Avoid the Big Loss and stay in the game. People who buy long-dated Treasury bonds, counting on the feds to repay in good time, in good faith, with good money, are likely to be victims.
Here is a list of things Trump will not do if he is elected President:
1. He will not continue the existing border policy
2. He will not continue support for the war in Ukraine
3. He will not support gender self-assignment or the mutilation of children
4. He will not promote or advance the destruction of the US military
5. He will not endorse Climate alarmism or weaponise Climate to force societal change or the destruction of the fossil fuel industry
6. He will not send Billions of American dollars overseas with zero accountability or transparency
7. He will not support zero accountability or integrity for public health policies
8. He will not support equal rights for illegal immigrants and Billions in free taxpayer benefits to accommodate them
9. He will not promote or advance discriminatory hiring policies and practices
10.He will not continually lie and dissemble to the American people about matters of substance that affect their wellbeing
11. etc
I am not a fan of Donald Trump, but in a two horse race where one of the horses is lame and sick there really isn’t much of a decision to be made.
Trump, if elected, may finish the job of bankrupting the country to the point of economic collapse. If that happens many other issues will become moot. But at this point there may not be much of anything he can do about the coming financial collapse even if he wanted to.

Thanks, Brien! I kind of get why Bill doesn't much like Trump. He remembers a time when government didn't control so much of our lives and there was, occasionally, some honest debate among the two major parties. That's gone and probably never coming back. I'm 55 and can say that 2016 was the only time in my lifetime that the War Party didn't win. What drives the neocons and the deep state creeps so crazy with respect to Trump is that he's an outsider, not one of them, and they may have to wait another four years to bomb Russia. These old bastards in DC are still fighting the Cold War, can't accept that the world has moved on, and see Trump as an obstacle to their warmonger ambitions. The fake Russian dossier didn't work. Lawfare didn't stop him. So, now they're just trying to kill him. Much of the world beyond these borders is starting to look a lot more civilized.
Very good Brian, and so much more needs to be done, but he will be under constant attack from an enemy media and entertainment industry. We know how this ends, and hopefully most here have prepared themselves and families for what is coming. Regardless of who is elected, the world is going to war, and nothing can be done now to stop it, the false election of Biden guaranteed this fact. It’s a world wide economic crisis that is going to be behind this next world war, as we’ve seen in our past history. Problem, Reaction, Solution ….The WEF agenda 30, Great Reset on its happy way🤔
It seems like Biden is pissed these communists stole his 300B and gave it to kamala and he seems to be pimping kamala by saying she controlled everything in his admin. I hope he endorses Trump in the end.
So Trump has terrible taste for hiring his advisors and good people around him in politics. He was arguably an excellent businessman, but not so great at politics. As a NY business man, He supported the democratic cult financially 85% of the time. Most of his friends were democrats. Trump is your typical NY Liberal. It is far easier than that. Eliminate 550 of the 750 military sites around the world, cut government jobs in half. Balance the budget and therefor cut government jobs in half. Let Congress reps do their own work, fire all staff, which would take away their ability to create more laws. Fire the Fed, sell the building. Back the dollar with gold at 15,000 an ounce. Quit NATO and the UN. Stop sending billions to Ukraine and Israel. Give Russia the territory it has won and stop encroaching on the Kremlin like we promised when the Berlin wall was taken down. Remove the CIA, fire all staff and sell all the buildings. Fire half of the FBI and replace the leaders with with people who work for society rather than politicians trying to remain if office. Stop lying! Tell the world we have stopped being the world's policeman and mean it. Make East and West coasters, including Chicagoans, wear masks and pay for themselves and their welfare programs.
Elon Musk has survived thanks to government subsidies and contracts. Plus he benefits from real BS: carbon tax credits. Maybe he should announce that if Trump is elected he will work to end taxpayers' subsidies for his Spontaneously Combustion Engine Tesla.
How about also taking the advice of George Washington to avoid foreign entanglements with massive cutbacks in our overseas bases? Maybe raise money by levying fines against government officials when they refuse to answer direct yes/no questions when testifying to Congress.
Musknhas provem that he knows how the swindles work. Was it Doug Casey who used to say something along tgeblines of "a speculator takes advantage of inefficiencies caused by government to profit"?
I have no issues with speculators and short sellers as they provide a service to tge economy.
A Communist and/or a democrat will continue in a path of destruction to the United States.
We need a businessman that can control spending. One thing Trump can do as soon as he gets into office is get rid of the department of education (let the states control it) and the worthless over spending department of energy. AP
AGreed. We don't need the Department of Education because since its inception students have been doing worse and worse. Aso consider getting rid of the Dept of Energy too. Carter started these two wasteful useless departments.
Absolutely agree Abe, along with half of our other useless political agencies. The real battle is going to come from our corrupt media, and it will be an assault that makes his last term look like child’s play. The swamp is going to go all in and it will be up to We the People to fight back.
SL: Trump has NEVER been an excellent businessman. He cheats and lies. Why do you think he has been convicted?? Please read his history and not take everyone who seems to be a Republican view of him. Kamala is not a communist and never has been. She is a lawyer who is a vice president. What Marxist are you talking about? You like to spew misinformation and you don’t really have a clue what you are talking about. How Sad!
