I'll be first! What type of kool-aid are you drinking? You wouldn't last 30 seconds as an ICE agent. You do not have a clue. Think back to 2020-2024. Do you remember what a joke that was. Trump is not perfect, and this administration has made some mistakes, but at least we know who is doing it, why and where it is coming from. When people start breaking ranks, it tells you that they are thinking more about re-election, then what the people asked for. Illegal is illegal. Peaceful protest is peaceful protest. It is very simple when you really think about it. The American people are on a merry go round, and everything is a blur. Think about it, one week ago it was about Greenland, 2 weeks ago it was about fraud, 1 month ago it was about the Epstein Files. Every time Trump is in office this becomes a political newsletter, and when somebody (brain dead) else is in office it becomes how can we blame Trump for this. Take a Duco-lax, have a seat, and think about what you newsletter has become!

Well, well, Mr. Bonner. How about taking a break from your gloom and doom and TDS claptrap to research the following:

I have heard reports that the Trump administration is implementing deregulation of the economy in various areas. Could you do some research on this in a comprehensive way (that is, list and explain the deregulations) and report how these deregulations will affect the economy?

The Trump administration has claimed he has brought trillions of dollars of investments and manufacturing back to America. Could you research this and let us know the status of each and every effort he is making in this area (at least the significant ones).

The Trump administration is encouraging energy growth in reliable energy sources (e.g., nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil). Could you research this and let us know the extent that this is happening from pipelines to nuclear power plants including SMR.

I apologize for asking you to do some work rather than scanning the left-wing media for negative analysis about Trump, but if you could put your beer down for a second and give us some useful information, I think many of your subscribers would be grateful.

Yes, but there is no love lost between Mr. Bonner and I.

He didn't say it , but I bet it was with his old lovely lady.

There's that respect thing again.......

Perfect. Indeed, it would be in keeping with the “our beat is money” phrase Mr. Bonner spews; some unemotional financial research instead of regurgitating DNC talking points and venting personal Trump animosity.

Yes this info would be great. But do not hold Your breath as this info is mostly still in the "making'. Well as far as I can see. Also You and I know that the info will come from federal agencies, not independent ones.

Trump has certainly brought plenty of dollars into his family coffers since it’s alleged that his wealth has tripled since he took office! Exactly how much money he’s brought into America’s coffers is questionable since he’s an expert at lauding himself, but it’s difficult to see the results!

He’s an expert at planning to spend money on White House ballroom renovations, the planned Arche de Trump, now the Trump Kennedy Center that he’s going to close down for two years and renovate, and of course the Golden Dome, which probably isn’t a workable arrangement and could be a major financial boondoggle!

John P Gallien's avatar

Linda,

go troll someone else with your TDS BS.

linda shawler's avatar

Just because you’re so hung up on Trump doesn’t mean that everyone else is, so leave me to my opinions and I’ll leave you to yours! Good luck if you’re depending on Trump!

John P Gallien's avatar

First off, I'm not hung up on Trump. Secondly, I will happily leave you to your opinions as long as you don't directly respond to my comments. That is the only reason I responded to you, Ms. TDS.

Our government is so dysfunctional and corrupt its sickening. First they open the gates and invite the migrants into the country while showering them with unearned benefits coerced from the American taxpayer. Then they round em up like cattle to send them back from where they came. What a cluster F!

Angry Icebergs's avatar

So many blame Trump.

Whereas it's more part of the American political machine that renders foreign governments jitters...

To them it seems every 4 or 8 years there's a change in ideology.

MICHAEL RIZZUTO's avatar

MOST PEOPLE SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE FIGHT IS NOT BLUE V RED, DEM V REP, LIBERAL V CONSERVATIVE, LEFT V RIGHT. THE REAL FIGHT, WHICH THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT WANT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND IS, "US VERSUS THEM"

95% of the uninformed citizens play LEFT-RIGHT games while the government predators play DIVIDE AND CONQUER!

America the Beautiful! Gold is rising like beachfront property listings the morning after the hurricane sirens stop. JPMorgan said $8,500? Why not $9,000? Why not a trillion? When your measuring stick is made of warm taffy, everything is tall.

If President Trump says everything is “doing great.” That really means the building is on fire, but the curtains are fabulous.

