Bill, I am finding it more difficult by the day to read your missives. Today you begin by stating you are "objectivity" connecting the dots, as is your desire. Then you go full steam into the subjective destruction of Trump. What is one to think??

Bonita Dave's avatar

I agree. Trump certainly has his faults but he is trying to dismantle the deep state. He captured Maduro, which will bring stability to the region, he now can cut off Venezuelan oil to Cuba which might make Cuba fall. He destroyed Iran's nuclear capability and now Iran is on the verge of falling. Bill, are you one of those that say Trump's most horrific act is building the WH ball room?

Steven's avatar

“He is trying to dismantle the deep state”

Not sure what kool-aid you are drinking, but you have been sold out my friend. Trump is the deep state and is bargaining a greater role for America (and himself) in the NWO. The feudal system has returned, and the elites are loving watching you peasants bicker in a bilateral system as you become poorer everyday.

Turn off Fox News my dear boomer.

Worm Farmer extraordinaire's avatar

I voted for trump 3 times for lack of a better choice. The southern border is still closed my friend. That alone was worth your vote. He is attempting mass deportations. Today he is trying to debunk illegals. D. bank. Would you prefer kamala Or Gavin newsom ?

Steven's avatar

False Dilemma. Just because the other options sucks doesn’t mean that the “better” option is worthy of praise or exempt from criticism.

One you realize that both options are puppets can begin to explore the truth.

Tom DeArmond's avatar

Odds are you speak the truth. And I'm a boomer!

Steven's avatar

For the sake of my young children, I pray every day that I’m wrong

Bonita Dave's avatar

Why do libs keep saying turn off Fox news? Do you ever hear conservatives say turn off MSNBC? BTW I am getting wealthier every day, thank you so much, doomer.

Steven's avatar

I’m far from a lib. The fact that you think you are getting wealthier shows that you can’t even digest the material presented to you everyday in this news letter.

Appreciate you boomers leaving us young folks a doomed economy and a generation of beta male losers.

I truly don’t understand why you pay Bonner money if you are going to complain about his takes every day. Classic boomer struggling with low T. Keep yelling at the clouds

Sluggo's avatar

Really sounds like us boomers are living in YOUR head rent-free.

Ha. Ha.

Bonita Dave's avatar

So its my fault you are a poor loser? I'm killing it, thanks in part for Bill's insights. BTW tough guy, why do you post anonymously? Low T?

Worm Farmer extraordinaire's avatar

I believe your statement about wealth is incorrect. Put in the gold deflator on your portfolio I'm sure you have less money. I voted for trump 3 times

If Irans nuclear capability was destroyed…why is the Armada at their doorstep…It was obliterated according to Trump but now only days away from the bomb according to Wycoff…Who should we believe???

Bonita Dave's avatar

For the past 50 yrs Iran has been the world's biggest exporter of terror. Their IUDs killed and maimed over 1000 of our service people in Iraq. They recently killed over 35,000 of their own people clawing to their diminishing power. They are on the brink of collapse. I hope and pray the armada, without a single American casualty, pushes them over the edge.

CQWLNC's avatar

I read you daily missive very regularly and appreciate your efforts to educate and keep your readers focused on what is happening under the surface of daily world news. Regarding today's writing it seems like your critic of Trump's SOU address would hit home more effectively if you hadn't quoted the supporting stories in publications like the the AP, Washington Post, etc. who are completely unworthy any mention in your newsletter unless it is criticism.

Sources of unknown credibility, or known lack of it. 110% right on.

Quoting them is a constant source of wonder.

There may be a lot of dots, but the trend is clear. Too much spending and big government. There will be no change in the trend, regardless of who is in charge, without the elimination of both. The sad thing is that it has drifted down to the state and even local levels. Buckle up, it is going to be a hell of a ride!

Abe Porter's avatar

I agree. We need term limits and NO pensions to get rid of the bad politicians that are only interested in themselves and not the country.

Bart Nelson's avatar

I agree. If you eliminated the pensions, you probably wouldn't need the term limits because most of these criminals and lawyers would stay back home. It's amazing how the longer they stay there, the richer they get. The corruption is the gift that just keeps on giving!

Bill to go back to your previous post about Epstein, what seems to have been lost in all the pontificating and finger pointing is something that should be apparent to all professional writers, tho it appears I may be the only one. Here 'tis: Epstein was many bad things, but the one thing he wasn't is the label that's been glued to him forever. As far as we know (and, granted this could change), he was not a "pedophile," the correct definition of which is a person mostly or only sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children. Yes, the term is commonly misused to refer to any sexual interest in minors under the average legal age of majority of 18. What Epstein was (probably only in part), was an "ephebophile," i.e. someone mostly sexually attracted to adolescents and teens. But no one is familiar with the proper word, so pedophile has been adopted as a shorthand version that everyone knows. It shouldn't be. A pedophile is understandably repulsive. But ephebophilia is quite common, especially among males. Men also have hundreds of thousands of years of biology that urged reproduction as soon as a woman was fertile, generally the early teens. Why does it matter? Who cares how Epstein is remembered? Well, I am a guy who makes his living as a writer, so I find improper usages to be personally offensive. But in larger terms, what does this mischaracterization do to us culturally? To me, it's corrosive. It degrades and cheapens a word that should fill us with horror. There are monsters operating true pedophile rings in our societal underbelly, with kidnapped children as their currency. That isn't who Epstein was. His activities took place among the elite class, with a kind of patina of respectability. This is in no way to deny the damage he did to so many young girls. But to conflate him with a real pedophile trafficker is to rip the meaning from the latter term. It allows the public to safely vent its anger against a guy involved with the upper crust. It almost sanitizes him. And it helps leave hidden the sordid reality of the horrific sex trade in small children...

