The healthcare industry requires not just doctors and nurses, but an army of administrators. Of the $5 trillion spent on medical services each year, at least 40% has little to do with patients.
I went to a medical conference a few years ago and they showed a chart. This showed the number of doctors vs administrators entering the profession since 1970. The doctors roughly doubled in number whereas the admins increases by 7000%. Yikes..trim the fat
"The US now ranks 46th in life expectancy - …but an army of administrators. Of the $5 trillion spent on medical services each year, at least 40% has little to do with taking care of patients."
Now do "Public" Education as funded by Federal and Local Taxpayers.

Yes brother, America went from number 1 in healthcare to the lower levels of third worldism. Yep, our universities and medical schools are pumping out woke idiots that have an education In pure ignorance and understand little about science other than the lies they were told. Another huge thank you Obama and all the leftist idiots who sold this garbage to the most ignorant American people and even the “elite” are knocking the Obamacare Woke Joke. Only it’s not too funny for us middle class Americans that are not civil servants and who actually pay all the cost for the government workers and the lazy useless of society. Looking forward for the collapse and the battle that will ensue.
Unfortunately, It has to burn down in order to rebuild. Argentina is looking better and better by the week 🤔
Bill, thanks for the humor. I love reading your articles. I learn a lot and laugh too. As a operator of the "Hindu Goddess", I can attest to the growth of administrators at every hospital. Not sure the exponential growth was ever needed, but it is directly related to the increasing complexity of how hospitals are paid. Streamline the payment system and incentive great outcomes and better preventative care. Competition is good, but for various reasons, patients usually seek care in their immediate area.
Interesting that between Ireland, France, etc. that you have received care in the US.
A sidebar observation - several years back a report was published noting that over the time period measured (not remembering the exact dates) in the public school system student population went up 200%, teacher population went up 300%, and administrator population went up 700%. Sound familiar?
Program on TV last week showed a particular drug and the cost to patients.
The pharmacist said if you buy it with no insurance he charges $7 for the drug and $10 for his services. If you get that same drug through Medicare it costs $2400. I could go on…..
Bill, if you are looking for first class treatment from the medical services industry you have to use the secret phrase. The first chance you get you say, “I will be paying for this with cash.” After that magic phrase a whole new world opens for you! My experience is that instead of seeing a doctor in three or four weeks there is suddenly an opening tomorrow! And you seem to get a sizable discount from the insurance price.
Tyler L.: Yes! This happened to me and my wife six years ago pertaining to one of our nieces, who changed jobs, but in the two-month interim, seriously injured her right shoulder. A real unlucky fluke. And she couldn't do her new job without the surgery, but she suddenly had no medical insurance from either the old or new employer, so my wife and I stepped in. We thought it was going to cost the insurance rate of about $10,000 total, but without us even asking, after indicating we would pay cash, the hospital and surgeon reduced their rate by 35%, and she received the (successful) surgery early the next week.
Bill Hope all went well !! I really do enjoy your writing's.....seems like you joined the DOGE camp ..well at least with regard to the Health Care system. Again hope all went well
Funny... My dad is about Bill's age. A nurse asked him to draw a clock showing 10 minutes after 5. He drew a square, and inside the square he drew a zero, a five, a colon, a one, and a zero. "You didn't say it had to be an analog clock," he said.
Don't look now, but gold, PHYSICAL gold, is starting to move out of Europe to mainland USA. What's that tell us? Physical money always anticipates and precedes the doo-doo hitting the fan. And what might be that doo-doo? Europe deciding to take on Putin maybe? With what, pray tell?
My sources? Doug Casey (Bonner's "bad cop" sidekick to his "good cop" schtick) and Martin Armstrong. These two guys, Casey and Armstrong, don't play around. Here's a line from Casey: "Gold is vanishing from London at a record pace—over 64 million ounces flowing into the US since November 2024." The gold doesn't know where it resides, but the owners of said gold sure as heck-fire do. There are still millions of dollars of gold and valuables buried in East Prussia, because the Germans living there at the time of Russia's advance assumed they would be going back home after the war. Guess what? Best always. PM
"Don't look now, but gold, PHYSICAL gold, is starting to move out of Europe to mainland USA. What's that tell us? "
It could be telling us that Trump/Musk are serious about auditing Ft. Knox and the thieves know how empty all those vaults actually are.
Fret not, Lizard People. we only need to "borrow" the stage props for a few weeks. They will all be returned once the fleecing and facade on the American People and their "media" is complete...
I believe that there is no use for radioactive gold, other than maybe replacing uranium 🤔. It seems the globalist are intent on a limited nuclear war and considering America should be mostly safe due to our “unknown” missile defense systems, which Europe does not have, I think much of the European Elite will be sending their wealth abroad and moving to less threatening areas🤔, especially Argentina 😊
Interesting take, SE, as always. I hope yours is the correct one. I'm afraid Europe sees itself swirling the drain and is going to take the Nestea Plunge. Smarter heads are moving their, shall we say, "stuff". Best always. PM
P.S. Help me out here. Refresh my memory. What happened when Germany sent its gold to NYC (Treasury Dept) for safe-keeping and then wanted it back? I seem to recall something about that.
That was a peek behind the curtain that wasn't able to be buried because of the Maturity Level of the Internet and Independent Media. Hence, we can still read and watch some of the less-damning facts about that falling out among thieves.
Now go back in time and find whatever you can about what happened when Billyboy Clinton sent pallets of "gold" bars to China in the '90s, and they wisely took core samples to test the "material" upon arrival.
Agreed. Unfortunately, the majority of EU "leaders" are delusional leftardes that believe the slogans bouncing around their echo chambers. If war kicks off, Trump will keep us out of it up until the inevitable point where the EU countries have gotten their asses handed to them so badly by RU/NK/CCP we have no choice but to step in and save them from total destruction - again.
I pray events don't take this route, but these people are completely lost, arrogant, ignorant and prideful. Don't believe me? Look at Starmer in the WH spouting about how "great the Freedom of Speech is" in today's UK. The same domain where they throw people in jail for 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 a fellow citizen, with added jail time if the offended party is an illegal alien. Disgusting and Dangerous - but the actual wrong-headed policy is not nearly as bad as the "leaders" praising it. Talk about living in an F'd up society...
Yea, this year for my Medicare physical I want to draw a circle and write in the circle 11:30... no hands, no second hand no other numbers just a digital 11:30.... just like my phone has, you reckin that'll pass the dementia question?
Well, if you're going to go digital, then the Bonner smart-aleck question "AM or PM?" has merit? Get them to specify "PM" and then write 23:30. Then really blow their minds by saying, "You know, don't you, that, in this case, ':30' is actually '.5'?" Haha. What a bite. Best always. PM

I love Bill's morbid sense of humor...jack Jones...good. :). And the Gary larson cartoon made me chuckle.....;)

The modern "health care" system is a scourge; its hospitals death traps.
Death trap for real!
Healthcare ! Thats funny
If they offer you Remdisivir and a Vent, just say No
Doctors call Remdisivir, "Run death is near".
I think the phrase "Run, death is near", was popularized by nurses, not doctors.

That was humorous. Unfortunately true, but funny.
Humor… the best medicine. Thank you for that dose today.
“Your name?”
“You just called my name,” we answer.
“Yeah, I know your name. I want to make sure you know your name.”
“But I came when you called me.”….LOLOL…now that’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are! :-))
