Omg, such b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t - you find it impossible to give this man credit. Not one big win, FOUR.

1. Brought the Chinese to the table to NEGOTIATE trade, something that has not happened, at all during your brother Biden’s rein.

2. Hamas agreed to release the last remaining American hostage as a gesture to OUR PRESIDENT.

3. Pushed for a summit between Zelensky and Putin, it will occur Thursday, this week. (Unless of course Putin backs out, the little weasel)

4. Signed an EA to bring the blatantly corrupt and price gauging Pharma companies to include the U.S. in most favored nation status bringing drug prices in line with what the charge other countries.

Your latest diatribe of the man could have been penned by Baraka, the idiotic mayor of Newark. Why not go to Newark and Join the idiot mayor and storm the ICE facility, that seems to suit you based on your latest round of frankly BS. I’d like to spell out the word, but given your propensity to side with the FAR FAR left, you would probably have this post taken down for use of the word, although I have seen others posted, that perhaps were more in favor with your steeply flawed political views.

Meanwhile, back at what we subscribed for, I want to thank Tom for his guidance on shipping stocks, of which i am up significantly. That BBB, is what we are here for - I guess we must put up with your Soros like rants in order to gain such insight.

Bill’s assessment of Trump’s actions are right on target.

Trump’s goofy trade war will cause prices for American consumers to go up, not down.

The reason for the trade deficits is because of wages; not shenanigans by foreign buyers

The Fed’s inflationary policies over the decades are the the primary reason Made in America is non-competitive

“Our wages are the highest in the world.”

About half the labor force works and of the half that works about 60% are the working poor, they can’t meet living expenses.

Who gets all these high wages? And where is the benefit of cheap products from free trade.

America pays 400% more for drugs than other countries. The government pays the majority.

I drove a truck, loaded seafood in Seattle. As a reference, in UT it was $2.00 a lbs, in MD, $1.00. They charge what the market will bear; Utahns think seafood is expensive, Marylanders expect it to be cheap.

The economy, the government, everything, is controlled by money, corporations.

There is no such thing as a free trade benefit for American consumers, they pay as much as corporations can charge, it’s like airline pricing. Free trade benefits corporations; corporations are a mob of oppression, they suck blood where it has been drained dry. They are killing the goose. Americans are dead broke, deep in debt and the system is atrocious. Medical care, Education, Insurance, the MIC bleeding Americans.

The debt crisis increasing, individual and government.

America is a joke, our leaders beyond corrupt.

Do you really believe that tariffs are major problem with our economy? China agreed to form a working group with the US. Nothing has really been decided. Generally, before leadership meets there is an agreement to what will be discussed. I don't believe this has happened. I expect Trump to call in an ORDER Zelensky to accept whatever egregious terms Putin wants. After all, Trump slapped Zelensky around so it's Putin's turn. Lastly, President Trump's executive order is a written directive instructing federal agencies and officials on how to manage operations or enforce EXISTING laws.

Another column of half-truths and bold assertions with little or no explanations to back it up. The most hilarious of Bonner's assertions is his definition of Trump Derangement Syndrome: "They (meaning conservatives) labelled any criticism of the Big Man as a mental problem — Trump Derangement Syndrome." Well, no Bill. TDS is when you only criticize Trump by picking and choosing what you report on - ignoring anything that contradicts your preconceived notions. That's exactly what you did today (and every day you write about Trump). Am I wrong, Bill? Recount ONE positive thing you wrote about Trump in today's column. Also, the "facts" you use to back up your arguments are quite thin. But your fellow Trump haters and sycophants will love your column - so there is that.

Here is just a little sampling of your complete irrational TDS today:

"And so...here we are in Trump II. And this time we see the naked Trump, with a whole caste of half-wit enablers — Bondi, Hegseth, et al — rather than the devious restrainers of Trump I. And this unclothed emperor is not a pretty sight."

What is not a pretty sight, or more specifically "read", is your total irrational hatred of all things Trump. This is TDS. As I've written on these pages many times before, Trump can certainly be criticized. But to do so rationally, the criticism needs to be done with all the facts and within the context of the total picture. That type of analysis is obviously beyond your ability.

Seriously, folks, do you really think our Government (or any Government) actually gives a hoot about us peons? Seriously? Trump and his minions are no different. First and foremost, they are looking out for themselves. Their analysis is focused on who "not" to piss off and how can they feather their own bed. It is similar to "free trade" - each seller and each buyer are looking out for themselves and do what they must to survive. Corruption hasn't stopped and it won't stop. Human nature doesn't change - time will tell what happens but all of us are going to experience the greatest credit bubble explosion in history. There is no "saving" America - there will be no balanced budget or even a cut in the size of the deficit. Yes- ol' Trumpsters is stirring the pot and shaking up the world but - frankly - in the end the chaos of a financial disaster lies ahead. US$ is credit - not money. There is over $100T in derivatives that have multi-counter parties. 100 Trillion - unbelievable. This isn't fixable. Watching this stage play is entertaining but getting your panties in a wad thinking Trump is the 2nd coming is pure lunacy. Gentlemen (and Dorothy) wake-up and smell the coffee. As Ayn Rand said - "You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality." But, I do love the way poor Ol' Bill gets lampooned here in the Comments - gives me a big chuckle and probably Bill too.

