I would have written the second sentence "The ๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด machine is ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ to spend, not to save" - but you nailed it on both counts, Bill.

Here's why I believe that MAR25 is THE pivotal month in our History - if spending is approved at the current wasteful levels and the proven fraud & corruption is allowed to continue with no changes other than having a smaller number of employees, it will be rather obvious that Trump et al are blowing smoke up everyone's butt. Maybe a scattered few of our new Leaders are sincere, but we need them ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น pulling in the same direction at the same time - not paying lip service to what we want to hear. They KNOW what needs to be done because it is integral to the good game they have been talking up - will they actually follow through with the actions that make 70% of our Country cheer?

Further - if we don't begin to see ARRESTS and PERP WALKS of the voluminous low-hanging criminal fruit in our "government" by the end of this month (Ms. Bondi, you've had PLENTY of time to complete basic Investigations with mountains of Evidence dumped in your skirted lap), my worst fears will be disgustingly confirmed. They are ALL pissing on our legs and complaining about rain - whether they be wrapped in Old Glory or the Rainbow.

We would actually be worse off than if the Cackling Whore had been allowed to steal the Election because now we have so many Patriots buying into a line of crap and likely beyond Reclamation to the Truth in the little time left. IF this faรงade is Reality and comes to pass, there is only one way left to save our Country. Sadly, there aren't enough of us left with the stones to do it.

Based on what we are seeing, I'm not optimistic - but holding back the Anger so far...

Many good observations, SE. But I do believe that they (Trump administration and allies) are going through a process right now that may take a few more months to complete. So, I am not putting all my chips on what happens this month or on the immediate budget resolution. It will take some time. Now, come June-August timeframe and not much has been accomplished (assuming our progressively insane court system is not obstructing the Executive branch), then it will be time to panic. I don't think Trump and his excellent Cabinet will let that happen.....hopefully.

The only disagreement I have with your reasonable post would be that I believe it's NEVER time to "panic." Observe, Plan and Adjust Tactics - yes. Panic? Never...

John P Gallien's avatar

Well, okay. I mean "panic" in the sense that if Trump doesn't make huge progress towards solving the problem, we are in deep trouble. I was telling my golf buddies in 2020 that it might be good if Trump loses the upcoming election (I didn't like his stimulus payments, and otherwise didn't think he was doing enough, etc.). The benefit would be that if the Democrats won the 2020 election, they would be exposed for who they are - progressive, fascist nihilist leftists. Well, the Democrats cooperated in spades, well beyond what I thought they were crazy enough to do. Then, Trump enters and says and is doing all the things he needs to do (mostly), again way beyond what I thought he was capable of. So, if he doesn't follow through, then the whole thing is one big scam. I think he will follow through mainly because of the people on his team (his Cabinet and Elon). These are not people to be trifled with. They are serious people (you might quibble with one or two) who seem to be focused on getting things done.

Yes brother John, the democrats fell right into the sewer they created and are now totally full of ๐Ÿ’ฉ. Unfortunately itโ€™s America that is paying the price for their crimes and mental illness. Even Mr Bill, who is still trying to deal with his severe case of TDS, and lives occasionally in his Baltimore mansion, can notice the horror the party of mental illness brings to any city it corrupts. All of us thinkers and producers know the damage created by the left will take years to recover, if ever, but at least Trump is trying to fix things at a frantic pace because he knows we are out of time. The March to Bankruptcy began on 9/11/2001 and has become a full out sprint since Obama was placed in office. Mr Bill should realize that there is no better man to fix the bankruptcy problem than Trump with all his experience and success. In the meantime, buy the dip In crypto๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi SE,

The repeating allegations of Mr Bonner that IT's all inevitable that spending continous and increases has a legal background which is to be found in the impoundment control act from 1974 which prohibits to just cancle payments or funds that have been found misallocated or useless or unapproppiate, whatsoever.

They have to be spent on some other project.

There is a solution to that: RESCISSION.