The Dow is finally listening to Mr. Bonner. Down 30% when measured in gold. Hilarious! That’s like saying your house is worth less if you price it in oxygen. Oxygen always wins. Just try living without it.

People complaining about winter? Really? “We didn’t expect it.” Winter? In a country that has winter every year. I’m shocked that gravity continues its long career, but President Trump insists that the weather is perfect, he says frostbite is just patriotic tingling.

And now onto Tariffs, if 75% of the population think tariffs raise prices, then it’s not a statistic, it’s a confession!

The real “Warrior Dividend” is households paying an extra $2000 a year, you get to fight your own grocery bill!

Everything’s going up, prices, deficits, electricity, food, tariffs, gold, unemployment, even the lies, and I’m just sitting here wondering if the only thing not rising is the national IQ, which seems to have taken the elevator down and set it on fire.

It’s all cheerful in a doomed way. Greenland, Iran, Minneapolis, rent control, free childcare, credit card caps, stimmies for everyone. Trump’s solution to a hole in the boat is distributing commemorative buckets.

And finally the dollar, yes, it tumbles to a four year low, again Trump says it’s strong. That’s like telling a bald man he’s experiencing aggressive hair growth.

Bill says everyone is confused!?! If gold is expensive, are stocks cheap? If stocks are high, why does everything feel low? Maybe because numbers are happy and people aren’t.

Trump blames the previous president, the weather, the clouds, the coffee. I guess “accountability” must be an immigrant or foreigner.

And in the end, the excuses keep multiplying, the refrigerators stay empty, and the only thing that truly refuses to rise is responsibility, which apparently missed the rally because it was too busy being deported from reality.

Yep - ol' Bill just keeps telling the truth. How dare he? Doesn't he know that the peons are really stupid and all you need to do is to just keep lying to them! Propaganda works - right out of Jimmy Jones playbook - the MAGAs keep drinking the koolaid like it is a strong liquor - more, Orangeman, more - please!. No - don't look at reality people - believe Trump. Surely the TACO Clown must be right - after all, look at what he has done to the World. Tariffs are working - the World is bowing down - America is WONDERFUL! Except the rest of the world is figuring out how to run away. America is no longer trusted - and the MAGAs believe that is the truth and the way! All of us who don't drink the koolaid - just don't get it, don't see how wonderful Trump is. Reminds me of a Blazing Saddles quote by Hedley Lemarr but slightly modified to fit Trump: "Men, you are about to embark on a great crusade to stamp out runaway decency in the world. Now you men will only be risking your lives, whilst I will be risking an almost certain Nobel Peace Prize." And speaking of Hedley Lemarr - he also remarked about other countries/people's properties - "Unfortunately there is one thing standing between me and that property: the rightful owners." But, in Trump's World who cares about laws, morals, or the Constitution. The ONLY thing that matters is what Trump wants. Have a great weekend! After all, Sunday brings another month...........

Angry Icebergs's avatar

...wide open borders for 4 years and you speak of Constitution?

25 years of "globalizing i.e. outsourcing" American manufacturing, and you speak of "trust"?

-

I don't believe anyone called Trump "wonderful".

That would be Kevin O'Leary, wealthy Canadian investor and businessman that approves of Trump's policies...

You need help. Serious psychiatric help. Otherwise, you have a VERY miserable three years ahead of you, Ol’ Man.

Trump might be living in Mr. Bonner’s head rent-free, but it’s become clear he isn’t renting space in yours; he owns it.

Abe Porter's avatar

Ol’Man-I know we disagree on many things and agree on very few. The way you speak about America might be a good reason to find another country that is more to your ‘perfection’. The US is not perfect but compared to other countries we are as best as can be. There is room for improvement and President Trump is working on it. Who knows 2 years from now you just might praise Trump.

Angry Icebergs's avatar

Take a look at the DXY chart and compare the last 10 years... the dollar is not crashing... it's about average right now...

MICHAEL RIZZUTO's avatar

As I stated to my family and friends during the 2020 election our boomer generation only ever had a long series of self-servants running for president. Starting in 2020 Millennials would decide who the president would be from here forward. The new choice was between a dementia patient and a mental patient! I wished my children and their entire generation good luck with that! While there is nothing new under the sun this feels like something not seen since the days of the Roman Empire!