Convicted by radical leftists. What a joke. No one and I mean no one has lied more than JB going back to plagiarism in 1987 and his wife being killed by a drunken truck driver. Sadly, she pulled out in front of the trucker.
SL: It obvious that you don’t read much or watch anything that shows the candidates true values in life. Communist?? where do you get this information?…Oh, I know. From the Republicans. Kamala has never been a marxist but maybe old Donald has. Our dollar is not exploding because of her. Put the blame where it belongs: The Fed. You really need to do better research. P.S. I think you screwed up on your last sentence.
Dorothy. You did ask me a year ago Where you could get Truthful information. I refer you to Zerohedge. I can see by your posts, You simply roll out democratic talking points. There is no possible way You could read Zero hedge And still think The way you think. Strategic culture, The Macy's institute, Dog Casey, Dave Callum et cetera et cetera. Educate yourself. I can't stand trump eitherI am not voting for trump I am voting for the second amendment, freedom of speech, Secure border, Energy independence, And to drop the entire climate scam. That is what I am voting for.
While I agree your feelings regarding politicians, I disagree that Trump is the same as the rest. His first 4 years in office was loaded with democratic induced roadblocks. He did his best even though he is not a politician. The next 4 years hopefully will be different (especially if republicans control the house and senate). Most importantly if we can become the energy supplier country of the world and have many other countries buy our oil; the profits made should be used to pay off the deficit. Trump may not be a lovable person and his personality may not be to your liking, but I think he will put America on a proper course and make America great again. AP
Do you think Trump will be different this time? His first four years of draining the swamp included appointing Swamp Creatures like Mike Pompeo, John Bolton, Bill Barr , Steve Munchkin, etc to key positions. I hope your right about his next term.
I agree with you. She has to be the worse candidate in my lifetime. Maybe Trump will have an awakening like Scrooge. We'll get an idea with his first appointments. Hopefully it's not more Swamp Creatures.
Everything from a helicopter view and history, is that the ‘We-got-no-choice-but-Kamala-Kamala’, says another ‘Never-Was-President’ marionette of the Dementocratic Elite.
Heard today and the same non-words every other day.
What a giggle it all is, People!
‘MeggaMouth-Trumps’ has his own rule book and will take no prisoners this time.
Republi-Dopes will be crashed through as the RINO’s they proved to have been.
After the potshots, both real and judicial, constant windy whispering in the corridors, the 2025 Don, having had ‘The Godfather’s manuscript of life & death by his side, will not be the same ‘Don the Younger’ we saw last time.
My guess is liberally marked all the way through D’Family handbook & turned down page corners of kick-butt solutions.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly could well be the White House welcoming anthem…
"Then, there was his landmark legislation — the tax cut. It will ‘pay for itself’ said its backers... GDP will go up and tax collections will rise. No such thing happened. Deficits rose. And in the four years following, US debt increased by $6.5 trillion. " Quote from Bill's Missive Today
Sigh, Bill demonstrates either ignorance or willful disregard (i.e. lied) because tax collections did rise. A simple internet search of revenue collected during the years before and after 2017 prove this to be true. GDP also rose, which can easily be confirmed. Bill did get the "deficits rose" point right, but that is on Congress, not a President, as Congress holds the spending purse strings. Come on Bill, tell us who you endorse for President this year, is it the Communist or the red blooded American?
Congress holds the purse strings but the president does have the veto. The Repugs control the House now and Speaker Johnson caved to the Dims without getting any concessions like closing the border. Johnson's first line of business was to support Israel not the American people.
No one is saying the Republicans are a panacea or even a solution. A wise man once told me, "Republicans are not the solution to all the problems, but Democrats are definitely the cause of all the problems." Truer words were never spoken.
Could we agree that both parties are corrupt and evil? For example, this century we've had 12 years of each party in power and there was very little difference in expansion of federal interference in our lives, budget deficits, war, and corruption. Classic example, there was never an independent investigation into the "suicide" of Epstein or the powers behind his blackmail scheme. Another example, both Trump and Biden promoted the experimental mRNA "vaccine" as safe and effective. Neither side apologized when the truth came out that it neither prevents transmission or contracting COVID.
Some 5 years ago I had the pleasure of finding an indepth analysis of the CFR. Made by a group of Swiss Scientists (Swiss Policy Research). Main conclusion: 95 % of all elected Congressmen/women and same in the Senate are on their list.
That seems to me the best explanation for the "uniparty-theme" we observe.
Cartero, I don't think corruption is a party thing. I would agree that it's fair to say "there are corrupt politicians in both parties", but if we're talking specifically about parties and their ideology the Democrats have a monopoly on evil.
Here's why: If you really analyze every policy proposal or "solution" that a Democrat or the overwhelming majority of Democrats offer, they are all, every single one, based on and rooted in growing an already grossly oversized federal government. There is never any consideration for the individual citizen, his liberty, or his prosperity. It's all about the collective and collectivism (i.e. Marxism). This is not a principle upon which this country was founded--period.
Another example is taxes. Cacklin' Kamala, like all good Marxists/Leftists/Democrats says "the rich should pay their fair share" and that the "rich pay a smaller percentage than teachers and fire fighters". She knows that the top 1% of income earners pay over 26% of all the income tax, and that to use the 8% she says they pay she has to include unrealized capital (on paper) gains. But it doesn't matter, she'll just lie to win.
