The only honest role for government is to protect people from danger. But it quickly becomes a protection racket. The more fearful people become the more they are willing to pay for protection.
There are 3 principle tools being sharpened for totalitarian control and global governance - Public Health, Financial Crisis and Climate Change. As to the 3rd implement, the fomenters are perfectly aware that anthropogenic climate change is 100% hoax. They are also aware that natural climate change has been going on since the Big Bang, and that in recent millennia, right up to the present day, the earth has been both colder and hotter than it currently is, and that the primary cause remains the solar cycles that vary in length from approximately 9 years to around 1,000 years. They are equally aware that CO2 is plant food not a pollutant. So do not be fooled by the rhetoric and by the real motivation and plan behind it. They want to control your life and mine through emergency powers, in every aspect, and even more importantly they want far fewer of us around to control. Stay awake, stay informed and just say No.
Not too sure about this one Bill…“The more fearful people become the more they are willing to pay for protection”. We true Americans fear little due to our self reliance, work ethic and natural born instincts. We provide for ourselves and own protection 😊 I think you mean, “The more fearful democrats become, the more they are willing to pay for and vote for any useless leader who will give them free stuff and provide false protection, as we see in every democrat city🤔
Another key variable is how hard and quickly and surprisingly they ramp up the propaganda. I will confess that at the time of covid lockdown I was scared and even washing groceries when we got them home. In my defense, I woke up a couple of months in. I'll be looking more closely for the scam next time.
Fully understand Tim! The only reason me and my family didn’t fall for the bullshit was because I had told them about it the year before(2019)…when an employee of mine who likes surfing the dark web told me about this plandemic that was going to happen next year…by February of 2020, it was all becoming clear that everything he said, that I considered BS and insanity, was coming to light, and by the end of 2020, almost everything he said came to light, including the lockdown and killer vaccines. These evil beings can’t help themselves and always put whatever demented plans they have out there for us to see. Just hard to believe most of it because it’s always so crazy and unbelievable 🤔
Perfect and the cycles concur with the 11 year and 80 year Wolf Geissberg changes in solar amplitudes. And yes the freaks must know this, coming away with the notion they are gods. Whenever I hear someone spew nonsense like we must throw virgin girls from the mountain top into a volcano, I generally ask them them if they took their meds today.
Parallel to this BS about ("GroundhogDay") ever increasing temps a study was released that we´re approaching again a new small Ice Age. In fact, the Antartic Iceshield is growing at least since 10 years and even the Artic ice masses have grown a bit lately.
The scientific definition of an Ice Age, btw is this : Poles are covered with ice.......
Which hasn´t been the case for roughly 80% of the Planets existence.
“Earlier this year, the commander-in-chief warned that NATO allies would put American protection at risk if…”. This begs the question, why the hell is the U.S. taxpayer, via the military, responsible for footing the bill for “protection” of NATO allies at this point? Way past time for these “NATO allies” (who seem to be allies only when the muerde is hitting the ventilateur and they begin crying for Uncle Sam to save them) to be responsible for their own protection…or at LEAST be reimbursing the USA for the cost of providing it.
Amen. I was as anti-communist/anti-Soviet as they came in the Cold War era (my beer mug even says “Sluggo” on one side, “Non-Communist” on the other 😁) But that was then. This is now. Time to save the USA, not the rest of the world, too.
If the Ukraine is so critical, let Europe handle it. If China and the western Pacific is so critical, let Australia, Japan, India, S Korea, et al, step up. We can assist - “assist” being the operative word - but high-time for these other nations to handle their own areas of the globe, take primary responsibility.
(Just so we’re clear: I’m still anti-communist! 😉)
One point is, the Nato is a huge business model for all american Arms manufacturers. Each member has to align with the military standards and is forced to buy a lot US made weapons.
Second: if you command the world reserve currency you need to have the longest and the most rifles to maintain that position.
No question the MIC is the driving force, with huge profits (ie, transfer of money, taken from the middle class by the taxation police powers of the U.S. government) to the wallets of the MIC via, ahem, “defense” spending.
However, the U.S. should have heeded George Washington’s advice about avoiding foreign entanglements. Trade with them, but otherwise mind our own business.
Attack us, whole new ballgame: THEN we’ll open the whole USA can of whup-ass on you!
Basic, unadulterated truth today: Government is a protection racket. That statement explains completely and entirely our $37 trillion of acknowledged debt. The voting public sees the government as personal insurance, and the government sees the voting public as its willing dependent. It's CLASSIC co-dependence, which is a known destructive situation. Best always. PM
Excellent article, Bill. I was born in 1975, I faintly remember "the coming ice age". As a child of the 80's, "better stop using that hair spray" was all the rage, to save the ozone layer. The predictions turned to Y2K briefly for the 90's, when the climate predictions all failed to become reality. So most my adult life, I simply try to remember its all a grift! See ANYTHING associated with Al Gore for an example.