What mystifies me is the lack of Congressional clamor for sensible spending cuts. Surely these mature men and women we've elected realize the financial peril the nation is confronting.

Unceremoniously firing civil servants will reduce Federal spending, of course, but my guess is it will be far from enough.

Too bad the current Ready-Fire-Aim Administration didn't publish spending reduction options.

They would have allowed us John Q Citizens to assess savings and consequences from several options to eliminate Federal services and the people providing them.

As it is, we and our go-along Congress is just along for the ride as Musk and his teenagers hack and slash creating lawsuits galore

She was an articulate example of a political party that has lost its way. Democrats exist to give Federal funds to those whom they decide don't have enough money.

Now that the rubber has met the road; that is, the Federal government is overspending, they haven't made a single suggestion where spending reductions could reasonably occur.

Too bad the Constitution didn't mandate a balanced budget. We've borrowed so much that it can never be repaid.

Sad to that neither party is focused on creating more wealth. This wealth-creation occurs in the private sector. The public sector simply consumes it

I am beginning to believe that it is much more than overspending. Certain politicians have increased their wealth by millions while in Congress. This egregious spending most likely includes kickbacks and corruption and that's why the Democrats don't want to see it end.

Yes, that is true, but many Republicans do advocate for reduced government. Can you find ONE Democrat that does? I wouldn't be surprised if the Mitch McConnell type Republicans are on the take (not accusing Mitch of anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that he is), but the Democrats love big government, and many have increased their wealth substantially while in office (granted, some RINOs as well). They keep on spending money and don't seem to care if it's spent responsibly, which to me means some are getting kickbacks. That being said, I do think there are Democrats that are totally sincere in their political big government insanity. For example, while I don't agree with AOC on anything, I believe she is honest and would be surprised if she were on the take. But once urine government and the temptations are there, who knows?

Bonner is doing his best to scare the bejeezus out of us over bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is not a preferred modality or policy, but it is sometimes necessary. We can't have the excesses we have seen and experienced in the last 50 years without a reset. The price of bankruptcy is high, because it, like divorce, as the joke goes, is WORTH it. If we have to default, the price of that shall have been worth it, IF we learn along with it that reliance on government is a fundamental mistake. If we come out of this with government relegated to the sidelines, we can restore our country. This is the essence of MAGA. Best always. PM

Once again, Bill's TDS is on display. He indicates that Pres. Trump ran up as large a deficit over his first term as Pres. Obama did over his entire two terms; and, spent almost $2T more than Pres. Biden did during his first term. What he doesn't point out is that if you look year by year at the three presidents' spending, you will see that Y2020 (when the COVID panic ensued, and the stock markets plunged) is what distorted the Trump deficit spending. In fact, from my research, Pres. Trump's deficits in his first three years were not much over $3T, or a little over $1T annually. Certainly nothing to brag about from a GOP POTUS, to say the least. But much like Pres. Obama's annual deficits, not a doubling by any means.

The problem is that in 2020, Pres. Trump went the states' rights route, mostly refusing to interfere with state governors' actions to COVID. Then the Dem governors went authoritarian-wild, forcing companies to lay off massive numbers of healthy people 18-to-65, knowing full well their globalist Fed allies would bail them out, which they did with many trillions of dollars that ran from 2020 into 2021. The GOP governors also initially panicked before coming to their senses, causing more needless layoffs, and more Fed bailouts.

Yet Bill takes things out of context here, conveniently blaming all of this leftist governor and Fed nonsense on Pres. Trump for being respectful of states' rights.

The single most important thing, for public consumption anyway, is whom they arrest first and for what and the punishment meted out. The public generally don't care about debt and spending as long as they think they are getting a share, but they understand retribution, and until an example is made of someone BIG, Trump and Co. won't be able to wind back the enormous damage that has been done to America. If not, the Left will just hunker down and wait until Trump is gone, one way or another. Gramsci and his ilk designed this strategy over a very long period of time and until they are uprooted, nothing will change. Everything else is white noise.