The Cackler has an ad running right now in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area where some dude that is depicted to be sweating copper pipe says essentially all of this and that "Kamala is fighting for us and will raise taxes on the rich." It's pure class warfare, and by all means, Kamala approves this message.
To be a Democrat and to vote Democrat is voting for an evil, dangerous ideology that has failed everywhere it has been tried and it will fail spectacularly here (as it's been doing for almost four years now). As the old saying goes, "You vote yourself into socialism and then you have to shoot your way out of it". No people on the planet are better prepared to shoot their way out of something than the American people.
Oh, you won't hear anything back. She gave me her BS story how Trump was a convicted felon, so I explained the situation to her in detail. She never replied back. But then continued to make the same comment to others. She's a black hole with nothing useful to say.
Yes, he has been, overall, a huge disappointment IMO. He talks a great game - check out the clips of him on the "news" show yesterday. Very slick. Slapping the R's on the back with one hand and tossing out our tax dollars to foreign Countries with the other.
Wanna see REAL change-for-the-better in the House? Put Tom Massie in the Speakers slot...
Yes Mr Atómico, it is a spit fest and the .gov’ers are revealing the utter lack of governance capacity. The U.S. 542 federales elected are going to find out eventually how many millions of taxpaying voters will be persistently and pervasively helicopter managing them relentlessly.
More on the spit fest here published by Egon von Greyerz with some illuminating graphics here
It sure would be fun to go there and a bonus to visit with Von Greyerz. I would not turn down an opportunity for some fraternal Swiss competitive shooting event(s). And also stop in to take a walk about Erich’s impressive Swiss Mountain Fortress https://swissmountainfortress.com
Bonner is particularly good at ignoring facts when it comes to anything about Trump or his policies. Instead, he excels at gaslighting and or lying.
Yes, I said it. BB is generally trustworthy in most other areas of concern, but when it comes to Trump, treat his words like you should be treating everything we get from the "media" and the dimocrat communists. 99.9 times out of 100, you can be assured the opposite of what they say is the Truth...
JG: Ah, did he hurt your feelings? If BB says anything against Trump, every Rep., gets pushed out of shape. But if its it a Dem., it’s right on! Put your big boy pants on.
Dave, while on the topic of Mr B’s quotes, this one about the $UST10Y “…bond (the most important brick in the whole financial wall).” That 🧱 brick is known as a “clinker”. The brickworks (aka brick factory) is insolvent. The brickworks management is shuffling zombie-like towards Downgradeville’s bankruptcy courthouse of public opinion.
And about public opinion, our fellow readers can avoid this distasteful medicine for only so long. Here’s Kitco News’ Michelle Makori (12 Oct 2024) interview of Dave Collum: Markets Overvalued by 150% as Dishonest Metrics Hide the Coming 'Catastrophic' Collapse
Here is a little of what you and and other of our fellow readers have in store.
Summary
U.S. equity markets are significantly overvalued, posing a risk of economic collapse, while geopolitical shifts and declining confidence in the dollar suggest a potential rise in the value of hard assets like gold.
Market Overvaluation and Economic Risks
Markets are overvalued by 150% based on 25 metrics, with current P/E ratio of 36 being 200% above the historical average of 12 from 1880-1994, indicating a potential catastrophic correction.
A 60% market correction may be required to bring prices to rational levels, reset investor attitudes, and make investors truly suffer enough to stop buying.
Inflation and Economic Metrics
Official inflation metrics are likely manipulated, with real inflation potentially 5% higher than reported CPI; alternative measures like the Chapwood index show 8% inflation vs 3% official.
Long-Term Market Outlook
Over the next 40 years, US equity markets are expected to regress to the mean, with inflation-adjusted returns near zero as the current 150% overvaluation burns off.
Investment Strategy
Collum’s 40-year investment strategy includes 20% gold exposure, 10% gold funds, and physical gold, with a preference for gold miners run by trustworthy management.
Global Economic Shifts
De-dollarization is accelerating, with 25 countries shifting alliances away from the US, potentially leading to a collapse of the US dollar and a “gruesome decade” ahead.
Digital Currencies and Gold
Central banks are buying gold at record levels, with expectations of a gold-backed currency emerging soon, while Collum remains skeptical of Bitcoin’s long-term value due to state intervention risk.
Societal and Political Concerns
Collum warns of potential civil unrest and authoritarianism as society struggles, citing concerns over the weaponization of the justice system against political opponents and extreme legal actions like 870-year sentences for January 6th defendants.
We have no "market". We have a place where government money gets parcelled out among the sharks. We are owned, lock, stock, and barrel by the government, from which everything proceeds and returns. It's classic fascism, and a far cry from what the Founders intended. Communists claim their system hasn't been implemented "correctly". The same could be said for freedom. Best always. PM
Trump is Trump. The country seemed to be doing quite well until COVID hit. The "professional" media said they would do all they could to destroy him and they didn't disappoint. He had Israel and Saudi Arabia ready to sign a peace deal that Biden quickly squashed as soon as he was in.
Bob, I can't tell you how many people I have heard say, "Yes, Biden is ruining the country, but at least he's not Trump!" There's no remedy to this kind of thinking, you know, baby and bath water... Best always PM
I was watching a journalist interview a man in a very small town in Pennsylvania. This man was complaining about all the Haitians that had moved into the area over the last three years. He said, "You can smell sewage all over the town because the septic system is over 100 years old and was never meant to handle so many people." He complained how rental houses, some owned by the government, are filled with 20 people living in a single residence. He went on, the clinics are broke with long wait times to see a doctor. The schools are suffering, with teachers having to come up with a way to teach 50 new kindergarteners, who don't speak English, into their school system. The citizens own children affected. At the end of all the legitimate complaints the journalist asked the man, "Who do you blame for all this?" Without hesitation the man said, "The Republicans". And as we all should know by now, you can be poor, middle-class or very wealthy and still suffer with DTS.. God help us, God help America.