I was in Elementary school starting in 1971, and I distinctly remember our little “World Science Journals” or whatever those free science handouts were called, were all predicting the next ice age. No one really knows anything in this regard. Optimistically, I believe most people have lost all faith in what was considered science, thank God.
Now, if we could only lose "all faith" in government and get back to doing for ourselves, we might have a chance. Best always. PM
P.S. By the time you started elementary school in 1971, I was already in college, but the deal was the same in 1958 as in 1971; big government was like the old credit-card commercial: MASTER the possibilities! (May the Great One, Jackie Gleason [1916-1987], rest in peace.)
50's and 60's must have been terrifying for nuclear reasons....but I did have the movies "War games" and "The day after"(I think it was called)when I was a kid in the 80's! But I definitely understand the point!!!!
PS, I'm sure ole Al Gore would have grifted off of that back then!
My take on science and climate change is we definitely don't know what will happen. For example Utah has been as far north as 60 degrees lattitude and it has also resided on the equator. Oxygen isotopes 17 and 18 in ocean bottom sediments indicate that in the last 800,000 years there has been a general warming but with huge swings of ice ages and warm periods all along that 800,000 years. So do we want to raise our cost of energy to double using windmills and solar panels? Do we want to stop driving cars or having trucking? Plus this whole UN-IPCC is controlled by a bunch of socialists who definitely have cheated in their data and polished their data to show climate change. Makes one wonder if they are reputable coming from their men in women's sports ideas which undoubtedly shows they have an agenda. Plus all the other shit they have thrown at us.
Well, maybe I have a bright spot for y'all today - or at least a less dark one. We will see just how serious our "leaders" are in the next few weeks. This needs to happen with positive outcomes, by that I mean less spending:
Old Joe should have come out of the closet and started looking in our own "government." He would have found the commies he was looking for, likely by the dozens. That seed of destruction has turned into an infestation.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, the vast majority of hard core communists came to America - and quickly found employment in our Institutions of "higher learning." Now they and their offspring are teaching, administrating and directing pretty much everything at some of the most prestigious schools we have, as well as at many other "lesser" institutions. They are an invasive cancer and yes - they are also 𝗔𝗟𝗟 proud members of today's dimocrat party. Thankfully, people are waking up and leaving that degenerate clown show cult in droves.
If we can stop the widespread election cheating and fraud by the lefties they would be finished as a major party. Then when they inevitably turn violent (they ALWAYS do when they start to face rejection), we can legally begin to rid ourselves of this problem.
Probably more than a handful of republicans (especially senate) as well and dozens more owned by big pharma, big arms, big ag and millions more of those hopeful of getting unearned crumbs from the public trough. The deep state has had decades to prepare for this showdown.
Obviously the "greenies" aren't going anywhere. However, hot areas of the future won't present any problems for humans. As AI reaches it's full potential with the creation of robots, people won't be needed to work or live in those supposedly "unliveable" areas of the earth. We will just have those robots do all the work that humans would be needed to do. Humans can just sit back and enjoy life, while receiving their income from the world government. Oh, and by the way Santa Claus will be delivering a Rolls Royce to every family this year.
That was good. I read an article, this week, climate change, on the Cascade fault will make an earthquake catastrophic because of sea level rise, a fall in land, a tsunami, will indefinitely flood hundreds of square miles. It can happen tomorrow or anytime in the next 800 years.
Fear produces paralysis, which in turn creates (wait for it) NEED and DEPENDENCE. How ironic that America's first great Marxist (sorry, Barack; he beat you to the fundamental transformation game) FDR, (yes, even HE) said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!" Then came government largesse, and he got elected FOUR times. Best always. PM
This column by Bonner illustrates a huge hole in his education. The column is based on a false premise. He states: "The only honest role for government is to protect people from danger." Not true and he even points out what some people might call danger, others might not. Along the way, Bonner does make some good points, but as usual, when it comes to fundamental philosophical principles, he is way off-base. After all, people die from automobile accidents all the time as well as many other things - should we ban automobiles to save these people or make vehicles so safe that no one can afford them. This may seem like a minor point, but it just galls me that a fundamental principle like this, Bonner just doesn't have a clue. It's such an absurd statement.