ME thinks had ol’ BB been in congress, he too would have remained seated. Nothing is good, all is bad at least until the likes of Joe Biden or Heels up harris are back in charge.

You see in BB’s world nothing is good. Surprised you fly all over the world to your chateaus, wherever the hell they are, don’t you know you are killing the planet!

In reality, other than criticize every f'ing move the man makes the question remains:

WWBBD?

answer: crickets.

John Vose's avatar

We listen to BBPR because we like and respect Tom Dyson and Dan Denning. We really like Joel Bowman but he left. We still listening to him but not at BBPR. Bill can be very critical. Probably best if he would focus on connecting the dots!

Abe Porter's avatar

Actually it would be better if BB quit.

44% tax rate in Greenland, their healthcare is not free.

John Austin's avatar

No, not from that point of view.

However, an individual Greenlander does not go bankrupt, or forgo medicine, due to cost. BB said 600,000 'Mericans do. (Sheesh! Really? ).

Perhaps you'd accept it more if regarding it as a form of Insurance?

Most homeowners pay insurance, hoping they'll never claim on it.

Most citizens of countries with health systems like Greenland's pay their taxes hoping they'll not need the 'free' healthcare very much.

Tlasso's avatar

I wonder if Greenlander’s healthcare is like Canadian healthcare? I know of an acquaintance who had to wait 6 months to be seen in Canada. Serious illness can proceed to the point of no return when waiting.😵

Mark H's avatar

I was just making a point to Bill. I have no preference as to what Greenlanders want or hope for.

Eid's avatar

For that 44 percent health care is provided for life…college tuition is free….how much does our healthcare and college education cost???

Fazal Sheriff's avatar

Thanks Bill for pointing out a few ‘crackpot’ Dots in the SOTU… I didn’t watch it, didn’t listen; what’s the point? When does He really make any… sense or speak .. the Truth?

Abe Porter's avatar

BB-there you go again. Your bullshit belief as a progressive democrat is that there is nothing that President Trump does is good for the country. You don’t mention Hillary Clinton knowing nothing when deposed. You don’t mention the hackling by democrats during his speech. This country is so divided that any progress will be impossible. Republicans say white; democrats say black. Republicans say up, democrats say down. This is on auto pilot no thought whether it’s good for the country. TERM LIMITS IS A NECESSITY. Get these people OUT.

"All we could do was lay in our bed."

Methinks you mean "lie". Hens lay. Best always. PM

Angry Icebergs's avatar

...perhaps Bill was referring to getting laid?

Paul Murray's avatar

Wouldn't that be getting into the province of what my kids call "TMI"? Best always. PM

Abe Porter's avatar

I doubt that

Abe Porter's avatar

I doubt that very much

Dave of Romford's avatar

I can’t lie, the use of past tense is appropriate in this instance.

Paul Murray's avatar

I can't lie, either. What the man wrote was "all we could do was lay in our bed." Therefore, 'lay" in that grammatical structure is a present infinitive, with "to" understood. It's still wrong, if he means "lie", because,as you point out, the simple past of "lie" is "lay", but because of the modal auxiliary "could", the construction requires the present infinitive (not the simple past) to complete the thought. It is possible he actually means "lay". In that case, my question would be "laying what?" Best always. PM

What else can I say about you Bill? Your a terminal case of TDS.

James F's avatar

I was relieved to hear that VP Vance is going to uncover enough fraud to balance the budget.

At least I think that's what he said - I wasn't paying much attention.

Abe Porter's avatar

Wouldn’t that be nice. Not too many government people are interested in reducing our debt.

John P Gallien's avatar

Bonner writes: "What makes our work especially difficult lately is that there are one heckuva lot of dots to work with..." Yes, Mr. Bonner. When the dots multiply and multiply, it's an indication that your mind is shutting down. Just another column riddled with TDS.

All I can say at the moment, without being specific, is that I’m in the process of cleaning up my subscriptions.

There is a kind of alternate universe we’ve entered in this on-line world. We attempt to communicate without touching, without really connecting. I’m trying to decide whether or not it’s enlightening or even healthy. It has certainly provided for me pathways to pursue intellectually. There is a non-human element the distance of which I’m finding unsatisfying to a degree. I’m considering the opportunity costs of other endeavors.

Tlasso's avatar

rid, not sure that the 20 minutes I spend reading BPR and the comments really cost me much except my sanity? I like the different perspectives and some of the witty comments. The crass ones I can do without. But then I am a glutton for punishment. I do like Dan & Tom’s writings and have profited from them. For one, I would never have known anything about the shipping industry were it not for Tom. And his SLVR has been a home run.

rKf's avatar

Thanks. I’ll try it.

Bill if you keep at it maybe you can bring back men in women's sports, Doctors having their licenses removed for trying to help their patients, more severe censorship, it being OK to remove children's body parts and replace them with plastic while giving them de-sexing drugs, millions of illegals voting Democrat, cheating in voting (who cares about America anyway especially when you live elsewhere, constant propaganda, the EU starting WWIII with Russia. Keep it up dude your friends of Politico, Associated Press, NYTs, and CNN will worship you. You can probably win a Nobel prize when the leader gets out of jail.