Stories such as this abound. No one wants to admit this, but I will: it's over. There is no coming back from this lunacy. Argue about the reasons, if you must, but we surrendered our country. We may not have realized it, but we did. Now, the deluge. Best always. PM
Paul, I am of the same opinion. The under-40 college attendees have been indoctrinated. You’ll find more believers in socialism/communism (just different sides of the same totalitarian coin) on a U.S. college campus than you will in the rest of the entire world.
The ship has sailed. The Republic as founded is lost.
History has taught us (over and over) what it takes to even partially get out of the mess we are in. Leftists will NEVER peacefully surrender Power - it always requires their permanent removal.
Prepare yourself Physically, Materially and most important, Mentally to stand on the side of Freedom, Self-Determination and Justice.
Or just surrender your children/grandchildren to a future of never being more than slaves...
I graduated from college in 1970….bad time to be in support of anything right of center…many that I attended school with during that hippie styled, rebellious period were committed to anti American and anti Capitalist principles….
Years pasted and most of them discovered that tie-dyed, long haired, bohemian living was a countrculture ethic that most productive people were not going to accept or agree with.
Hard to feed and clothe yourself without a paycheck and conformity.
Here we go again, same old tired rhetoric. We get you hate Trump, believe me, we get it. You continue to criticize the man, constantly. Some would think you are on the Kamala chameleons pay roll. I do enjoy your prose when you are focused on the issue we all come here to hear, but come on man, for all your criticism, where are YOUR solutions. It is way to easy to throw stones (something I think you enjoy), you are quick to point out failures but never, not even once have I seen alternatives come out of your diatribes. Keep up the good work... I think, when focused on investing, otherwise, either run for office, come publish your solutions or just SU already.
CM: I criticize Trump because he has done a lot of things which I have stated before and what they were. I’ve recommend that you read Trump’s history as a business man and as President. He is not a good person and he will not Save you. With him, it’s every person for themselves. It will always be Trump first and then maybe you. By the way I’ll shut up when everyone else does.
based on his first four years in office, I profoundly disagree with your comments which no doubt you learned from MSM, books published by them and the general narrative that "Trump Bad". The bottom line is, YOU do not know him. All you have is the rhetoric published by those who stand to lose the most. And that, is the bottom line.
Well, it looks like Bill knows how to jerk the chain. At least when Bill bashes Trump (100th time now, at least) the people who know he is the better choice of the two, defend what he did right. If you went after Harris with the same fervor, you probably would not have one person defending her except the people who would be calling you a rascist, for picking on a woman or person of color. It is starting to get a little old. If Trump loses, are we still going to be hearing his name after November 5th?
"[I]f experience teaches us anything at all it teaches us this: that a good politician, under democracy, is quite as unthinkable as an honest burglar. His very existence, indeed, is a standing subversion of the public good in every rational sense. He is not one who serves the common weal; he is simply one who preys upon the commonwealth"
~ H. L. Mencken, From "The Politician" in Prejudices: A Selection, edited by James T. Farrell
Here is where (AND how) I personally part ways with Mr Bonner’s words, “…the way to avoid being victimized is to vote for politicians who will reduce the burden of public policies, not increase it.”
Voting IS one way. Agreed.
As a card carrying “deplorable” in the eyes of the malignant statist class; we proles band together, ought to seriously consider relentlessly hectoring the hell out of those we’ve voted for to let them know they are dispensable, are merely seasonal workers, that the dispensable seasonal worker have term limits, that they are forbidden from passing (CR) continuing resolutions, that they are forbidden from creating omnibus legislation, that proles taxes are paid whenever the deplorable declare it tax day, and that the water and power to mere dispensable seasonal workers can be shut off if the deplorables see fit.
Can someone provide a more complete reference for this post’s opening quote from Rebecca Fuchs, The Emperor Has No Clothes? I’d like to go to the source. Thanks.
Agree, Bill. As a (relatively) young retiree, avoiding the Big Loss at this stage in life is paramount. Although I'm bummed about being too cautious and missing most of the big 2024 rally (and have commented as much), in the big picture hindsight is 20/20 and thus it's easy to be 'bummed.' But I have to factor in that a big loss would be devastating at this point, so all-in-all there's no FOMO. Your observation that you "win by not losing" is wise, and I need to keep that foremost in mind. Great article. Thanks!
Nice thoughts Bill, and I certainly concur on the Feds complicity and advice to naïve people who are thinking of buying long-dated Treasury bonds should think twice and many more times,
but you left out some key facts.
Impacts from: the deep state (un-elected bureaucracy’s) economy-killing 2019-24 Covid mandates; the prior 3-years then (and 4 years since 2020-2024) of biased media, DNC/deep state and neocon constraints on Trump ( 2016-2020: fake Russian collusion, deep state social media coercion to curtail free speech, impeachment attempt I, 2020-24 election interference: HB Laptop “hoax” lies, J6 / H-Reps hearings ~impeachment attempt II, US JD & State lawfare cases, et al.
That's a lot of resistance to face and still come back for more.
At the least please be more accurate of the 2016-24 landscape in your analysis.
A reader who usually concurs with your missive here was disappointingly lacking in objectivity.