So Bill Bonner, writing by candlelight with a quill pen on Sesame seed parchment and copious amounts of high-altitude Malbec knows more about the processes and outcomes that are inevitable in relationships involving Trillions of dollars than does the conglomerate Donald Trump with the very talented team of mature business, finance and trade executives that he has built to deal with the unfair conditions in international markets that we have been subject to for decades. (Sorry for the run-on sentence) Of course, the obvious, irrational hatred and lack of objectivity Bonner shows when it comes to Trump (displayed over MANY months) only adds to the author’s credibility and has nothing to do with his insults of the President, his supporters and the people leading our government.

"Back at the end of Trump’s first term opinions were still divided. The liberals still thought he was a grifter and a clown; . . ."

To anyone living in the USA and watching news here, the essential reality is that opinions were divided all right, but the division was according to political tribe. People who call themselves liberals or progressives thought Trump was a grifter and a clown from the moment he rode down the escalator in Trump Tower and announced his candidacy for the Presidency.

The tribe that called itself conservative thought the other side -- the more numerous side, by the way -- was biased against anyone who was not a member of the liberal tribe, and looking back at history makes the point. Reagan was a clown until the end of 8 years, then he was an elder statesman. GHWB was in the same category. So was his son, with the addition of comments about his avoidance of combat and the fact that inherited wealth. The pool of enemies was expanded to those Supreme Court Justices who had been nominated by Republican Presidents, with the Senate Majority Leader threatening them on the steps of the Court. My guess is there will come a time when Trump is called an elder statesman by the Liberals, after he is no longer in office and clearly will not run again.

Bill's point that all of them have had a hand in increasing the debt is accurate. Even if that were not so, our tribalism has been increased a lot in my lifetime, and this hatred is not less destructive than the debt. We need to find a way to spend less, yes. We also need to find a way to stop using vituperation as a campaign tool.

The final act of this tragic farce unfolds as the markets shudder, lurching toward a midnight of economic oblivion. October 2025 looms, a month of death throes and financial last rites, where the stench of decaying markets clings to the air like fog in a crypt.

A 90-day pause in the U.S.-China trade war?

Ha! The perfect stretch for the living dead to shamble their last, hands outstretched, grasping at the air like a brain-dead patient held on life support just long enough for distant kin to whisper their final farewells.

Yes, Reagan’s ghost clinks his spectral jelly beans in the corner while Trump lumbers onto the stage like a bloated parade float, Sharpie in hand, scribbling over the economic charts like a drunk cartographer, carving his version of reality into the pages of history. Black Monday? No, this will be Blood-Soaked Quarter, a maelstrom of collapsing indexes and liquidity black holes, where the Dow doesn’t merely fall, but hemorrhages, as if Michael Myers himself had taken a blade to its jugular.

As the tariffs tick like a death clock, and the half-witted enablers of Trump 2.0 chant their empty hymns to “Big Wins,” the rest of us watch the abyss stretch open, wide and hungry, eager to devour what’s left of the American Dream. The stars themselves recoil, and even the darkest corners of the universe seem to whisper, “What fresh hell is this?”

But in this chaos, there remains one light, Gold, that ancient, unyielding refuge, gleaming with the promise of stability and unspoken wealth, whispering to those who dare listen that in every collapse, there lies an opportunity to rise.

Interesting load of comments here - the true believers on each side of USA politics frothing at each other. Mainly the Trumpists, but they're not alone. Ho Hum.

I'm a foreigner. I don't care what you say about each other - (though I agree with both sides).

From where I stand, I see that when the dust settles, American citizens will be paying about 10% more for the products they buy. More or less; consequently some will lose their jobs, some will do well.

Overseas, foreigners will still buy offered products at the best local value.

Hmm. What does the USA make that is exceptionally attractive to foreigners, who can otherwise buy from elsewhere on the globe, usually without tariff barriers?

USA makes good weapons, I guess. So long as the Chinese lift their embargo on rare earths.

I can't think of any other bulk items - (IT services maybe - but I use Linux, not MS or Apple.)

Non-tariff barriers will persist - the obvious barriers are to foods that don't meet standards, but also products that only have niche appeal, such as oversized cars.

There's another non-tariff barrier, though, which foreign governments can't lower even in response to American demands.

Trumpists have been disrespecting all foreigners (Peasants, 51st state, etc etc) such that there is a buy-anything-but-American movement, globally.

That attitude will persist.