As Ayn Rand pointed out, the purpose of government is the protection of individual rights - the right of each person to their own life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. I commented on this just the other day. She went into great detail explaining this concept. This puts an entirely different connotation on what government should do. In order to protect individual rights, a government needs a police force to counter domestic criminals and a court system to prosecute them. It also needs a military to defend against foreign adversaries. (Note: government shouldn't be doing anything else.) All these institutions need to be kept in check in order to adhere to their intended purposes and no more. Obviously, this is a topic that requires a lot of explanation which I'm not going to get into here. Suffice it to say, Ayn Rand wrote many books exploring this concept on various issues.
I respect Bill's analysis on many things. I found an old satellite photo of the Artic and a recent one. The difference is dramatic. Absent volcanos or asteroids, natural climate change takes a long time. What is going on now is taking place within a human life span. Lots of things point to carbon dioxide buildup as the cause. Carbon dioxide can be increased quickly but once there it takes centuries to leach out. To blow it off saying there will be snorkeling in Maimi and beaches in the Andes and somehow that is ok is an analysis that doesn't have Bill's hallmarks of research and reason.
OK. Let's assume everything you say is true. Let's say also another match is never struck, no one ever dares to "flick his Bic" again, lightning never starts another fire, and we consume NO fossil fuels, not one gram, ever again, no wood fires and no candles, no torches, not even in caves where we would be presumably dwelling. Conceding all of that, how long until the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere recedes to a "safe" level, never minding that carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have been many times higher historically than now? Best always. PM
The whole CO2 thing as the cause of global warming is a sham and just a grab for power over our lives. As PM points out, the CO2 level has been many times higher. It has, in fact been declining for millions of years (see (Patrick Moore's book - "Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom"). While CO2 has increased recently (from .03% of the atmosphere to .04%), it is still low historically. This is garbage science for a political purpose.
"Lots of things point to carbon dioxide buildup as the cause."
Can you list 3 of those "lots" or is that just something your tv told you? Bonus points if you can articulate WHY a higher CO2 level in the atmosphere is a bad thing.
Surely you know that CO2 is factually only a piece of the 0.04% of the atmosphere that it shares with 8 other Elements, right?
Let the denials begin. Y'all are ASTOUNDINGLY ignorant. Why don't you actually research some of the complete BS you so willingly swallow whole?
Climate change - if your financial advisor has been as catastrophically wrong for the last 30 years as Al Gore has been regarding climate change you’d be retiring in a double-wide in some nice trailer park. (Apologies to those who WANT to retire that way…)
As far as alcohol, I’ve never seen, met or heard of anyone who was helped by the demon rum. Unless they poured it n an open would.
The only responsibility of a government is (to allow citizens as much freedom as possible while) keeping citizens safe.
To a wise person, this is an enormous challenge. To an idiot, it looks simple
Have a great day.
P.S. Bill actually has some stuff pretty nearly right today. Way more people die from cold than from heat, but technology has improved in both climates.
This is the perfect time to advocate and actually work for peace. Trump promised he would “produce” peace during the election and finally seems to be moving in that direction in Gaza. However, his budget actually increases our War Department’s budget. Unless that is drastically REDUCED we can look forward to increased waste, debt, dollar drop in value and reduced influence with the other 180 countries on this globe. Is that where we really want to go?
An increase in our "War Department's" budget (do you mean our Defense Department?) doesn't necessarily equate to adopting a policy of belligerence.
This whole "Golden Dome" defense system in space won't be cheap and the oceans as protection have already been defeated by our adversaries' hypersonic weapons.
What we have to do is figure out a way to put a tariff on NATO to get them to pay for it.
A way that we can make those we help, who always seem to criticize us - or even hate us - now have to pay for the privilege.
Trump probably has some good ideas in this regard.
There are 3 principle tools being sharpened for totalitarian control and global governance - Public Health, Financial Crisis and Climate Change. Very much like viruses, CO2 is invisible, intangible, and tasteless. Perfect for fearmongering.
Both are also racist. Apparently...

Perhaps it´s exactly because they took them....
The first tool is well under way due to "supplements", the second is due in the near future, and the third is an ongoing natural process.
In OZ people will not talk about any of these processes, mainly because it is "too hard to deal with" and so silence prevails.
Cognitive dissonance in action!
As a farmer in northern Alberta where we get on average five months a year of real winter ,I am totally in favor of global warming .
Hallelujah!
Finally a Contribution I entirely endorse.

Yep but back then our desks were real desks that offered real protection! (LOL)

Thats an oxymoron. Just out of curiosity how old was the satellite ?.
Holy shit. Bill has transformed (at least, for one day) into a clear thinking, no BS, no TDS syndrome. Well done, Bill. Thank you, AP
Actually it was the House of Representatives that did that and it's not law yet.