I like the sweet sound of your post. As a far away observer I´m afraid that none of these will ever happen. Too many dead along the way.....
Sorry Brien, the post went wrong. Is meant for Machinac.....
damned accurate

I like the sweet sound of your post. As a far away observer I´m afraid that none of these will ever happen. Too many dead along the way....
I don't have much confidence in governmentt either. But I keep on writing my representatives anyway. I figure at some point reality will hit them.
...Shred international trade agreements. Fk the WTO.

I have no issues with speculators and short sellers as they provide a service to tge economy.
Tom:
From your mouth into God’s ears
Tom: That’s the best joke that I have heard yet! Musk blows money like there is no tomorrow. He has too many jobs as it is.
At least he gets results Dorothy, he is a doer and if given a free hand, just look out!
CD: Maybe yes and maybe no. I like him but he has too many irons on the stove already.
Steve:
A Communist and/or a democrat will continue in a path of destruction to the United States.
We need a businessman that can control spending. One thing Trump can do as soon as he gets into office is get rid of the department of education (let the states control it) and the worthless over spending department of energy. AP
AGreed. We don't need the Department of Education because since its inception students have been doing worse and worse. Aso consider getting rid of the Dept of Energy too. Carter started these two wasteful useless departments.
Hey bob. Yes and I think that pig carter also came out yesterday To endorse Harris.

