" and called his wife Mike? (Check out the video of "Michelle" dancing on the Ellen show. WTF is that floppy thing in her pants?)

8. Are you prattling on about the same Obama that was well known to the homosexual Chicago nightlife and a gay bathhouse called "Man's Country" for years, prior to running for the IL State Senate in 1997? Why don't you ask Rahm Emmanuel - he was a paid member at the same bathhouse at the same time.

I could go on and on. The traitor Obama is a completely fabricated entity - designed, trained and unleashed to do as much damage to our Society, Culture and "government" as possible. And the gullible sheep ate his sh*t up because they were afraid people like you would call them racist if they questioned any of the glaring, in-your-face discrepancies. Poor little Dorothy, such a sucker. Pssst - his kids aren't his (though they bear a STRIKING RESEMBLANCE to long-time family friends and eventual campaign employees Dr. Anita Blanchard and her husband Marty Nebitt), and his "wife" is most likely a tranny.

If ANY of these statements are wrong, lies or fantasy - please reply with a REPUTABLE SOURCE that "refutes" these facts. Sorry, Snopes or Politifact don't count as they are paid subsidiaries of the DNC.

You can't, so you won't. You will ignore all of this verifiable information in typical indoctrinated lefty fashion because it puts paid to the lie of one of your most venerated "heroes." Barack the Magic Negro. His words, not mine.
