Good one Bill. I have a simple minded concern about AI. When AI replaces millions of jobs, and millions of people have no income, WHO buys the products companies make? Sounds like a lot of companies could go belly up! OH, and who feeds all the unemployed workers? Yep, more fiat money creation. KEEP THE GOLD!!!!

I have been investing for 40+ years. Every 10-15 years the same old mantra, “this time is different.” Maybe this time is different? My guess, it all blows up! Then all the cries of, the government must do something to keep this from happening again. Well, flash alert, they did that last time! Buckle up buttercup!

I, too, given credit when credit is due. Thank you, Bill, for providing a financially-related essay. And not a peep about that nasty orange man. That wasn’t so hard now was it Bill?

Well Dan , Mr. T. is at the tip of the pile now and He is the one that should change things. Past Presidents hold no power now. So it is Mr. T. to change things for the better. My view from My arm chair. Now Mr. T. has done some good things , but has not made a dent in the "bad" things that all governments do .

If a catastrophe occurred which resulted in the loss of 90% of US GDP, there would be Armageddon-like consequences within minutes the world over. It would have the effect of time suddenly freezing. Everybody everywhere would be in the same figurative boat. Isn't this what the communists have always wanted? Everybody would be "the same". Isn't that "fairness"? Isn't that desirable? And if AI gets us there sooner and quicker, so much the better, right? Best always. PM

P.S. The idea of someone acting properly and individually is somehow harmful to the whole, and that we have gone off the rails to that extent makes me wonder if I shouldn't be cheering for and gleefully anticipating the "Big Loss." PM

Good article! Hard to discern if Bill is writing. I miss the literary touch.

I like the religious motifs.

People are fighting over the Promised Land, genocide milieu, thousands of years.

It is a God forsaken piece of land.

Should indicate something.

Paradise is not a place but a state of mind, communion with God.

Everyone is seeking Utopia, left or right, WOKE OR MAGA.

Salvation is like the Kingdom of God, “all around.”

The Word became man, was crucified. The cross an anathema.

The world is crazy. Hungering for Utopia settling for Hell.

You want to throw up your hands up like Jonah. It is all a “Voice crying in the wilderness”.

Christ, “Father forgive them, they don’t know what they are doing.”

How long Lord? “Many are called; few choose.”

well those snakes don't bite do they? even if they do what's the poison do? it might poison one family but not the other based on whether they got the dreaded Jab or decided to skip it .. the entire investment industry is a spin off from the gambling industry .. poker card roulette tables are an investment and the returns are terrific according to the results of major firms who supply them .. gambling will continue even when no industry is around (like the 2 up game invented by the Assies) all you need is some collateral (cigarettes) to gamble/bet about .. while all that is happening in greater and greater volume who the hell is making/servicing anything of value ? now there are small shops all over the world with signs local product ONLY .. and tourist taxes increasing 10x in most European countries today .. your gonna pay to play anywhere in EDEN ! especially if you want to play with Eve or Adam!

The statement which I think best describes markets is simply - if you can't see the liquidity in a market, you are the liquidity. This is true right now in nearly all markets, but none so obvious as in cryptos.

Good one Patrick. Yes gold can/will go up and down but 5000 years of financial history says it is always the tool of last resort in every financial collapse.