Bill:
Hey cartero. Yes he was a real disappointment the 1st time. No matter what he does It will still be an improvement from her.

Im on board with that.
DJ: Well, you have to blame someone. Of course, it’s always going to be the other party.
I'm still waiting for you to answer my question about how your life was negatively impacted in any way during the DJT presidency.

Hi Mark,
Von Greyerz offers some state of the art Storage Facilities for PM´s, btw.

Yes brother, but Bill is evidently in the “Elite” category, and could well be just another part of the swamp. Has Bill ever gone to an WEF event 🤔
Bill doesnt want to be kicked out of his high society jet set club. So he can't say anything positive about trump
Yes, Bonner is typically full of sh*t when it comes to Trump.
JG: Ah, did he hurt your feelings? If BB says anything against Trump, every Rep., gets pushed out of shape. But if its it a Dem., it’s right on! Put your big boy pants on.
Damn. I should have known if I used the word "sh*t" it would attract flies.

** The Fed’s so-called “dual mandate” is 1.) price stability and 2.) employment. That’s why it pulls the interest rate and balance sheet levers.
These days, however, with runaway federal deficits… the Fed has a quiet 3rd mandate – managing interest on the government debt.
I'm going to allocate the time to watch the entire video. I'm shocked that YouTube hasn't taken it down already.

PM
Thanks for the summary, Mark...
Sluggo, keep the faith man!!!!
Wow. Blames the Repubs...that has to make Democrats smile.
Sluggo: Yes it does!

Good information
I’d be fine with Vance, Musk, and Thiel in charge. They might do the right thing. Let Trump give speeches.
The Idea of America: A Collection of Essays
Bill Bonner
Well, it looks like Bill knows how to jerk the chain. At least when Bill bashes Trump (100th time now, at least) the people who know he is the better choice of the two, defend what he did right. If you went after Harris with the same fervor, you probably would not have one person defending her except the people who would be calling you a rascist, for picking on a woman or person of color. It is starting to get a little old. If Trump loses, are we still going to be hearing his name after November 5th?
In retrospect, my most egregious fault has been not knowing when to say no.

Thanks.
Why? It's lousy "poetry". Best always. PM
Thanks!
DJT, Donald Trump's social media stock was up 18.47% today, after being up over 50% last week. Go Donald!!!
