No hoots & holler about the Dems that were digging such a hole as was never seen before - but you, Bill, wait to pile on Trump??? Was it Trump's actions over the last FOUR YEARS OF CRAP that pushed the US to the edge? Where was Biden? Oh yeah, Biden was sleeping in his sand box while the unknown people running the Whitehouse were jacking the US into such massive debt! Or have you forgotten, Bill, about those four years of "Biden" trying to spend as much money as possible to bankrupt the country? I don't know where you were then but here's a head's up: It wasn't Trump!

So, part time and gig work aren't "employment" or "real" jobs? True, they don't usually last 40 years and come with a gold watch at the end, but just because they are outside one's realm of experience doesn't mean they aren't jobs. It's 2025, Bill. Things change - like it or not...

To your question, "Then what?" my short answer is a guess. To wit, I guess banks -- local and national -- will start issuing currency like they did in the 19th century. Or maybe they'll create an asset backed "coin" or both.

When defense contractors start refusing to accept dollars, then maybe Congress will get serious about balancing its budget.

It is simple - Congress will never take decisive action. The US$ will blow-up - there is no other ending. It will cause a worldwide financial crisis and why the BRICS are racing for an alternative. China now holds less than US$800B in US Treasuries with the largest holder being Japan. And, laughingly, Japan's debt is over 250% of their GDP. China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Indian, Iran continue to buy gold. The BIG UNKNOWN for our future - how much gold does the U.S. actually have?

Expand full comment
Jimm Roberts's avatar

I'm not so sure that gold is the answer.

If our currency is backed by gold, it has to be redeemable by gold. I don't think that will ever happen. If it does, then Ft Knox will be emptied in minutes.

To restore confidence in the dollar, its purchasing power has to be restored; not inflated by 2% per year.

The dollar has to become something that holds its value; something to put under your mattress.

I submit the only way to make that happen is to commit to balance the budget over x years.

Likely won't happen with our Congresses, especially the current one, composed of individuals the vast majority of whom have round heels and are loath to defy the Executive Branch by seriously cutting its Appropriation requests.

Unfortunately (seems to be the word of our financial world), that time has come and gone. Our government is bought and paid for by a variety of Lobbyists. The Military Industrial Complex is a huge elephant - as seen in the latest "beautiful bill" is getting a substantial raise. If eyes are wide open, it should be obvious there isn't an independent Congress or Executive Branch and for that matter Judiciary. It is Money, Money, Money. All we lemmings are being run-off a cliff. It is why empire after empire after empire goes into the toilet. Human nature is consistent and history so aptly points that out time after time over the centuries. It is no different today. All us peons can do is prepare the best we can until and - most importantly - enjoy life. And, like Toby Keith so pointedly sang - "Don't let the ol' man in!"

Bitcoin is indeed just wind. It’s man made hence digital fiat. Money is gold & silver … it was behind the paper dollar until 1971 and will most likely be behind a digital coin going forward. It’s true most people don’t own gold & silver but at some point their saving will be converted to a digital currency backed by gold etc … and the rest they will need to earn with their labour.

You barter what you have: labor, skills, excess product, services, perishable items like farm products, radio airtime. You would be surprised how quickly barter fills the void, first person to person, then three way trades and much more.

It behooves one to start building your tribe, your aware community. Your financial advisor becomes less important than your plumber, your banker less important than a small farmer, your utility less important than a generator or a water source. It’s the hands on hand to mouth relationships that can prevent devastating hardship. Get to know the right people that have mutual understanding and varied skills or access to resources.

In most of America, the chaos will be horrendous. There will be gangs and for some period of time violence. Yes - you have a generator but when someone puts a gun to your head, your generator disappears. The World gets extremely ugly. Now if you are in the boonies with a minimum of humans, things become much more amicable. It ain't going to be that way in most of America. Got guns, ammo, gold, silver......

If the economy goes into a tailspin and more borrowing at this level ensues, driving up inflation, then the people are gonna bring out the torches and pitchforks. The administration apparently anticipates and is already preparing for this. In a recent executive order that flew entirely under the media radar, Trump said the quiet part right out loud:

Sec. 4. Using National Security Assets for Law and Order. (a) Within 90 days of the date of this order, the Attorney General and the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security and the heads of agencies as appropriate, shall increase the provision of excess military and national security assets in local jurisdictions to assist State and local law enforcement.

(b) Within 90 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Attorney General, shall determine how military and national security assets, training, non-lethal capabilities, and personnel can most effectively be utilized to prevent crime.

Not quite willing to believe what I was seeing, I wrote to a friend who is one of the country's leading Constitutional lawyers and asked, "Did Trump just declare martial law?"

His answer was simply, "Yes."

Dots are starting to connect. The Deagle Report, the recent disclosure of over 170 underground "government" facilities and the transportation system that connects them all, the sudden infatuation with and admission of "aliens", the media-ignored phenomenon of tens-of-thousands of Americans converting to Christianity on a weekly basis (aka a Revival, being led by people under the age of 30), the "who cares" attitude by otherwise thinking, critical "leaders" with regard to the mess that is our Financial House, the extreme uptick in Censorship throughout Europe and other parts of the world - and on and on, curious events/activities both big and small.

It's almost as if there is a small group of powerful people that are convinced something really big and really unavoidable is coming our way, and nothing will be the same after it happens. An Extinction Level Event? Nuclear War? Alien Landings? Meteor Strike? Magnetic Poles Flipping? The Rapture?

I don't know - but there is a TON of fishy stuff going on around the world, and it appears some people are privy to the the basic specifics. Looking at the EO you reference and applying some Critical Thinking to the whole ambiguous blob - I'd guess the party is gonna start sometime in late Summer/early Fall, but there will be survivors...

Under the Albanese Labor government, a record 547,300 migrants arrived in Australia in 2023, according to ABS data published today.

No government has ever brought as many migrants to Australia in a single year. As Australians struggle with finding a place to live, with congestion on our roads, and with pressure on services like seeing a GP, Labor’s record pace of migration is not sustainable.

Labor must take responsibility for their Big Australia policy. Australia experienced record migration in 2023 because this Labor Government issued a record number of visas.

This week Peter Dutton has claimed Labor wants to “expressly push” new Australians through citizenship ceremonies ahead of the federal election.

And they did, especially in the marginal seats.

We all know "it's" coming. We also know that it can be Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Martians or Venusians in charge; until, we start with a minimum of having balanced budgets, and a plan to greatly reduce our debt, we're fighting a losing battle.

Bill: while I agree with your article that printing money to pay the debt will eventually implode our economy it has been done for more than 50 years by all administrations, Democrats and Republicans. My ‘HOPE’ is that in this Trump administration the printing will develop our economy that in the near future we will have more spending cuts and more income taxes from a booming economy. If this does not happen then we are eventually doomed. AP

Notice in this scripture that we are in a fight against the rulers of the world as well as evil spiritual forces.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