While I do "get" a lot of Trumps ways, as they are the ways of most old school New Yorkers, I must say he strikes me as either being more self-serving than most old school presidents or bordering on the insane. (Possibly both) I voted for him as the lesser of two evils. I figured a guy who could stay wake and at least knew where he was at any given point in time would be the logical option. Now I am not so sure!

A fellow New Yorker born in Queens!

Angry Icebergs's avatar

...I think we're all with you... unfortunately Trump's narcissism is likely the impetus of his success.

Abe Porter's avatar

I truly believe that Trump loves the country. The problems he encounters is partly his doing but mostly the roadblocks the democrats are doing to his roadmap. Give the man a changed there is goodness in his madness. I like winners; I think we all do.

I just want to add my opinion why the deficits in our country keeps expanding. One way to reduce the deficit is to cut spending. We MUST cut the following:

1. Cut departments that are worthless (education and energy are the first 2; there are others)

2. Clontinue to go after the waste and fraud (I believe it’s probably more than 50% of the budget)

3. Stop funding countries that hate us and countries that take advantage of us.

4. Move away from bases that are not necessary or close to other US bases.

5. Remove all duplication of departments done by the states.

6. Increase ‘slowly’ the retirement age. Start with 55 year olds and make it 70 to retire.

7. Get rid of empty buildings throughout the unites states

8. Reduce stupid regulations that impede economic growth

9. I’m sure many of you folks can add a few more.

Gold back below 5000. That’s 700 below the high. Other metals down, too. Bigly.

What to make of that, Mr. Bonner? Dan? Tom?

working stiff's avatar

At least you are consistent, and oh by the way, it is President Trump. Show some respect old man. You get what you give. You can return to calling him Mr. Trump at 12:01 on the 1/20/2029.

The trend had a bit of a hiccup today. LME doesn’t open for business. In the past few days every major back but one called for $6000 gold and silver to the moon. Every (obviously) paid takin g head said the same.

And then, they naked shorted it to death as the underwater bullion banks and the govt ‘watchdogs’ cheered them on. At one point the spread between Shanghai and NY was nearly $60 an ounce.

Looks like we will have much longer wait for that magical 5/1. By the time we get there I’ll be too old too care.

Sluggo's avatar

“Looks like we will have much longer wait for that magical 5/1. By the time we get there I’ll be too old too care.”…my thoughts, too.

And I’m almost at that point now. Screw it. Spend what you can afford, be frugal with the rest, and let the chips fall where they may (because they will, anyway.) Life’s too short, so enjoy it.

MoodyP's avatar

Excellent. That is pretty much what we have been doing since 2011. Had to close our business after the 2008 crash. Sold our house at a loss. But we had been blessed and we owned a 35 ft sailboat. Kids were gone. So we gave away almost everything we owned to people who were really hurting (we were smarting and chagrined but not down and out), moved onto the boat, left the Great Lakes and went sailing for 9 years. In 2020 with aging parents and Covid making travel a challenge, we got the boat back to MI. Now we spend 6 months on the boat and 6 months off in a rented condo in SC.

While we were living FT on the boat we did a lot of odd jobs. It was fascinating really. I grew up working in a restaurant. So I went back to working as a line cook for a couple years. I taught sailing. I worked in a paint store. I did varnish work on mega yachts in paradise. My wife taught English in the Bahamas plus a few other things. We lived cheap. Bought gold with the money we saved.

We are not wealthy. We probably crack the top 10% if retirees for assets. All of which are liquid and no RMDs. We’ve been blessed despite the setbacks.

Essentially for the past 15 years we have done exactly as you espoused, and you stated it more eloquently than I ever have.

Cash flow covers expenses. The metals are for the kids to inherit. The investments are an effort to grow the NAV just in case we need more cash flow or someone ends up in memory care.

One of my long time hobbies, which I got started on by my dad, is investing in really small market cap gold miners. Copper and silver too but mostly gold. 2025 was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed as our NAV went up by 54%, with a 65% allocation to cash. Both mining portfolios were up over 250%.

I did get a bit over my skis and failed to take enough profit, but time will take care of that.

Many blessings. Thanks for your great thoughts.
